“You just sounded so serious.” You sniffle pathetically. “Like you hate me.”

“I didn’t mean it.” Yoongi sighs and when your brow furrows he winces, cupping your jaw, “Okay I meant it but I thought you said you wanted to try the whole role play thing?”

“I thought we were gonna build up to it! I didn’t expect you to call me a stupid slut as soon as I got into the room!” You scowl.

“Oh I’m sorry should we have arranged a date and time as to when I could degrade you? I just assumed we were starting immediately, as per your text this afternoon during lunch.” He rolls his eyes because you really were such a cry baby — it was worse that he liked it, that he gave into your ever whim with an exasperated sigh and his fingers linked through yours. Contented. Further proof that he was too soft and it was all your fault.

“It hurts my feelings.” You argue.

“That’s the general point of degradation - I’m assuming? I wouldn’t know. Surprisingly, calling you mean names isn’t my thing?” He shrugs.

“I wish you mirrored the sentiment during actual fights.” You scoff.

“If you’re gonna act like an asshole I’m gonna tell you.” He snorts, “But I mean all of this…”

He gestures between the two of you and you sit up, lacey undwear making your butt chafe.

“It’s not us. I mean I like the get up, don’t get me wrong. I appreciate the thought.” He murmurs with a small smile, “but it wouldn’t really matter to me if I came home to you like this or in boxers and my shirt.”

You frown, “I know that was meant to be sweet but it just annoyed me. What do you mean you don’t care? I put so much time and thought and—“

A small yelp leaves you when Yoongi presses his lips to yours. It wasn’t rough or fueled by his burning passion to stick his things in your stuff it was just… sweet and Yoongi. And you liked that – no you loved it. Loved it when his hand came up to push a strand of hair behind your ear and his thumb ran back forth over your jaw. Loved it when you could feel him smiling against your lips - probably laughing at you and your lame attempt at being sexy. You loved him.

“I meant no matter what… I’m always gonna like what you’re wearing.” He mutters, cheeks burning and fists clenched as he glances anywhere but your face. “It’s because you’re wearing it.”

The blister screaming at the back of your right heel could sense the shoddy leather wrapped around your ankle, the cheap shoes shrinking further into your skin each time another Louboutin clacked across the tile past you. Smooth silk pleats wrapped around your body suddenly itched, pulling at the prickles crawling across your skin each time a new pair of beaded red eyes dragged up your stature, smirking at your state.

They didn’t have to see the sweat prickling along your hairline to hear the hammer of your heart as it clattered violently against your ribs.

Hoseok’s text thread was open when you unlocked your phone, three enlarged emoticons glaring at you, his sarcastic have fun, my love! enough to elicit the strength within you it would take to rip out one of his fangs with your bare hands. A vague thought haunted your conscious, that this was just another one of his stupid tricks, that his dismissive, “I’m certainly not going to do it, but my friend might be interested.” was just a ploy to send you to the restaurant where a salad cost more than your entire life’s earnings. Any second his stupid fluffy red hair would poke out from behind the springy ficus in the corner, submit to your embarrassment with raised hands and that full faced smile, bite you just over the wool rug as to not spill any on the swirling marble tile and just get it over with.

“Work will be interesting Monday,” He’d say, and it would be, as two of two midnight grocery baggers would now have an insatiable taste for the blood of the stumbling patrons passing through their lines at painstakingly slow paces.

The message was half typed, autocorrect having a time with the shaking state of your thumbs, what the fuck, when a gentle hand curled around the small of your back.

You were sure your heart had leapt into the base of your throat, the pulsating organ peeking out from the back of your tongue if your startled lips parted even a breath more. The owner of the hand chuckled, reverberating in your hollow chest cavity, the rasp almost childlike before it pulled into something anything but. Deep brown, a shade away from rich obsidian, studied you when your neck jerked, thin pink lips tugging upward at one corner.

“Did I startle you?”
