druig doesn't like to be touched.

he once glared at kingo the whole day cause he patter him on the shoulder and scowled at sprite when she bumped into him one night. he ever only tolerated hugs from makkari cause she was the only person druig found remotely tolerable.

everyone knew about the unspoken 'dont touch druig' rule.

and he loved that rule.

but that rule never applied only to you cause he just really loved you.

you were his sun, and he was your moon. you were the only reason he ever shined, smiled. you were his light.

druig could never explain how much you meant to him, he wasn't that good with words, but you understood that and just let him express himself however he was comfortable, never pushing him to be someone he was not.

he loved you and showed that in different ways.

he killed all the bugs and spiders for you cause you hate them, when you once nonchalantly mentioned about wanting a new bookshelf so he bugged phastos to make it for you in a day and then surprised you with it.

he was always there for you. he went to long walks with you when you wanted to clear your mind, he was there to hold you whenever you cried, he was there when you had a good day and just wanted to be happy. he would never leave you.

his favorite way to tell you he loved you was by holding your hand and whispering sweet things in your ears. he loved the way your hand fit with his, he loved how soft and tender your hand felt against his. they were the most perfect thing he had ever touched, it was a blessing to him, truly.

he loved to whisper things like, 'you look so beautiful today my love', 'my beautiful, beautiful y/n i dare you kiss me right now' with a sly smirk on his face while you buried your face in his chest and he laughed. it was perfect, you were perfect.

sometimes, when he felt like he was ready to say how much he loves you and the words get stuck in his chest and he just overthinks everything; he reaches out for your hand and its always there for him. and he falls even more in love with you.

that simple touch means everything to him.

the first time he ever held your hand was when you and druig were out on a walk in the pale moonlight when everyone was sleeping and it was calm and peaceful. the sounds of leaves rustling against each other and the way your feet felt cool against the soft sand as you walked barefoot made you felt at peace. you were both just talking and laughing and god, druig wanted to kiss you so bad.

suddenly you heard a growl, both of you alert and druig shielding you cause he wanted you to be safe, always. another growl was heard, this one louder than the first one, and it startled you and you reached out for his hand. as soon as druig felt your fingers brush against his, his body tensed and his cheeks turned a faint shade of pink. you grasped his hand tightly and looked around, to see nothing. you both stood like that for awhile not sure if it was a deviant or not but after not hearing any commotion you both relaxed again and you left his hand. and it felt weird to leave it, you wanted to hold it again. this time not out of fear but out of love.

"i'm sorry" you said shyly, not meeting his eyes.

"i liked it" he said softly, a small smile on his face as he gently tugged on your hand.

he held your hand for the rest of walk, and then dreamed about it for the week.

after that he used any excuse to hold your hand. going for a walk? he will come with you and hold your hand no matter at what time. just sitting doing nothing? fine with him, he will sit beside you and hold your hand flirting with you the entire time and making you laugh with his snarky remarks. whenever, everyone once in awhile went to check on the humans he would insist on holding your hand in case he got "lost". you found it ridiculously adorable.

"lost? druig really?" you laughed sweetly, "druig, honey you can control minds i am sure you won't get lost."

"but what if i do? y/n really its a big place so many people and the animals and the deviants! you never know." he reasoned trying hard not to smile.

"fine, fine you can hold my hand" you laughed again and he smiled happily holding your hand.

whenever he saw you going anywhere he would come to hold your hand. he didn't care if it was just one step he was still going to hold your hand.

"druig the kitchen is just 8 steps ahead of me" you sighed

"and i would be happy to walk you for 8 steps" he smiled and held your hand for 8 whole steps.

"what even are you trying to do?" kingo spoke, shaking his head his eyebrows scrunched.

druig just rolled his eyes and watched you cook something.

he loved these moments, but his favorite ones were at night when it was just the two of you locked in his room, your head on his head and you slowly tracing the lines on his palm and softly kissing his knuckles, while he gently carded his fingers through your hair.

he told you all of his secrets and his dreams and his fears all while holding your hand.

you made him feel safe and loved and he made you feel the same.
