Original Major Fatal / Airtight Garage page by Moebius. It’s interesting seeing so many elements of his Jean Giraud / Blueberry style in his “Moebius” work. It feels like a crossover in some ways.

It was requested that I post the rest of the chapter illustrations from the Better Homes & Gardens Handyman’s Guide, 1957 edition, which I mentioned in a post yesterday. This handyman really loves his pipe.
Almost forgot the cover!

Untitled (Oregon blueberries and Lorenzi Park) gouache on hot-pressed paper 7 x 10 inches 2016
View more of my work from this series on my website. Time to go bigger, I think - stuffing all those details in was unnecessarily tricky. Bigger or simpler.

The procreate app on the ipad pro is the most fun I have had on a computer since The Oregon Trail first came out. I can’t imagine ever doing full digital finished work (ink & paint till I die) but it is a great tool for thumbnails & sketching. The astropad app does let you use the pro like a cintiq when attached to a desktop, so digital coloring & correction is much easier now.

Talus cave and lacustrine plain by Heather Lee Birdsong, 2016. 5x7 inches, gouache on hot-pressed paper.
