You felt a slight jump on the bed and as you opened your eyes you were met with Layla on your side of the bed. 

“Morning, LayLay,” you said as you pet her. You made an attempt to get out of bed when the arm around your waist tightened and Jake moved closer.

“Don’t leave, yn, you’re so warm,” he muttered. You turned your head slightly to be met with a half awake Jake, how the hell was he so cute? 

“I gotta feed our daughter.” The smile that appeared on Jake’s face was one of pure happiness. If you were being honest, when the two of you first started dating you weren’t nervous about being with Jake, you were nervous that Layla wouldn’t like you but thankfully she did, sometimes even better than Jake. Jake was the first one to refer to Layla as “our daughter” about a month ago while you two were out on a morning walk, it was accidental if anything, but the title as Layla’s mom was something you gladly accepted, especially now that you and Jake were engaged.

“You feed our daughter and I’ll feed you, babe,” he said as he stretched his arm, letting out a yawn in the process. 

“Sounds good,” you said with a smile. The two of you got out of bed settling into the morning routine the two of you created while living together. Breakfast came with a conversation filled with easiness and comfort trademarked by Jake Shim. As you got ready for the day since you were going on a walk, Jake came into the room, arms wrapping around your waist as he hugged you from behind smiling at you through the mirror. Layla came in settling by your feet.

“I was thinking we could spend the day at Junction Plaza instead of the park. We’ve been wanting to buy some new clothes and we haven’t been there in a while,” Jake said. Junction Plaza was a dog friendly place which was basically an outdoor mall full of stores and restaurants, you, Jake, and Layla went there on one of your first dates. Layla barked out once, agreeing with Jake’s idea. 

“Yeah, sounds nice.” The two of you drove to Junction Plaza with Layla in the back seat while you blasted songs in the car. After eating lunch at one of the restaurants the three of you walked around, going into stores, just hanging out. While walking, the two of you saw a pet store that wasn’t there the last time you were. Without a word, a silent mutual agreement fell between you to go inside. It was probably the best part of your date, aside from being with Layla and Jake in itself.

“Y/n,” Jake said as he picked out an outfit for Layla, “don’t you think this pattern would look cute if we ever had a kid?” he asked. The question brought a blush to your cheeks but you nodded in response,

“It would.” Maybe one day, that was how you’d break the news to Jake if Layla ever had a sibling.
