Moonlit Embrace
Moonlit Embrace

Jel walked down the pathway by the shore, admiring the colors of the sky and the sparkling water. It was a moment before he noticed Seraphina.
“Oh! Hello, human. I was just admiring the sea. How are you?” he asked, a friendly smile lighting up his face.
Seraphina smiled warmly at the tailor. "Hello, Jel. I'm doing well, thank you. The sea looks beautiful tonight, doesn't it?" she replied, her gaze shifting to the shimmering water.
"Ah, isn't it simply gorgeous?" Jel sighed dreamily, gazing out into the ocean. "The moonlight has always calmed me. Its soft, soothing glow makes all my worries disappear, if only for a brief moment."
Seraphina nodded, a serene smile playing on her lips. "It truly is," she agreed, her eyes following the gentle waves illuminated by the moon. "There's something magical about the way moonlight dances on the water. It makes everything feel... lighter."
Jel chuckled softly at her choice of words, his eyes dancing with a teasing sparkle. "Indeed. But I believe the term you're looking for is 'ethereal.' Moonlight isn't the only enchanting thing about this evening."
Seraphina felt a warmth spread through her at his words, her cheeks flushing slightly. She laughed softly, meeting his gaze with a playful smile. "Ethereal, you say? I think you might be right," she replied, her tone light and teasing. "Though I have to say, your company certainly adds to the enchantment."
Jel’s eyes lit up as he smiled at her words. He laughed, placing his hand on his chest as he regained his composure. "You flatter me. You certainly know how to make a man's face turn red," he grinned.
"I find your company rather bewitching as well. I can't help but gaze upon you every time I pass you, as if your image has been implanted into my eye."
Seraphina felt her cheeks flush a deeper shade of pink, a bashful smile spreading across her face. She looked down for a moment, composing herself before meeting his gaze again. "You're too kind, Jel," she said softly, her voice warm with sincerity. "But it's the same for me. Your presence is like a breath of fresh air, and I find myself looking forward to our encounters."
She stepped a little closer, her dress swaying gently with the movement. Seraphina wore a simple yet elegant outfit: a flowing white dress adorned with delicate floral embroidery that reflected the evening sky's soft hues. The dress had a cinched waist, highlighting her figure, and flowed down to her ankles, giving her an ethereal appearance. Her long, wavy hair framed her face, catching the moonlight and adding magic to her look.
Her eyes, a striking magenta with gold flecks, met Jel's, and she smiled gently.
Jel couldn't help but feel a strong pulse of attraction at that moment, his heart beating loud and fast beneath his clothing. He took another step forward, tilting his head slightly as he looked down at Seraphina. He glanced at her beautiful dress once more, before looking into her eyes, and smiling nervously.
"This is a bit forward, but may I...?" Jel said, lifting his hand, reaching out to touch her hair.
Seraphina felt her heart skip a beat at his request, her cheeks flushing pink. She nodded, her magenta eyes wide and sparkling with curiosity and anticipation. "Of course," she said softly, her voice barely above a whisper.
Jel's fingers gently brushed against the soft strands of Seraphina's hair, sending a shiver down his spine. It was silky and smooth to the touch, waves flowing gracefully down her back.
"It looks even more beautiful in the moonlight," Jel breathed, gently placing his hand on her cheek, brushing away a stray strand with his thumb.
Seraphina's heart fluttered at his touch, her breath catching slightly. She leaned into his hand, her eyes closing momentarily as she savored the gentle caress. "Thank you, Jel," she whispered, her voice filled with warmth and sincerity.
Opening her eyes, she looked up at him, her gaze meeting his with affection and wonder. "You have a way of making me feel so special," she said softly, her hand reaching up to rest on his, holding it gently against her cheek.
Jel felt an overwhelming rush of emotions, his eyes twinkling as he met Seraphina's gaze. The touch of her hand against his was grounding and intimate all at once.
"You are special," he whispered, cupping her face in his hands. "You have a unique and wonderful nature, unlike anyone I have met before."
"And you, Jel," she said softly, her voice trembling with affection, "are unlike anyone I've ever met. To have you in my life has been a blessing."
His thumb continued to caress her cheek, tracing invisible patterns on her skin. Seraphina's heart swelled with emotion at his words, her breath caught in her throat.
The sincerity of her voice sent tingles coursing down Jel's spine. His heart felt full in that moment, a warm buzz flowing through his veins.
"Seraphina, my muse," he whispered, tilting her head to press their foreheads together. "There's something I've been wanting to ask... can I kiss you?"
Seraphina's breath caught at his words, her heart pounding with anticipation. Her magenta eyes softened, filled with affection and longing as she looked into his twinkling gaze. "Yes, Jel," she whispered back, her voice trembling with emotion. "I would love that."
With her permission, Jel leaned closer, gently closing the space between them. His breath tickled her lips for a torturous moment before he closed his eyes and pressed his mouth against hers.
As their lips met, a wave of warmth and pleasure washed over him like a gentle wave. He cradled her face in his hand, his thumb stroking her cheek as he deepened the kiss. Seraphina responded with equal tenderness, her hands moving to rest on his chest, feeling his heartbeat beneath her fingertips.
The kiss was soft and sincere, filled with unspoken emotions and the promise of something beautiful. The world around them seemed to fade away, leaving just the two of them in a bubble of warmth and affection. The moonlight bathed them in its ethereal glow, adding magic to the moment.
Jel's fingers threaded through her hair, gently pulling her closer as he savored the taste and feel of her lips against his. Each movement, each touch, conveyed his feelings for her. It was a kiss that spoke of admiration, affection, and a burgeoning love that felt both new and timeless.
As they slowly pulled back, their foreheads resting against each other, they both opened their eyes, gazing at each other with wonder and joy. Seraphina's cheeks were flushed, her magenta eyes shining with happiness.
"That was... incredible," she whispered, her voice barely above a breath.
Jel smiled, his thumb gently stroking her cheek. "You are incredible," he replied softly, his voice filled with awe. "I feel like the luckiest person in the world right now."
Seraphina's smile widened, her heart swelling with emotion. "And I feel the same way," she said, her eyes never leaving his.
They stood there for a moment, lost in each other's gaze, the bond between them growing stronger with each passing second. The night air was filled with the promise of new beginnings and the magic of a love that would only deepen with time.
Finally, Jel spoke again, his voice gentle and sincere. "Shall we continue our walk?" he asked, his hand still holding hers.
Seraphina nodded, her smile warm and radiant. "I'd love to," she replied.
Hand in hand, they continued their walk along the shore, the connection between them more profound than ever. As they shared stories, laughter, and quiet moments of reflection, they knew that their journey together was just beginning, and it was one they would face with hearts full of love and hope.

First Encounters Snippet

Elara's face radiated delight and eagerness as Pinocchio expressed his wish to see the garden. "Absolutely, I'd love to show you," she replied with warmth, her voice brimming with enthusiasm. She reached out confidently, her touch gentle yet assured, as she took Pinocchio's hand in hers.
Leading him through the hotel, Elara moved with a confident grace, her steps unhurried yet purposeful. Pinocchio felt a comforting reassurance as Elara's hand enveloped his. As they progressed, the hotel's ambient noise gradually receded, giving way to a serene quietude as they neared the gardens.
Pinocchio's typically heavy, pronounced footsteps became lighter, echoing Elara's graceful pace. His blue eyes remained intently focused on Elara, captivated by her ease and elegance as she navigated the hotel's opulent interior. The combination of her poised demeanor and the gentle hold of her hand stirred a sense of comfort and curiosity within him.
As they entered the garden, the vibrant sounds of nature enveloped them. Birds chirped harmoniously, leaves whispered in the breeze, and the air hummed with the symphony of the natural world. Elara, aware of Pinocchio's attentive gaze, turned to him with a warm, welcoming smile. She guided him through the garden paths, enthusiastically pointing out various plants and flowers, each with its own story. The garden's rich tapestry of colors and textures captivated Pinocchio, its serene beauty a stark contrast to the more mechanical environment he knew.
In the midst of this natural splendor, Elara remained the focal point of Pinocchio's attention. Her presence was a peaceful anchor amidst the garden's vibrant life, a sense of tranquility that was both new and deeply comforting.
They soon arrived at the heart of the garden, Elara's treasured sanctuary. It was as enchanting as she described: a secluded alcove framed by ivy-clad walls, with a charming fountain at its heart, creating a tranquil atmosphere. The sun's rays filtered through the leaves, casting a mosaic of light and shadows, enhancing the magical aura of the place.
Elara gestured around them with a sense of pride and affection. "This is my special haven," she shared, her eyes reflecting her deep bond with this tranquil spot. She settled onto a quaint bench, patting the space beside her, inviting Pinocchio to join her. "You seem to have a real appreciation for the garden's beauty," she observed, her eyes meeting his. "It's not often that someone understands the subtle beauty of nature so well."
Elara's gaze lingered on Pinocchio, noting how the dappled sunlight added a gentle touch to his typically stoic features. She saw in him a unique blend of curiosity and awe, qualities she found deeply appealing. "I hope this place brings you the same sense of peace it brings me," she said hopefully, her voice filled with a genuine desire for him to find solace in this special corner of the world.

Here is an excerpt about Pinocchio and Elara's first meeting that I'm currently working on.
Stargazing Whispers

That evening, when the world seemed too overwhelming, I found myself drawn to the rooftop terrace of Hotel Krat, seeking a haven from the turmoil within. The city's buzz was a muted whisper here, under the open sky where stars twinkled like distant lanterns.
As I stepped onto the terrace, my eyes landed on Pinocchio, his silhouette etched against the night sky. He stood there, lost in contemplation, a solitary figure under the vast stars. His presence soothed my restless spirit.
"Quite a view, isn't it?" I whispered, careful not to break the terrace's tranquil spell.
Pinocchio turned towards me, his deep blue eyes brightening with familiar warmth. "It is indeed. Would you like to join me?" he asked softly, his tone inviting and gentle, reflecting our shared connection.
Gratefully, I joined him, settling beside him under the star-filled sky. Pinocchio started weaving tales of constellations and myths, each more captivating than the last. His melodious voice eased my mind, drawing me further into the moment and his world.
Time seemed irrelevant as we talked about dreams and fears, our conversation a delicate tapestry of shared confidence and laughter. In revealing his journey towards understanding human emotions, Pinocchio opened a door to his soul, inviting me in.
"And what about your dreams?" he asked, turning towards me. There was a tenderness in his gaze, a genuine interest that coaxed my guarded dreams into the open. As I shared, the night air grew colder, and a shiver ran through me. Without a word, Pinocchio offered his coat, a gesture so simple yet so intimate.
I snuggled closer to him for warmth, our shoulders touching gently. The contact was electric, sending a wave of unspoken understanding between us. In that quiet, shared moment, something unsaid yet profound lingered.
Suddenly, a shooting star streaked across the sky, its fleeting brilliance capturing our attention. "Make a wish," Pinocchio said softly, his gaze fixed on the heavens.
I closed my eyes, whispering my wish to the stars. When I opened them, Pinocchio watched me, curiosity dancing in his eyes. "What did you wish for?" he asked with a gentle smile.
I laughed softly, the sound mingling with the night breeze. "If I tell you, it won't come true," I teased.
Just then, a gust of wind blew, causing hair strands to fall across my face. Before I could brush them away, Pinocchio reached out, his movements careful and deliberate. He gently tucked the hair behind my ear, his touch lingering. Our eyes locked, and the world around us stood still for a moment.
"I made a wish too," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "What if my wish involves you?"
His words hung in the air, charged with tender possibility. I felt a flutter in my heart at Pinocchio's words, the simplicity and honesty behind them stirring something deep within me.
I looked into his eyes, seeing gentle hope flickering in them. "Is that so?" I murmured, my voice laced with a soft smile. The moment felt suspended in time, our connection deepening with each passing second.
Slowly, I took his hand—the one that had just tenderly brushed the hair from my face—and brought it closer to me. My heart raced as I placed a gentle kiss on the back of his hand, a gesture of affection and acknowledgment of the bond that had been quietly growing between us. I could feel the warmth of his skin against my lips, a tangible reminder of the human emotions he was learning to embrace.
As I held his hand, I watched a subtle change wash over Pinocchio's features. There was a softness, a hint of vulnerability that I hadn't seen before. "Your wish," I said softly, "is beautiful. And I think… I share it."
Pinocchio's eyes held mine, and in them, I saw a reflection of my feelings—tentative yet brimming with possibility. I felt warmth spread through me as he leaned forward. His movement was gentle, almost cautious as if he was navigating through uncharted emotions. Then, I felt the soft press of his lips on my forehead, a tender kiss that sealed the unspoken words between us. It was a simple gesture, yet it held meaning and affection.
As he pulled back slightly, Pinocchio rested his forehead against mine. Our eyes met, and in that close, intimate proximity, I saw a glimmer of something new in his gaze—a mixture of appreciation, affection, and a hint of wonder. His eyes, so often searching and curious, now held softness, a reflection of the connection we shared.
We smiled softly at each other, our smiles conveying more than words ever could. In the quiet of the rooftop, with the blanket of stars above us and the gentle breeze around us, the moment felt like a delicate bubble of time, isolated from the rest of the world.
The city's distant lights flickered like distant fireflies, casting a subtle glow on our quaint sanctuary. The night air was cool, but the warmth between us was all-encompassing, filling the space with comforting, serene energy.
In the heart of the city, under the watchful eyes of the stars, Pinocchio and I discovered a shared wish, a mutual longing that transcended words—a silent promise of more to come.
Gentleman's Heart

Here are some sweet headcanons for Von Lycaon when he has a crush:
Heightened Cleanliness: Von Lycaon’s already meticulous nature goes into overdrive. He ensures his surroundings are impeccably clean whenever his crush is around.
Von Lycaon:Â "Please, allow me to tidy up a bit before you come in."
Crush: "You really don’t have to go through all this trouble."
Von Lycaon:Â "It's no trouble at all. Your comfort is my priority."
Protective Instincts:Â His natural inclination to protect becomes even stronger. He subtly keeps a close watch over his crush, ensuring they are always safe and comfortable.
Von Lycaon, offering his arm to his crush: "Allow me to walk you home. The streets can be unpredictable at this hour."
Crush, smiling but hesitant: "Oh, that's very kind of you, but I'm sure I'll be fine."
Von Lycaon, gently taking their hand and placing it on his arm: "It's a privilege to ensure your well-being. I'd feel better knowing you arrived safely."
Crush, feeling his protective nature and warmth: "Thank you, Lycaon. That means a lot to me."
Von Lycaon, giving a reassuring smile as they start walking together: "Your safety is my top priority. I'll always be here to watch over you."
Subtle Courtship:Â Being a gentleman, Von Lycaon uses old-fashioned, subtle methods of courtship. He leaves small, thoughtful gifts and handwritten notes, often with poetic quotes or observations he knows will resonate with his crush.
Von Lycaon leaves a rose, carefully dethorned, along with a handwritten note on his crush's desk
Von Lycaon's note reads:Â "For the one who brightens my days, a small token of my appreciation."
Canine Instincts: His canine instincts become more pronounced around his crush. His ears might twitch or his tail might wag slightly when he’s particularly happy or excited in their presence.
Crush:Â "Is your tail wagging?"
Von Lycaon, flustered: "I… It seems I can't control it when I’m happy."
Crush, laughing and reaching out to touch his ear gently: "It’s cute. I like seeing you happy."
Loyalty and Devotion: Von Lycaon’s loyalty to his crush is unwavering. He goes out of his way to assist them, whether it’s helping with tasks or offering a listening ear.
Crush:Â "You've been helping me a lot lately. I hope I'm not burdening you."
Von Lycaon:Â "Nonsense. It's my pleasure to assist. Your happiness is reward enough."
Overthinking Interactions:Â Despite his outward composure, he internally overthinks every interaction. He analyzes every word and gesture, wondering if he came across the right way or if he said something that could be misinterpreted.
Rina, noticing his distraction: "You seem distracted, Lycaon."
Von Lycaon, his brow furrowing as he reflects: "Do you think I was too forward in our last conversation? I fear I may have made them uncomfortable."
Rina, giving him a reassuring smile: "From what you've told me, they seemed quite happy. Stop overthinking."
Gentle Touches:Â Physical contact is gentle and deliberate. He might place a reassuring hand on their shoulder or offer a gentlemanly kiss on the hand, each touch conveying his deep affection and respect.
Von Lycaon gently takes his crush's hand and, with a gentleman's grace, kisses it
Crush, smiling warmly: "You're quite the gentleman, aren't you?"
Von Lycaon, with a soft, affectionate smile: "For you, it's only natural."
Confiding in Trusted Friends:Â He confides in Rina about his feelings, seeking advice on how to express them appropriately without compromising his gentlemanly demeanor.
Von Lycaon:Â "Rina, may I seek your counsel on a personal matter?"
Rina: "Of course, Lycaon. What’s on your mind?"
Von Lycaon: "I’ve developed feelings for someone, and I wish to convey them without losing my composure or propriety."
Tail Wagging: When he’s particularly happy or flustered around his crush, his tail betrays him by wagging despite his best efforts to stay composed. He’s slightly embarrassed by this but it’s also endearing.
Crush:Â "You seem unusually happy today."
Von Lycaon, tail wagging, trying to suppress it: "Do I? Perhaps it’s the company."
Increased Poeticism:Â He becomes more poetic in his speech, often quoting literature or composing his romantic lines when speaking to or about his crush. His words are carefully chosen to reflect his deep feelings.
Von Lycaon, with a gentle, sincere tone: "The stars pale in comparison to your radiance."
Crush, blushing slightly, feeling touched: "You always know how to say the most beautiful things."
Von Lycaon, smiling softly, his eyes full of affection: "It's simply the truth, and I find myself captivated by it every day."
Heart's Tender Whisper

In the quiet hours of the night, as I sit to pen down these words, my heart is filled with an emotion so profound and pure, it's almost surreal. You've become the melody that plays in the silence of my existence, a gentle tune that soothes and enlivens my soul.
From the moment our paths crossed, you've ignited a warmth in me that I never knew existed. Your laughter, a sweet symphony, echoes in the chambers of my heart, and your smile, radiant as the dawn, lights up my darkest days.
With you, I've discovered a world of emotions I never thought I could feel. Each day with you is a journey into the depths of joy and serenity, a discovery of feelings that were once alien to me. Your kindness has not only touched my heart but has transformed me in ways I'm still learning to understand.

Please know, my affection for you is as genuine as it is deep. You are an extraordinary person who has left an indelible mark on my life. My gratitude for having you in my life is immeasurable, and I treasure every moment we share.
With all the love my heart can hold,

Whispers in the Rain

Sebastian rode through the streets on his motorcycle, cursing to himself. He had just gotten into a bad argument with Demetrius and needed to get away from home. The rain was coming down hard, the drops hitting him like little bullets on his skin, but he didn’t care. He just needed to escape.
He followed the familiar path leading him to the cliffs where he often found solace. The roar of the motorcycle was drowned out by the sound of the rain and the crashing waves below. When he reached the cliffs, he pulled off to the side and turned off his motorcycle, sighing as he took his helmet off.
As he looked towards the cliffs, he saw someone standing where he normally would. Through the rain, he squinted and realized it was Mariana. Her presence there puzzled him. What was she doing out here in the rain?
Mariana stood at the edge of the cliff, wearing a light blue raincoat that kept most of the rain at bay. Her umbrella lay on the ground beside her, open but unused. She closed her eyes, letting the rain kiss her gently as she took deep breaths, trying to calm the restlessness within her. The cold air seeped through her raincoat, but she didn’t mind; the chill was invigorating, matching the turmoil in her mind.
The rhythmic patter of rain was usually calming, but today it echoed the chaos inside her. She stared out at the turbulent sea, its relentless waves crashing against the rocks below. It mirrored how she felt—relentless, unyielding, yet beautiful in its own way.
Sebastian stood there, the rain hitting his face and hair, causing it to stick to his skin. He stared at Mariana, not expecting her to be in his spot. He felt a small pang in his chest but quickly pushed it away. His mood was already sour, his argument with Demetrius still fresh in his mind. But something about seeing her there made him feel a strange sense of comfort. He stayed silent for a few moments, the rain filling the air with its sound before he spoke.
"What are you doing out here?"
Mariana turned at the sound of his voice, her expression softening when she saw him. Her big, red curly hair with soft copper highlights, usually vibrant and bouncing with life, was now weighed down by the rain, framing her face in damp tendrils. Despite the wetness, there was a certain calmness in her sky-blue eyes, a contrast to the storm raging around them.
"Sebastian? I could ask you the same thing," she said, her voice gentle. "I come here to think sometimes, especially when I need to clear my head. But why are you out here in this weather?"
Sebastian's gaze softened a little as he looked at her, taking in the sight of Mariana drenched from the rain and still looking somewhat at peace. He slowly made his way over, standing next to her on the edge of the cliff, the rain beating down on them and soaking them further.
He let out a frustrated sigh, his hands clenching into fists as he spoke. "I needed to get away from home for a bit. Had a stupid argument with Demetrius... Needed some space to cool off, you know?"
Mariana nodded, understanding. "I get it. Sometimes you just need to escape for a while."
Sebastian's shoulders slumped slightly as he felt some of the tension ease. He sighed again, running a hand through his wet hair, causing it to stick to his face. "It's always the same thing with him, you know? Judging me, criticizing me for doing freelance programming work instead of getting a 'real job.' I can never do anything right in his eyes..."
Mariana reached out, placing a comforting hand on his arm. "It's hard when people don't see the value in what you love. But your work is important, Sebastian. It matters to you, and that's what counts."
Sebastian was slightly surprised by her touch, but he didn't pull away. Instead, he looked down at her hand resting on his arm, feeling the warmth of her palm through his wet clothes.
"I know... I just wish he could see that, you know? That it's not just something I'm doing to piss him off... It's what I love. And I'm damn good at it."
Mariana nodded, understanding the frustration in his voice. "It's hard when people don't understand your passions. But just because he doesn't see it, doesn't mean it's any less valid. You are amazing at what you do, Sebastian. Don't let anyone make you feel otherwise." She began caressing his arm gently, her touch soothing. "I see it. I see you, and I'm proud of you."
Sebastian felt a shiver run down his spine at her words and her touch, his heart giving a small pang in his chest. No one had ever said they were proud of him before, especially not for his programming job.
"Y-you're proud of me...?" he asked in an almost whisper, looking over at her, his usual sarcastic or snarky attitude replaced with vulnerability.
Mariana inched closer to him, her hand moving down from his arm to his hand, holding it gently as she reassured him. "Yes, Sebastian. I'm proud of you. I see how hard you work and how much passion you put into what you do. It matters, and it makes a difference."
Sebastian's heart was hammering in his chest, the simple act of holding hands feeling incredibly intimate. He swallowed, his mind swirling with emotions. He wasn't used to genuine affection or praise, always used to being criticized or looked down on. He slowly intertwined his fingers with hers, his gaze locked on hers as he spoke, his voice quieter than usual. "You... really mean that, don't you?"
Mariana nodded, her eyes filled with sincerity and warmth. "Of course I do, Sebastian. I wouldn't say it if I didn't mean it. You are an incredible person, and what you do is important. I see your dedication and passion, and I admire it. I admire you."
Sebastian felt himself blushing slightly, the heat spreading through his cheeks and down his neck, thankfully somewhat hidden by the rain and the dim light. He looked down at their intertwined hands, his thumb gently brushing over her skin.
He wasn't used to such earnest compliments. He was used to sarcasm and criticism, not genuine care and admiration. It was an unfamiliar sensation, one that he both relished and was slightly afraid of. He swallowed, his voice barely audible over the sound of the rain. "No one's ever... said anything like that to me before."
Mariana smiled softly at him, her eyes filled with warmth. She reached up with her free hand, gently brushing his wet hair out of his face. The tender gesture made his heart flutter. "Well," she said, her voice as soft as the rain, "I'll just have to say it every day for you, then."
Sebastian's breath caught in his throat at her touch, his heart stuttering in his chest. He felt a sudden fluttering in his stomach, and he had the urge to look away to hide his flustered expression. But he couldn't. His gaze remained locked on hers.
He swallowed, feeling vulnerability and affection for her. He tried to remain sarcastic, but his voice came out softer, more serious than he had intended. "Every... day, huh? That's a lot of praise."
Mariana's hand, which had brushed away his hair, now rested on his cheek, caressing it softly. She smiled, her eyes filled with warmth and sincerity. "You deserve all the praise, Sebastian."
Sebastian let out a shaky exhale, his skin tingling under her touch, his heart racing in his chest. He leaned into her hand slightly, the gentle caress making him feel both comforted and strangely nervous. He swallowed, his gaze still locked with hers, his usual sarcastic demeanor melting away to reveal something more genuine. "And if I... don't believe you...?" he asked quietly, his voice slightly hoarse.
Mariana's smile remained warm and tender. She gently brushed her thumb across his cheek, her touch soft and reassuring. "Then I'll just have to keep telling you until you do," she said, her voice filled with determination and affection.
Sebastian's breath hitched at her reply, his heart skipping a beat. The combination of her touch, her determination, and the sincerity in her voice was overwhelming. It was a foreign feeling, to be cared for and seen for who he was and not what he was supposed to be. He chuckled softly, the sound tinged with vulnerability. His free hand moved to rest on top of hers, which was still on his cheek, covering it completely. He swallowed, the words he never thought he'd say slipping from his lips. "And what if... I didn't want you to stop?"
Mariana's smile softened even more, her eyes filling with warmth and affection. She gently squeezed his other hand while her thumb continued to caress his cheek. "Then I won't stop," she whispered. "I'll keep reminding you every day, for as long as you need."
Sebastian felt relief and anxiety wash over him. He had never been the focus of such unwavering care and affection before. It both scared and comforted him. He swallowed, trying to regain his composure. But his heart was betraying him, his skin still warm under her touch. He tried to speak, but his voice came out quieter than usual. "And what if I... need it forever?"
Mariana's smile grew even more tender, her eyes shining with love. She moved her other hand holding his hand to rest on his other cheek, cupping his face, her touch soft and reassuring. "Then I'll be here forever," she whispered. "I'm not going anywhere, Sebastian. I'll be by your side as long as you need me."
Sebastian's heart pounded in his chest, his breath catching in his throat as she held his face in her hands. He felt a wave of emotions wash over him—surprise, vulnerability, and a growing affection for her. He wasn't used to someone showing him such unwavering loyalty and affection. His hands moved to cover hers, his fingers gently curling around her wrists. He swallowed, his voice barely above a whisper. "You... promise?"
Mariana brought his face closer to hers, gently resting his forehead against hers. She closed her eyes, her voice soft and filled with warmth. "I promise." She nuzzled her nose against his, a tender gesture that sent a shiver down his spine.
Sebastian closed his eyes as well, his heart fluttering at her touch. The closeness between them felt intimate and unfamiliar, yet somehow... natural. He could feel her breath on his face, mixed with the coolness of the rain. He swallowed, his fingers twitching around her wrists as he tried to process the overwhelming emotions bubbling up inside him. He opened his eyes slightly, looking at her through half-lidded eyes, his voice still a whisper. "Forever is... a long time."
Mariana's smile widened, a tender light in her eyes as she held his gaze. "Forever with you isn't long enough," she countered softly, her words filled with sincerity and affection.
Sebastian's heart skipped a beat, a wave of emotions crashing over him at her words. He felt his walls crumbling, his usual guarded demeanor falling away, replaced by a vulnerability he was unaccustomed to. He swallowed, trying to find the words to express the maelstrom of feelings inside him. But instead, he just whispered the first thing that came to his mind. "That's cheesy."
Mariana laughed softly, the sound a soothing balm to his frayed nerves. She reached up and gently brushed a strand of wet hair away from his forehead, her eyes twinkling with affection. "Maybe it is," she replied, her voice a gentle tease, "but sometimes, a little cheese is good for the soul."
A small smile tugged at the corners of Sebastian's lips, despite his attempts to keep a straight face. Mariana's laugh and the light-heartedness in her voice made his heart flutter. He let out a half-hearted scoff, trying to regain some of his usual aloofness. "You're a sap," he muttered, although his tone lacked its usual sarcasm.
Mariana giggled softly, her eyes sparkling with affection. "Maybe I am," she said, her voice teasing but warm. "But you know you love it."
Sebastian rolled his eyes, although a slight flush crept up his cheeks at her words. He knew he didn't have a good retort to that. Because secretly, he did love it. He loved the way she knew how to break through his tough exterior and bring out his soft side. He let out a half-hearted sigh, his hands still holding onto her wrists. "Don't let it go to your head, okay?"
Mariana laughed softly, her eyes twinkling with mischief. She pulled back just enough to look at his face, her hands caressing his cheeks. "No promises," she teased, her touch gentle and reassuring. “But I’ll try to keep my sappiness in check."
Sebastian huffed out a half-hearted laugh, amused despite himself. He knew he was already losing this little battle. The way she could bring out his softer side with such ease was both endearing and infuriating. He tried, in vain, to feign indifference, but he couldn't help the tiny smile that tugged at the corner of his lips. "You're insufferable, you know that?"
"And you wouldn't have it any other way," she replied, her voice warm and loving.
Sebastian's heart gave a little flutter at her words. He knew it was true. Despite his gruff exterior and his tendency to keep people at a distance, he secretly relished the moments when she saw through his facade. The times when she knew exactly how to make him smile or blush. He grumbled, mock-annoyance, even as his smile widened slightly. "Shut up."
Mariana laughed, the sound bright and full of joy. Sebastian's hands moved from her wrists to gently hold her face, his thumbs brushing over her cheeks. As he held her face, he felt his heart thudding in his chest. Mariana's laughter was infectious, and her happiness radiated off her like a warm aura.
Her tan skin, a beautiful contrast to the rain, seemed to glow with warmth. He smiled, the expression soft and genuine, his thumbs gently caressing her cheeks. The rain continued to fall around them, but it didn't matter. At that moment, all he could focus on was her and the warmth he felt in her presence.
"Let me take you home," he said softly, his voice filled with tenderness.
Mariana looked at him fondly, her eyes glistening with emotion as she leaned into his touch. Her skin was soft under his fingers, and the proximity made his heart flutter. "Will you stay?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper, her eyes searching his for reassurance.
Sebastian's heart skipped a beat at her question. The vulnerability in her gaze, combined with the trust she was placing in him, made him feel a rush of affection and protectiveness. He nodded, his smile widening, the corners of his eyes crinkling with genuine emotion. "Always," he replied, his voice steady and sincere.
Without another word, he leaned in, closing the distance between them, and gently pressed his lips to hers. The kiss was tender and full of promise, sealing his vow with the warmth of his affection. Mariana responded, her hands gently caressing his cheeks as she leaned into him, deepening the kiss. The world around them seemed to fade away, leaving only the two of them in that moment of pure connection.
Their lips lingered together for a few seconds before slowly pulling apart, their foreheads resting against each other. The rain fell softly, a gentle backdrop to their shared intimacy. Sebastian's eyes remained closed for a moment, savoring the closeness. When he opened them, he saw the same depth of emotion reflected in Mariana's gaze. "Let's go home," he murmured, his voice filled with affection and certainty.
Mariana nodded, her smile radiant. "Yes, let's."
