Two more ‘People’

"there are two figures, I suggest you respect them" He says, the female student is about to ask before he glares in her direction so he can continue "one is a demon, the other an angel" "this again, sir?" the female (her name is written in big block letter on her badge, HANNAH) asks "yes, 'this again'. why, did you not like the last time?" He asks coldly. the two boys (TYLER and SAMSON respectively) both groan in protest. He just smiles, his sharp teeth glinting in the harsh light "I suggest you begin quickly, not only is it hard to get both of them here, it's even harder to keep them in here, from destroying anything, or attacking each other" The three students, the boys dragged by Hanna, enter the room. A last word of warning- 'don't make them angry' is muttered from their teacher as the door slides shut behind the teenaged students. Two modestly dressed women sit at a grey table in the grey room, neither looking at the other. One woman is in a baby pink, the other in baby blue, both are looking at their clothes with disgust. The one in pink is drumming her nails on the metal table, which clearly gets on the others' nerves. The one in blue is tapping her foot on the floor, which doesn't seem to bother the other in the slightest. Samson is about to speak up when the one in blue speaks up "Hello children-" she's cut off by the other "relax dearie, don't give anything away. You heard his threats, and men like that don't make hallow promises" the one in pink shows no emotion as she speaks, Hannah is already writing things down as Tyler watches her in confusion. Samson is looking at the two women, enraptured by their beauty. "you two are so pretty it must be a sin" Samson says, Tyler face palms and Hannah chokes back a laugh. The woman in pink lets a sly smile grace her face and the other seems only disgusted "you are sinful, aren't you child?" the one in Blue says "aww, be quiet darling, he's only complementing our utterly sinful features" the one in pink purrs, chuckling slightly. The one in blue groans Hannah clears her throat, getting everyones' attention "anyway, hello, I'm Han, this is Ty and Sam" she points as she says their names "please ignore any.... suggestive thing they may say" "come on Han, you have to admit, they do look pretty" Sam practically begs, Ty scoffs. "that's because of what they are, demons are- wait, hey, aren't angels supposed to be like, really terrifying?" Ty asks (no one knows how he got into this class, he certainly doesn't have the brainpower for The Test) "Ty don't be-" Hannah is cut off by both women chuckling "well dear child, if we want we can look however we want" the one in blue purrs "... we?" Sam sounds confused, which he is "of course!" the one in pink says, throwing her arms up for flair. There's the sound of dragging chains and the flash of metal, yet none can be properly seen "demons are only angels that fell, correct my feathered friend?" she purrs, voice dripping with false kindness "Please never call me that again, my friend" the one in blue hisses, hostility clear on their voice, the one in Pink seems unconcerned "well... let us just ask a few questions, alright? We have a school project and-" Ty starts, the one in pink interrupting "yes yes, school project, He already told us, right Queeny~" the pink one purrs, 'Queeny', the one in blue, rolls her eyes and scowls "Yeah he told us, but since when have you listened to anyone, Princess?" 'princess', the one in pink, frowns at the (nick?) name, her sly smile quickly returns "Ah, yes, but i should ask you the same thing, shouldn't i? I believe you'll fall soon, or have you fallen already?" the one in Pink leans back, propping her feet up on the table "you decide, dearies, which is she? Fallen or falling?" "You shut up!" the one in blue stands up quickly, slamming their hands on the table. The sound of metal hitting metal, and metal hitting concrete sound along with chains moving. No chains are seen. The chair was upended in the one in blues' speed standing up "Oh? What was that Queeny? do you not like my games? You used to love them so~" "Shut up Princess! Now is not the time for those games!" The one in blue is flushed, face bright pink "Oh? I've got you all flustered, don't I Queeny~" the one in pink purrs Hannah clears her throat, loudly. The two women quiet, both turning to glare at her "yes. well, can we start with our questions before we run out of time?" Hannah asks, annoyance edging in her tone. the one in blue rights her chair, sitting back down with a nod. the one in pink sits straighter, nodding for a start "great so-" ty starts, Sam cuts him off "You know you got nothin' , you just stay quiet." Sam says, ty frowns "Anyway, so can I have your names?" Hannah asks "they've been thrown around a few times, surprised you didn't get them already" The one in pink says with a bored sigh. the one in blue says nothing "Queeny and princess?" Ty asks, Sam looks at him with something conveying the same thought as 'how dumb are you really?' "That's right dear" the one in blue responds, both women start to fidget with their clothing. The one in pink with her skirt and the one in blue with her shirt "So... what did he threaten if you didn't obey?" Hannah asks "Can't say" the one in blue says "pain unmatchable" the one in pink says, after a moment of thought "I see... and how did he get you here?" Hannah is writing things down the entire time "Summoned one of us" the one in blue says "And got her to, ahem, retrieve the other" pink says, leaning back with her feet on the table "Hey Han? I think I know" Sam says, Hannah looks up, surprised "Really?" She asks, to which Sam nods "Alright, go ahead" "I think Pink is the demon" Sam says "Because she's careless and mean" "I'm not mean darling" the one in pink says "I'm just sassy and cold" "Surprising for one who lives in hell" the one in blue says, rolling her eyes "Whatever you say Queeny" the one in pink says with a smirk The students are relived, their grade is safe for today

She was a Shadow

She was a shadow. That's what she had always been, and believed she would always be. Just a simple shadow. She wasn't anyone's shadow but her own, and that somehow made it worse. She’d go about her days, her weeks, her months, and years- but how many saw her? How many truly saw her? To most, she was naught but a ghost. A hint of what could have been. She was a shadow. A ghost. A lost soul.

She was a shadow. But she still had a life. She still had friends, or so she thought. She would talk and laugh, but was so easily forgotten by those who saw her. To her, time would simply stand still. How long had they been gone? Been rude? Been ignoring her? She couldn't say. But she was almost always happy to pick up right where they had left off. From a few hours, to years, she’d welcome anyone with open arms. She was a shadow, but her heart was everything to her. Always welcoming, always happy.

She was a shadow, with a big heart. She attracted the wrong crowd, but always did her best to help. She tore herself apart, shredded her heart. She was left empty and bleeding so often, she couldn't try anymore. If someone needed help, she couldn't. It hurt. It hurt too much. She was the leftover remains of a shadow. The hint of a ghost. The glimpse of the last of someone. She still had her heart.

She was a shadow, a ghost, a soul. She was a helper, a lover, a rock to hold to when the tide gets too rough. But the shadow was broken by light, the ghost banished, the soul left behind. The help went unthanked, the love was used, and the rock broke.

And she was nothing

She was nothing. Had not mind, nor body, nor heart left to her. She was just It. There was nothing to it, and it was to nothing.

It loved and lost, and laughed and cried, and wished and hoped and prayed

It was foolish, and kind, and smart

It was loving and caring

But it was not missed.

Once

Everyone has a once. Once upon a time. Once upon a midnight dreary. Once I..... Everyone lives once, we all get this one chance before we're thrown into something entirely new. Everyone has a special once, one you remember forever after. What's yours?

"She promised she would never hurt herself again, she broke the promise, but not for the first time"

Produce an emotionally moving one-sentence story.
