ok, but what would a 4th person pronoun even represent. Because I've seen some linguist nerds saying that because some languages differentiate between proximity or agency as pronouns, they exist as a 4th person.
What would be needed for english to make a 4th pronoun?
I keep seeing the "chat is a fourth person pronoun" post and it's getting increasingly hard to avoid starting discourse in the notes of it. chat I don't think they know what these linguistics terms they're using mean
I think Zuko has a lot going on his behalf. Remember, this is not a world with photography. Zuko's picture is drawn and not even printed, they likely have to hand-draw each wanted poster for him. Meaning there's all those imperfections. His only recognizeable trait is the scar over his face, and like we saw with Jet, confirmation bias can easily lead people to just assume Zuko was just a casualty of the evil fire nation. Some poor teenager whose face was burned by some fire nation soldier as he fled his home.
Especially when the city is constantly being bombarded with propaganda that the war is very far away and will not reach the city, do you think they're going to assume the guys running the tea shop are with the nation so far away?

anyway all that to say that if you’re a dropout if you have shit grades if you go to an alt school and are looked down on for it if you’re in your 5th or 6th or whatever year of high school if you’re still getting your GED if you’re taking night classes if you missed out on “universal” high school experiences if you were abused by your peers (because make no mistake, that’s what bullying is) if you were expelled if you were truant every single year if you were homeschooled and got sick of the jokes if you never attended a full week if the whole world treats you like the scum of the earth all because of your high school experience or lackthereof you’re not alone. there’s so many of us that have been beaten down and broken by the school systems we’re subject to and the hostility they breed and the abusive environments they foster. some day we won’t have to be treated like objects of pity or contempt to be swept aside but until then we have each other
My cats have this meow that means "please come with me to fix this" after which they'll lead me to the problem in question, usually a empty (or 'empty') food bowl or a closed door they want open. They look at the 'problem', they look back at me, clear message.
What fascinates me is how this illustrates what they percieve as being in the realm of my 'power.' I control the food, I control the door, sure, but my cats love to sit on the balcony in the sun, and it has happened plenty of times that on a rainy day they come get me, go to the balcony and show me... the rain. "Please fix this" they say. "Please get rid of the wet"
