Just gonna go off on an extension of that post but it really does drive me wild that Xiao & Jin weren't allowed to display any crumb of Romantic Gestures beyond just staring at each other or holding hands (which again, Jin does with everyone. Him being slightly more "tender" with Xiao doesn't matter much) Like why couldn't they have done this?

Like even this feels more personal & close than what TK8 gave us. Like instead of just holding Xiao's hand after catching her, Jin could've given her a hug. It just feels weird to be hinting at these two for like 25+ YEARS and then give us just very very tiny crumbs. I just don't see the point of setting something up, and then barely doing anything with it. Like sure, maybe in TK9 we'll get another timeskip and they'll be Official Lovers or Married, but... that means it's another 10+ years of waiting for them to do something that they could've done long ago.

It's even still debatable if they're canon because of this because. Hell, the Tekken wiki doesn't even list Jin as Xiao's lover / love interest or vice versa because there's simply no actual confirmation for this. Jin looking like he cares a little more about Xiao than the others still isn't actual confirmation either.
