Stop saying “the intrusive thoughts won” when you bleach your hair and then turn your nose up at people who suffer from very real, very scary urges of physical/sexual violence. Stop saying “I’m so OCD” as a way of calling yourself neat. Stop treating BPD/ASPD/Bipolar as inherently abusive. Stop saying “OP I am living in your walls” without tagging for unreality. Stop diagnosing complete strangers you’ve never met on r/AITA with NPD.

You first. If you don’t want our disabilities to be treated like trends then stop belittling and minimising them. I’ll NEVER judge a person for trying find labels for their symptoms when an apathetic, racist, sexist, ableist healthcare system refuses to. But I will absolutely judge a hypocrite. I want to share some advice given to me by my mother, who has been writing longer than I have been alive, and is one of the wisest people I've ever met.

I was emotional and upset and told her "I'm burnt out and tired, and I think I may stop writing entirely."

Writers write not always because they like it, but because they have a gift and a curse to tell stories. When you keep it inside of yourself, it will find a way to get out whether you like it or not. It's not up to you. Take a break, allow your stories to rest, and when they are ready they will try to break free again."

I see people fearful that they get to a point where they will never put words to paper again. But the truth is once you find a story to tell, your story, it won't stay inside of you until it's finished. Isn't that magical? Isn't that beautiful?
