I pretend to be okay

I pretend to be okay, so that my friends aren’t afraid to tell me their problems I pretend to be strong, so that people won’t worry about me being okay when they’re gone I pretend to be tough, so that people won’t make fun of me. But I laugh when they do, so that I look like I have a sense of humor I pretend I’m fine, so that people will tell me when they’re not When I’m asked if I’m pretending, I say no. Because I’m pretending to myself too. I pretend to be okay, so that my friends aren’t afraid to tell me their problems. Because I’m too afraid to tell them mine.

What I've always wanted

Want to know what I’ve always wanted? A book. But not just any book, I want a special book. One that describes words and their meanings. No, no not a dictionary. What I want is more… more of a story, but a story that defines and describes words. But in the way that ‘Color of a ruby in early morning’s glow’ explains the color red. I guess what I really want is a book that tells me words, like a writer would. How an Author can take a single word, phrase, or scene, and turn it into art itself. Like, say a sun set. You could just say ‘the sunset was nice, it’s beautiful colors crossing the sky’ but an author would say ‘The sunset was beautiful, with it’s pinks, purples, and yellows streaking across the sky in a brilliant display’ See? It’s beautiful, isn’t it? So wouldn’t a dictionary written like this be amazing? I bet it would be, so can we work together to do this? Or anyone do something to make this happen?

Vultures

In the sky circled a single vulture overhead. The group rushed off to see what it was after, was it their lost friend? Any of their horses? They ran to see what lay under the birds’ gaze. It was nothing more than an old cow, probably escaped form one of the farms not too far from here. After a few more days of walking the group has realized their mistake. They never should have gone into the desert, even if it was to find treasure they were very ill prepared. Soon they were lost one member of their team, than another. The reason they were dying or left behind varied, There was dehydration, starvation, one or two went insane. It got to the point where there was only one left. Only one person left to look for the treasure they had set out to find. Only one person left to find their lost friend and supplies. Only one person left- They fall. Dehydration, over exertion, sleep deprivation, starvation. They wonder what has killed them, until they realize they’re not dying yet. Their limbs hurt too much to move, than they see a sight they never wanted to see. In the sky, circled a single Vulture overhead.

Welcome to Unaround

Today was gloomy, not that that’s unusual though. It’s always dark in Unaround. Sorry, I’m getting ahead of myself I’m Elisabith I’m usually the first to welcome new Strangers here. And before you get uptight that is the proper name because both People and Horrors live here. And well, when I say horrors I mean monsters, demons, and such. All can find a home here in Unaround if they’re unlucky enough. I’m getting ahead of myself again, so the Strangers get here on The Train. It comes here weekly with new and confused Strangers. And When I say Unlucky enough it’s your choice where you end up, they just stopped announcing the stops. They randomly let the Strangers walk out with their bags and let them figure out what’s going on and let me tell them where they are. You may be saying ‘Why don’t they just go back on the train, and go somewhere else’ well, everyone comes with a one way ticket. Sometimes you can get another ticket by doing something grand. But no matter how grand it is it had to be a very long time after you’ve arrived. Anyway, I’m getting off track again. Sometimes, when we’re very lucky a StoryTeller is on the Train too. StoryTellers are the only ones who can travel freely across the three towns, they can come from any town but mostly they come from Normal. Sometimes from Uraway though.  I’ve actually only heard stories about Uraway and Normal but they sound amazing. Uraway with its Gigantic red and black towers, and trees made of stone. But Normal with its flowering Green and Blue Trees, and small softly colored houses. Both of them sound beautiful and amazing compared to Unaround’s Gray on gray color scheme and the trees that don’t exist.  I’m sorry but that’s as much time as I’m allowed to have at the booth, Have a nice day!
