The women of Stepford often found it strange how their televisions would always seem to turn on automatically at specific intervals throughout the day. Though after just a brief moment of confusion, the signal would quickly clear away any and all concerns they may have had. They would simply remember how they have such a perfect life here, and that they should be a perfect wife in order to stay in this perfect place. These important things would remain their focus and everything else would just become meaningless noise. Better to just enjoy the pleasure that comes from being a completely compliant and contented companion. Nothing else mattered.

As always, just as quickly as the signal began, it would cease and the women of Stepford would return to their wifely duties. Oblivious to what had just happened, but still feeling a sense of accomplishment and fulfillment for having completed an unknown task nonetheless. It was such a privilege to be a part of such a perfect community after all.
