Two black trash bags of inky cap mushrooms + three years + a few secret ingredients = this much pigment and this much ink. I couldn’t help myself so I mixed up a small test batch of casein paint and had a little play. It’s very much a brown-black.

28: “fall.” Playing catch-up for missing yesterday’s due to family stuff.
This year was weird. I felt like I finished a lot until I went to look for the things I finished, and then it didn’t feel like nearly as I thought. However, I think I’ve done fairly well for it having been a bit of a rough year for me, and I picked up steam in the second half. Here’s hoping 2018 will be better.
Finals are over. I get time to work on stuff again. I’m playing around with charcoal for the first time in years.
