Thank you so much for the ask, @elsie-writes!
Writing and developing my story ideas. I've just had two new story ideas - one that could potentially be a neat standalone dark fantasy fairytale book and another that is more of an urban fantasy/teen horror sitcom style series. Plus I'm just so excited about my current main WIP, Of Starlight and Beasts! I can't wait to share more about it!
Watching good movies, listening to music and drawing!
Playing DnD with my friends, watching DnD related content including Critical Role
My two adorable cats and my three doggos 💕
Spending quality time with my loved ones and feeling generally happy with life again (:

MY QUESTIONS WERE:
Is there anything that would make you lose trust in others?
Do you think anyone could love you?
If you could relive one day, which one would it be?
YOUR QUESTIONS ARE:
Where is your favorite place in the world?
What food do you hate the most?
Do you like watching sunsets or sunrises?
The characters answering will be Corah and Scarlet from Of Starlight and Beasts, Renn from my still-unnamed fairytale fantasy WIP, and Sam Delaways from Enchanted Illusions!
1. Is there anything that would make you lose trust in others?
Corah - Betrayal, abandonment and dishonesty are pretty far up on the list, along with unwarranted cruelty, people who like to make others feel uncomfortable, or those with a just generally jerkass attitude.
Scarlet - Finding out that person works for the King, or is too buddy-buddy with the constabulary in the city usually sets off all of my alarms all at once. I also cannot stand cowards, liars and people who cannot be trusted to hide a secret.
Renn - Hmm. I guess that being lied to or used by someone tends to be what breaks the deal, but I also lose trust in people who are too indecisive, or whom I know would choose the set laws and rules over the wellbeing of individuals.
Sam - Trust is important, alright, but it ain't more important than staying safe. I tend to give people a lot of chances before fully losing all trust in 'em. I think what would make me lose trust really fast is finding out someone is sadistic or cruel to innocent people, or discovering someone I trusted had intentionally hid something important from me.
2. Do you think anyone could love you?
Corah - ... I sure hope so? Haha. Asking the hard hitting questions, are we now? But on a serious note, I think that almost anyone who is good - or willing to become good through effort - deserves love. I strive to be a good person and help others whenever I can - I just hope this is enough...
Scarlet - Yes, absolutely! I am a delight to be around. I think. I have lots of friends, and my sister and I have a really close bond. The love for one's family is one of the most special ties in the world, and I wouldn't ask for anything more.
Renn - I think so, if they ever get to know me beyond what the rumors and scare stories of the villagers will have you believe. Most don't. I don't really care - but some days I just wish more people gave me a chance.
Sam - Yep. I have two little brothers who say that I'm their hero! While in my opinion that is very flattering on its own, I'm very thankful to have them both in my life, despite most things not going as planned. Don't know what I would do without 'em.
3. If you could relive one day, which one would it be?
Corah - The day I met Arammys. I know its two days before my whole life was thrown upside down, but that day was perfect. Not only was it the day I met my closest friend, and current boyfriend, but everything was so perfectly normal - almost like everything was going to go exactly as I expected. Turns out they didn't, but that's not the point.
Scarlet - The day I taught Nimwen how to shoot the bow and arrow, and I stole a cherry cake from a shop in town that lasted us two whole days. That was a pretty great day given our standards. I'd love to relive it.
Renn - Hmm. The days before my Dad went on the voyage that got him killed. Before I had to figure out how to survive alone away from our land and villagers with torches and pitchforks became the biggest threat to my way of life. We were happy, and I was just a little kid having the time of my life with a parent cared about me. That was great! Or used to be.
Sam - I dunno. Days are all pretty similar in Strystead - an endless grind of work, survival and learning to stay out of trouble. My happiest moments are the ones where I get to just spend free time with my little brothers without having to work myself to the bone in the factories. Those days are rare though, and will likely keep getting rarer - because the Mayor sure ain't about to pay working folk a proper salary, but that's a whole other issue.

"We thought it was all very wonderful, and it was for a while. Coming here, to the capital, seeing all of these beautiful places, meeting so many new people." Roselyn mused, twirling the ribbon of her between her fingers, her gaze a million miles away. "But then I started to notice something was terribly strange with that town and all of those people. And that's when Jasen disappeared - and then I was sure something was wrong. I wish I wasn't. I wish I had done something when I first realized something was off."
"Yeah, that sounds like the Capital alright. Unfortunately." Renn nods, with a sigh. "Well. Look at the bright side - at least you've got out of that place, and we're alive, for now. That ought to count for something - they didn't get to you or I, and as long as we're free, we can do something about it. The Royals think they own the world, maybe its past time someone showed them how foolish that notion is. What do you say?"

And the answer is: the lie is number three! You guys got it right! Scarlet knows his real name (his actual name is Thom/Thomas) but he prefers to use his childhood nickname (Scarlet) as a name instead. It was a choice he made mostly for the sake of anonymity (keeping them more easily hidden from potential bounty hunters or assassins sent after them) but also because he actually really preferred his nickname over his actual name.
Scarlet did indeed save Nimwen on the day her father was executed, sparing her from a similar fate by taking her away from the crowds before the King's knights could get to her. They ran away into the woods of the realm, where they survived the next decades as outlaws, trying to not be captured by the bounty hunters and knights sent to finish the job.
Scarlet was orphaned at a young age, but his intellect and curiosity for knowledge got the attention of a young noble - Nimwen's father - who took him in as his apprentice and adopted him as his son. Nimwen's father saw Scarlet's potential and hoped the boy could also be his successor in his studies of magic, while Nimwen followed a more political route (if she chose so when she grew up). But it wouldn't be longer until their lives fell apart - with Nimwen's father being wrongfully executed for treason and the siblings forced to run away.

Wild Rushes

A @flashfictionfridayofficial fanfic, original work.
This rocky pool was one my mother had warned me from using for laundry or swimming several times, but I always wondered why. It looked so warm and inviting even in the winter. I often sat on sunny and cloudy days alike watching its waters ripple as though there was something inside it beyond just minnows or frogs. Until a few moons after my nineteenth name day when I heard singing from it.
The voice was high, beautiful, and almost seemed to echo. I approached it carefully from our house nearby when I first noticed the sound, but after a few steps I lost myself to the melody that enticed me. The one who held the voice was beyond anything I had ever seen: long, sea-green hair that curtained over bare blue skin; eyes that looked milky but narrowed into a glance of understanding when they saw me; and an outstretched spindly hand with fingers that seemed far too long for any other creature I knew.
I did not understand the words of the song but I knew I was being called to the water. I did not bother undressing. I did not think of my mother's warnings. The only thing I did was reach out in return for this creature to whom my heart entirely belonged in that moment.
My clothes clung to me almost as desperately as she did when our lips met. Her melody seemed to hum through her blood, her hair wrap around me. I was up to my neck in this pool— indeed it was warm, like I knew it would be— and then she pulled me under.
I scrabbled around while she clutched me tighter than I thought possible, but her body slipped out of my grasp. The pressure of being underwater was pulling the air out of my lungs as I spluttered through the kiss. But she did not let go. When she finally loosed her grip on me I saw her smile. It was ruthless and jagged like the monsters I had heard sailors describe when they talked about what they called “rusalka”.
My body demanded I get up to the surface but she had dragged me so much further than I had realized; how far did this little pool go? I struggled to move both arms and legs, too late realizing my feet were tangled in her hair. She gave me a once-over like I was a lover she was courting in private, bared her body to me, and bubbles escaped our mouths: Mine in horror, hers in a laugh.
Eventually I felt myself give up, though my mind still told me to swim. I sank to the depths of the pool still half-aware of the movements I made. My captor circled me once more before I remembered my mother's words. ”She drowned a long time ago and she's looking to have someone join her. Be careful, boy. I don't want it to be you.“
