I saw a related quote a little while ago that under stress you revert to what you do naturally; so if you practice (or make a habit of) what you need to do when stressed then that’s what you’ll do then naturally and it’ll be fine.
And both are good points. Cultivate the behaviors you want and need as habits. becoming who you want to be is an ongoing project.
