preface:

you couldn’t always die and come back to life. well at least not back in your world

when you traveled to a new dimension, you didn’t think anything of it besides youbEING IN A NEW DIMENSION.

everyone there had magic, and for some reason, even though you got transported to that world, you didn’t have any….. well it seemed like it

it wasn’t until riddle’s overblot when you realized your full potential. by that i mean you fucking died

with your lovely sacrifice after directing your new friends, you woke up and they solved the problem

all you saw was riddle being taken to the infirmary by trey and 3 worried faces of adeuce and crowley

they didn’t think anything of your supposed “nap” (there was no blood just the ink filled your soul too much and exhausted you, killing you rip)

curious after feeling death for the seemingly first time. you accidentally try it again; after admiring the mirror in your bedroom, grim shined a light, creating a reflection that left you blind and tossed yourself outside the nearby window

you proceded to wake up on the ground outside of ramshackle, noticing that your body was in top-tier. everything seemed normal except for a headache. grim even came down to apologize and thought you died!

with this new-found knowledge and life in a magical world. you tested your abilities the next couple of weeks without anyone noticing.

turns out… you’re immortal, congrats!

ace:

sighs. troublemaker

this would happen out of nowhere and just honest bad luck. yeah there is no honesty, ace and you weren’t partners for the latest potion experiment but it didn’t stop him from targeting you, accidentally?

ace decided to abduct you from your daily commute back to ramshackle, saying that he and you didn’t have a date in a while, so he took you to a restaurant you never been to

you and him were stumbling side-by-side in laughter as you always do (he loves making you smile since he feels he can’t do anything better for you). ANYWAYS- you were walking through the town when all of the sudden a potted plant falls next to you

a what- “what is this cheap corny shit?” - ace when seeing a potted plant fall. he turns to you to make a joke when another falls ontop of you, knocking you unconscious. right?

he laughs at you, dick, then remembers that you don’t have magic…so no protection. oh no

he does that cheap corny shit, “hey wake up. this isn’t funny” becomes a mantra and the people are walking past him while he shakes your corpse, thinking he committed a murder or is being overdramatic

you hear his chanting and decide to “wake up”. you feel the ache on top of your head and pretend that you are waking up from a nap

he is stunned. he stops shaking you.

you sit up and ask if the date is still on the menu. he thinks you were doing a bit and slowly agrees, deep down not trusting it. “i am not a fucking ghost ace”

the day continues as normal till you are walking back to campus after watching the sunset. he walks you to the front door and you actually tell him that it wasn’t a prank. he stands in silence as you explain what happened and happens

you expect for him to kiss you on your cheek as he normally does, but he didn’t. he just nodded off and walked away. that really wounded you. i mean?? YOU should be the one upset you die?

he is kind of mad. sort of understandable i mean. if your significant other can die and come back to life and act like it’s no big deal, that seems like a problem. one you should have told him about from the beginning. he is also mad at himself for not realizing it sooner

after getting over himself (in like 3 days) with help from his good peers, mostly because they didn’t want to see you upset even more who cares about ace

he comes to you at your dorm late at night and apologizes. he even gave you one of trey’s tarts! how thoughtful. you honestly didn’t care about his apology just how he wasn’t mad at you for something out of your control

after that everything is mostly back to normal! the only difference is that ace becomes more perceptive about your mood, he always makes sure to check on you if you go and die on him once more

he also becomes less hesitant to do more lovey-dovey stuff with you

cuddles? yes. embarrassing moments like forcing him to eat when you feed him lunch? yes though he acts like he doesn’t like it

just don’t fake your death, for any reason. you will break him

overall, son of a bitch boyfriend actually becomes good?? well only because you blackmail him. a little bit more protective but you reassure him he is free to do as he please with you (god not like that)…unless you blackmail him

deuce:

troublemaker part 2 except with a cauldron. that’s all i have to say

he was so excited after he got his unique magic he couldn’t help but throw out whatever spells whenever he could (and to rub it in ace and grim’s faces)

and as his significant other you felt like a proud mom watching deuce grow

you and grim were fixing up ramshackle since another wooden beam fell on you and died again. it was getting annoying so you decided to do stuff about it. not to mention everyone berating your precious dorm from the training camp

unfortunately there was this one beam that was too high up for you. even with a chair..even with a table…. so you call up your sweet boyfriend to help you— totally not to see his shirt lift up

when he comes over in 6 minutes, you tell him about the heights you can’t reach. he eagerly is ready to help you with his big strong abilities (why am i blushing)

he whips out his magical pen and calls forth his trusty sidekick—a cauldron

i mean it was really nice in thought. you two would flip it over and he would hold you as you stand on it. it’s taller than a table so it works and you get held aww isn’t that cute-

you got crushed.

yknow that magic mirror grim doesn’t like you talking to cause it keeps him awake at night so he put it in the living room for timeout? well deuce’s magic bounced off it and hit you

he froze up seeing your crushed body. this man was agape and was about to convulse on the ground until you groaned

you WHAT

his body would immediately jerk into rescuing [name] mode—like a knight in shining armor that caused the problem

he would lift over the cauldron or destroy it. he then would think he was hallucinating your death until he saw ACTUAL blood covering your torso

he asked you how you got that much blood on you and were still living

“oh it did hurt. a lot. you know getting your entire ribcage crushed by a cauldron-“ *gasp*

so secrets out—not like you cared if anyone knew. it just makes you seem much more badass

he would distance himself from you after that event; knowing that you could die and come back to life. he wouldn’t be mad distancing like ace but more sad. the fact he cause part of your trauma :( like the school didnt

sorry bae but you would have to approach him, and don’t give a cheapshit response that “oh yeah i can come back to life” no you are explaining the backstory to your man

after reassuring him that he didn’t do any harm, you two would go back to normal

except he would hold back his strength a bit—like that’s gonna kill you. most of the time he doesn’t notice when he says dumb things that could get you hurt or when he gives you a longing tight hug before he goes to his club

poor baby is worried he is going to kill you again :(

you have to reassure him that you are okay physically and mentally. just don’t tell you him you feel the pain of dying, poor baby will up the protectiveness; any magic flying your way or bullies, he will punch them and awkwardly smile at you

overall, concerned with your well-being and will do whatever you ask him to

crowley:

unlike the first years, he already knew probably cause he caused it

you didn’t tell him at all cause he is very suspicious but he knew?? and just like the dad he is, he made you tell him as if you were in trouble and responsible

good thing he has a mask cause when you were explaining this cause haha he was dying inside

good thing he has a mask cause if you ever died right in front of him he would be crying

he begrudgingly told the other teachers to monitor you. he didn’t tell them your condition cause he didn’t want to make you uncomfortable; plus, it’s good you get comfortable in your own skin

you think he was a dad figure before this?? nah. he is Dad now

deep down the sadistic side of him slows down his process of sending you back home just to find out how you die and live

ANYWAYS. as if he didn’t already, he would treat you better than his other students (less blackmail)

he would be more protective of you in certain moods

as much as he loves you as a beast-tamer, he would check up on you very frequently: asking how you have been feeling, doing physically/mentally, and anything new in your life

he becomes your therapist

at first, you think something of it. he didn’t seem to dig too much of his efforts to get you back home so why does he care now?

there begins to arise a certain level of trust. you begin to tell him some things you can’t tell your friends, and in response, he performs a little perk for you

this all happened after vil’s overblot. the fact that grim scratched you really hurt and you felt that you couldn’t tell deuce or ace because they were exhausted from the show. they didn’t want to hear more complaints and whining, so you barged into the headmaster’s office

this changes you and him. he sees you as not just one possible pawn, but an actual human who can’t do anything by themself. the domineering supportive aura you gave finally cracked, and now he saw it

all the overblots, stranger in a strange land, grim, and the ability of reincarnation. it’s too much for one person. you told him basically everything

he is proud of your stability

he even takes you to new places for some bonding/recovering after overblots or major stress episodes

overall, as the other two, very concerned, but uses his social power to pull some strings just for you. at first, you guys weren’t close but after some traumatic experiences you found a good supportive figure

bonus! poly adeuce:

it happened right after vil’s overblot had finally died down. you helped command your friends to take up their magic pens to save the day, again. except when the stage collapsed, you also collapsed as well..just under the stage

everything was in the blink of an eye. vil returned to normal, ceremonial talk and wishing for a hug, and then award time!

that’s what ace and deuce were thinking. what they didn’t expect was to see you taking a walk outside to breath and then being crushed from the light beams

they freaked out. terribly.

their cries of terror and panic alerted the scarabia duo and the pomefiore trio (but the didn’t go cause vil and it’s adeuce screaming)

all the two second years saw were ace and deuce desperately trying to dig you out, even though they knew you were long gone.

you were their best friend! their lover! the one person who relied on them in a fog of confusion! the one who teased them, squabbled, calmed them-

“oh hey they’re right there.”

they didn’t expect to see you sitting up in front of them in the rubble—poker faced.

your ears also had to be reincarnated that day

they would be very traumatized but would recover quicker than in singles because they have each other and you to help one another. it’s scary but hey you’re all first years so it’s the first time for everything

as before, deuce would want to give you space but with ace’s brash and blunt nature, he convinced all of you to talk it out

after that they would be super confused and worried for your sake (same as if it was separate). but since the three of you are together, the two strong-headed boys agree on one thing without any retribution: keeping you safe.

your stoic and unnerved nature towards the topic just wants to make them coddle you even more <33

besides the general worry-wart part (i mean who wouldn’t be), they would ask crowley and crewel about your situation with general curiosity. deuce would want to ask how to reverse it but it clashes with ace’s dramatic attitude about wanting to see you in action (let’s be real he wants it gone too in the end)

overall, protective and clingy boys who bounce off one another, leading to solving and causing all your problems quicker! no more hesitating to cuddle you now <33 or else you’ll threaten with your death and never coming back

PSA regarding tumblr’s latest Censorship Nightmare

For those of you who haven’t seen this announcement, tumblr recently made some changes to the iOS version of the app, purportedly to comply with Apple’s content guidelines. These changes took effect on Dec 21, starting in version 22.5.1 of the iOS app. As some of you may recall, Apple’s strict guidelines were the driving force for the infamous Great Purge of 2018, which coincidentally also happened around this time of year, but it seems banning all of the female-presenting nipples wasn’t good enough for Apple.

Below is a summary of the important changes. Note that these changes technically ONLY affect those using the iOS app. If you’re accessing tumblr through a different app or operating system (Google Chrome, Android app, etc) it won’t affect you directly but it will affect your followers who use iOS so you should definitely be aware of it.

The list of banned tags has been expanded. As before, there’s no way to know which words or phrases have been banned until you try searching for them, in which case you’ll either get no search results or the following message: “This content has been hidden because of potentially suggestive or explicit content.” You may think this doesn’t concern you if you don’t post explicit material, but do not make the mistake of expecting the banned tags to be logical or reasonable. I’ve already encountered multiple completely innocuous posts (random fandom gifsets) that seem to be hidden on iOS for no discernible reason.

Blogs that have been flagged as explicit can no longer be viewed. Previously, flagged blogs just had their posts hidden from searches, but if you knew the username you could still visit it after clicking through a warning about sensitive content. Now you can’t access it at all.

Likes and reblogs from blogs that have been flagged will no longer show up in your notes. This one won’t affect most people’s user experience as much as the others, but it does mean you may be missing notes. It’s unclear if likes and reblogs from flagged blogs will still count towards the overall note total (and only be missing from the activity feed and note viewer) but I suspect that’s the case.

THE BIG ONE: ANY POST TAGGED WITH A BANNED TAG WILL NO LONGER SHOW UP ON YOUR DASHBOARD. Previously, if you tagged a post with a banned word or phrase (even if the words were used inside another tag), that post would not show up in searches, but your followers would still be able to see it on their dashboard. Now those posts are hidden from your own followers as well. This includes both original posts and reblogs. And if that wasn’t bad enough, here’s the real kicker: even if you don’t tag something with one of the banned words, if the OP used a banned tag, any reblogs of that post will not show up on anyone’s dashboard (on the iOS app). The only saving grace here, and I hate to even call it that, is that the blocked posts are still visible if you visit a blog directly or if you have post notifications turned on.

As usual, tumblr was extremely unclear and evasive about all of this in their official announcement. Not surprising, of course, since if more people were aware of these new draconian tactics I can’t imagine there wouldn’t be more of an uproar about it. Tumblr claims that these changes are somewhat temporary and that they are currently working on something that will allow for a less restricted iOS experience, but they refuse to say what that something is and when it will be implemented. And let’s just say, considering their track record, I’m not hopeful.

All of this is horrible and infuriating for many reasons, but the worst part is how insanely counterproductive it is to creating the “safe” environment tumblr (or more specifically Apple) supposedly wants.

Tags have always been used for both blog organization and filtering purposes. Tagging posts with triggers and content warnings is a common practice that gives users the ability to filter out content they may find upsetting or just don’t don’t want to see for whatever reason. By choosing to ban a bunch of unlisted “sensitive content” tags, all they’re doing is encouraging people who want to share that kind of content to come up with alternative less well-known tags or simply not tag that content at all anymore if they want it to show up on their follower’s dashboards, thereby making it more likely for someone to encounter it when they didn’t want to.

So really, with all of the alleged concern for safety and “protecting the children,” all they’ve done is make tumblr less safe for everyone. Typical.
