The Ascension of Biggie Smalls (The Rhino Painting) –I Finally got a bid on this!– 30” x 40” Acrylic/Canvas Inspired by rap lyrics from slain rap artist The Notorious B.I.G., who was also known as Biggie Smalls. This is the anthropomorphic representation of his claim to be “the black rhinoceros of rap”. The transition from his human form, to having a rhinoceros head, canonizes his ascension into heaven because he is often lauded as being the greatest rapper of all time. Eastern religions heavily influenced this concept with their use of vivid color palettes within their sacred art and sculptures.
