Hahahahahah!!! Look At His Fake Ass Poster On EBay. What The Hell Is This Even? So Many Questions. Recolored

Hahahahahah!!! Look at his fake ass poster on eBay. What the hell is this even? So many questions. Recolored costumes? Head swaps of actors onto bodies of different actors from other X-Men movies? Tatum as Gambit!? Is Gambit even in this movie?  Top it all off with a drawing of Apocalypse, instead of an image of him as he appears in the movie (ok, that’s fair), and you got this gem. I can see making fan posters for movies that don’t exist, but whats the point of making a poster for one that does? Gotta get that big eBay money, I guess.

Here is the link if you’ve got an anniversary or something coming up and you need to get something for that special someone.

Obi looks like Kenneth Branagh here. I remember the rumor swirling that Branagh was in consideration for the part early on. I’m curious if this was on Nowlan’s mind when he created the piece.

Star Wars Galaxy IV - Obi-Wan Kenobi & Baby Leia By Kevin Nowlan.

Star Wars Galaxy IV - Obi-Wan Kenobi & Baby Leia by Kevin Nowlan.

From the owner:

This Kevin Nowlan painting was originally commissioned by Topps for their Star Wars Galaxy trading card series back in the mid 1990’s. It was most likely intended for the Star Wars Galaxy III series (1995). After more than a decade later in 2009, Topps brought SW Galaxy back with series IV and this art was published as a trading card in the “Lost Galaxy” subset featuring artworks that were previously rejected by Lucasfilm for various reasons.

Here’s Nowlan’s quote from his website post dated July 31, 2009 about this art: “The card was published recently, years after it was rejected for content. I picked it from a list of subjects supplied by Topps and (I would assume) approved by Lucasfilm. But after I did the painting, they rejected it because Lucas was about to start the new movies and didn’t want anyone dealing with material that he was going to cover in the prequels. Glad they finally changed their minds.”
