I’ve rewatched the new op like ten times now, and only just now have I noticed that THIS IS A ROULETTE WHEEL

OMG THAT’S SO FUCKING SMART

KAISER GET OFF THE FIELD
inspired by this meme lmao

The latest chapter of the manga has brought back the true meaning of "Blue Lock."
The stakes are higher and almost everyone is clawing out of their way to make it to the top.
It's a reminiscent of the first and second selection arcs where no one is spared. You like Kira? Too bad because he got eliminated first. Want to see Nagi and Reo teaming up in second selection? Not gonna happen anytime soon as Nagi was walking away with Isagi's team to their next match. Wanna see Naruhaya make it? Having a great backstory and reason to join the program doesn't make you have a plot armor to push through because you don't have enough talent and skill just like with the geniuses and prodigies out there.
And it's the same for Isagi too. He is not immune to any obstacles that he is facing today. It's already foreshadowed by Ego in the previous chapter.

This is going to happen sooner or later. Also, interesting note is that it's the second time that Isagi had misunderstood someone's true intentions in this match. It happened with Kiyora before when he thought that he was going to pass the ball to him and not with Kaiser. He looked genuinely surprised for a moment. And in the second moment of clarity, he now realized that Noa was using him too to tap and awakened Kaiser to his full potential.
Now how Isagi would react to all of this is the interesting part in the next chapter. I'm seeing theories circulating online that he *might* get a mental breakdown like with Ness, put him into a clearer perspective and made Noa realized that he won't be just a stepping stone for him by doing some crazy but amazing moves once again or him signing up for Dortmund after this match and play against BM in the future (this is the first team who has shown interest to him in this arc. And if I remembered correctly wasn't Dortmund his favorite team back then?)
It's not a farfetched idea for one of these things could happen. But then again, this is Blue Lock we're talking about. Some unpredictable things could be happening soon.
Also, I'm not really mad at Noa. It just showed and proved on why he was the current top one in the franchise. He's a real egoist. You don't just survived and make it to the top by being physically skilled on your own.
I also highly disagree with him not caring about Isagi. He took interest in Isagi because of out the Blue Lock players, he had shown potential the most and he was a proactive player. Isagi doesn't wait for things to be handed out to him. He seeks his opinion and advise on soccer related things.
To your perspective, this was a cold, calculating move from Noa. But in all honesty, Noa had just done what is logically for the best and this is how he could tap out both Isagi and Kaiser's potential and ego.
The author also might be showing that Isagi needs to stop seeing Noa as his idol and mentor.
But rather a rival as well in the same vein as Rin and Kaiser.
Because if you want to become the world's number 1 striker then you have to beat the current world's number 1 and that is Noel Noa himself.
The author cooked in this chapter and I couldn't be any more glad of it 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

BLLK 278. THE NOEL NOA AND ISAGI YOICHI DEBATE

{Images taken from @gojoracle 's post}
And the thing is I think Isagi's genuinely wrong here Noel Noa Was on his side, but not for the reasons he thinks. Noel was on his side because he NEEDED to make Isagi stronger, to bring him upto Michael's level, to force Michael to evolve. For the sake of his own evolution.
[But also he could have picked anyone from bluelock for this, he specifically picked Yoichi, because he saw the most potential in him, otherwise he coulda picked up Yukimiya or fuckin Kunigami even, HE PICKED YOICHI FOR A REASON, BECAUSE YOICHI HAD THE MOST GODDAMN POTENTIAL. THE MOST DRIVE. HE SAW THAT.]
But it's fuckin Blue Lock, that's what these people do, all of them. That's the * harsh reality * of the core, the essence of what blue lock is. They're ALL SELFISH SONS OF BITCHES. OF COURSE. THEY HAVE TO BE. THEY MUST
That being said, I think Noel genuinely likes Isagi's spirit, his skill, his adaptability, he respects him as a player. And of coursse he knows how exactly to use that to benefit himself, because he's NO. 1 Striker, and you don't get there by being a nice person. You get there by being a cold. selfish. bastard. An EGOIST.
Anyway so yea, that's it for todays rant
They say “never meet your idols”
((Big spoilers for ch 278))
I KNEW IT
I FUCKING KNEW IT

IT WAS HIS PLAN ALL ALONG TO CONSTANTLY PRESSURE KAISER SO HE’D EVOLVE I’M LOSING MY FUCKING MINDDDD

It feels so good to be so right
POV: Itoshi Rin, probably
Looks like we’ll be getting extra ryurin content bc these shots are definitely not from additional time

Wtf are they even doing they’re so stupid (affectionate)
We got new leaks for the season 2 op and THEY LOOK SOOO GOOD OMG

Seems like we will get a similar art-style to the second op which I loved very much
Tbh I really don’t care about the animation as long as they get the pacing right and adapt every scene faithfully, I feel so hyped for the first ep tomorrow!!
Hold on I just realized… that Nagis number was also 11 while the BM vs Manshine game was happening… Guess I will write an analysis on that as well lol
Even if it might be a reach, it will be good for media literacy practice i guess
Soo I just noticed in the recent chapter that Loki’s number is 10 on his uniform… which made me pretty surprised, as I was certain that Rin had that number on PXG.

Now, this all made me think about how the current match could possibly go, since the uniform numbers are VERY important regarding Isagi’s development.
In the U-20 arc we see Isagi for the first time wearing the number 11, which he has stuck with ever since, and we see Rin wearing the number 10. But why is this important?
Right at the beginning of the NEL arc, after the BM vs Barcha game, we see Isagi acknowledge the fact that right now he can’t challenge Noa as a striker. What he has to do to get into the zone, is to challange Kaiser instead, whose skills in terms of quality are in between those of Noa’s and Isagi’s.

And this established hierarchy is reinforced visually as well: Isagi’s current number is 11 —> Kaiser is a better, but still comprehensible 10 —> Noa is the currently unbeatable 9.
Now, I think we can apply this symbolism to the U-20 game as well. Rin and Sae, while both better and more skilled, are still usable puzzle pieces for Isagi: he understands their playstyle (Sae destroys beautifully, Rin destroys hideously) and he manages to one up them both by the end of the match by scoring the winning goal. And what a coincidence that both Itoshi’s have the number 10 on their jerseys.
However, in the current PXG vs BM game Isagi is having trouble comprehending Rin.

He just so manages to grab onto something about putting his life on the line, but that is not nearly enough to stop Rin, as he still manages to do the unthinkable, and score by colliding with Isagi.
Which is why I think that the key to defeat PXG lies in the challenge that is Loki. Rin became a 9 that is too far away, and based on my theory Loki is the appropriate hurdle in Isagi’s way that he should focus on overcoming. Which might seem crazy, as he is already a master striker, but Blue Locks visual symbolism obviously points to this conclusion. I mean Kaneshiro could have just chosen any other number for Lokis uniform…
Also, it would make more sense narratively for Isagi to still have Rin as a well established, but unbeaten rival by the end of the NEL. Based on how manga tropes usually go, this would be much more logical going into the U-20 World Cup arc than Isagi being the top player on the team.
Anyhow, it’s also highly possible that PXG will win this match. In that case the rivalry and competition between Isagi and Kaiser would also be unresolved, as they would both be left with an equal amount of goals. This would make the most sense actually, to still have an unbeaten Kaiser and Rin for the World Cup arc.
Wind Breaker is one of my favorite shonen because it doesn't feel like a shonen at all and it's just a psycho-analysis of traumatized teenagers in gangs. And they're also gay.

I need to see art of Isagi , Rin and Kaiser covered in each other’s blood , while kissing sloppily

bastard münchen game night ⚔️

Ah yes, the epic battle of the one who destroys hideously and the one who’s just… hideous.

Imagine how funny it would be if Igaguri just kept fouling whichever PXG player is the closest to scoring, and thus becoming the ultimate wall of defence for BM
Hi hello i’m anon, it took a while to find the thread bc my stupid ass didn’t save it before, but here it is if anyone’s interested about being traumatized w knowledge lmao

I wish I could unsee that one twitter thread about how Kaiser and Mick Moon (Snuffys friend) apparently have a fuckton of parallels… now all I see are red flags when I reread certain chapters😭
