Stones and Crystals You Shouldn't Cleanse in Salt Water
Amber, Turquoise, Imperial Topaz, Red Coral, Fire Opal, Moonstone, Opal, all Calcites including Blue Calcite, Green Calcite, Orange Calcite, Angelite, Azurite, Kyanite and Kunzite or any raw or rough stone.
Any stone with hardness under 7 should not be cleaned in salt water. If you are not sure of the hardness of the stone use another method of cleaning.
Malachite should be cleaned by putting it under running water and dried in the sun. Never have salt close to Malachite. Malachite is toxic and should only be used in polished form.
Some healing stones such as Calcite, Selenite, and Dioptase will crumble or cleave on contact with water. With these stones, use incense for cleansing.
Citrine, Kyanite, and Azeztulite are self-cleaning.
After the stones are cleansed and dry, they are ready for use and charging. If the stones are for ritual use, wrap them in a clean cloth of natural material, such as cotton, silk or wool. Keep them in a safe place where they will not be handled or touched by other people.
Crystals for Beginners 💎
This is a list of crystals that are commonly known, generally easy to get a hold of, and have multiple uses.
Agate - protection, good luck, balance, strength, inspiration
Amethyst - calming, emotional stability, balance, inner strength, protection from psychic attacks
Aventurine - happiness, peace, healing, prosperity
Calcite - amplifies energy, cleansing, reduce stress, calming, emotional healing, memory
Carnelian - creativity, manifestation, luck, protection
Citrine - does not retain negative energy, thus never needs to be cleansed; creativity, motivation
Clear Quartz - a power stone used to provide extra energy and can be used to charge other items; healing, protection, power, banishing, charging
Fluorite - stability, peace and calm, impartial reasoning, responsibility, concentration, meditation, protection from psychic attacks, self love
Hematite - grounding, deflecting negative energy
Jasper - protection, relaxation, tranquility
Jet - eases grief, protection, banishing
Kyanite - does not retain negative energy, thus never needs to be cleansed; cleansing other stones, tranquility, removing energy blockages, channeling energy
Labradorite - attract success, dreams, reduce stress and anxiety, spiritual connection, transformation, clarity, peace
Milky Quartz - luck, calming, soothing, meditation, purification
Obsidian - grounding, negating and transmuting negative energy
Onyx - grounding
Rose Quartz - self-love, calming, romantic love, and friendship
Selenite - mental clarity, removing energy blockages, cleansing and charging other crystals
Smoky Quartz - grounding, banishing, cleansing, removing emotional blockages
Tiger’s Eye - self-discipline, practicality, protection, grounding, peace, clarity, intelligence, intuition, financial stability, calmness
Cleansing and Charging Crystals - a good rule of thumb is that if you’re not sure if you can place your crystals in water, salt, or direct sunlight because it might damage the stone, use moonlight or starlight instead. You can also place your crystals in a dry bath of herbs and flowers, or pass them through incense smoke.

Blue Kyanite
🌀throat chakra🌀
💙 Vivid dreams 💙 Channeling 💙 Altered states 💙 Visualisation 💙 Loyalty 💙 Honesty 💙 Serenity 💙
Kyanite does not hold on to any negative energies or vibration, being one of the few stones that never needs to be cleansed. While all kyanite is good aligning all your chakras and balancing energies, blue kyanite is good for opening your throat chakra. It helps to encourage communication and self-expression. It cuts through fears and blockages, helping you to speak your truth. It may also help you in recalling your dreams and help bring healing dreams.
Blue kyanite is an excellent stone to use in meditation as it is extremely powerful. It has a strong vibration that assists in opening the psychic channels and activating your conscious mind centers. This can help you in downloading information from higher sources or planes. It merges between the 4th and 3rd dimensions, allowing you to bring higher insights, guidance and information into the physical realm.

🕯️🌿 banishing spell to break someone’s hold over you 🌿🕯️

I’m in a time of transition right now, and as I’m going through all of these big changes, I realized that I was being held back by certain unresolved relationships in my past. I designed this spell as a way of letting go of those people and freeing myself of their influences, so that I can move forward without all this emotional baggage.
What You Will Need:
a small black candle (used for banishing negative influences)
a piece of paper with the name of the person or thing you want to let go of written on it
sage (for cleansing and purification)
an obsidian stone (associated with psychic cleansing, protection, grounding, and personal transformation) (side note: this is also one of my favorite stones to meditate with!)
Optional Components:
fresh or dried basil (wards off negativity, promotes love and happiness, and is associated with peace in many cultures)
a selenite crystal (an extremely powerful cleansing stone, especially for cleansing emotional energies)
a rose quartz crystal (associated with forgiveness, healing, and compassion) (if you don’t have rose quartz, I would recommend using a pink spell candle to bring the energy of compassion and forgiveness into the spell.)
I had two different people I wanted to let go of, so I had two black candles and two pieces of paper. Ordinarily, you should just need one of everything.
Note: This ritual involves setting objects on fire. For this reason, I recommend performing it outside.

Casting the Spell:
Begin by getting yourself into the right mood for magic. Maybe meditate for a few minutes, put on some instrumental music, burn your favorite incense, etc.
Take a moment to ground and center yourself.
Cleanse your space. You can do this by lighting your sage and wafting its smoke around yourself, your tools, and your general area. Close your eyes, inhale the smoke, and feel yourself being cleansed and blessed.
Light your black candle. As you do so, begin thinking about the person or thing you want to let go of, of the effect they have had on your life, and of the reason(s) you need to be free of their influence.
Take the piece of paper with the person or thing’s name written on it, and hold it over the candle flame. PLEASE BE CAREFUL NOT TO BURN YOURSELF. Hold the paper over the flame only long enough for it to light, and then set it down on the ground. It should continue to burn.
As you watch the paper burn, recite the following incantation: “[Name]’s hold over me is broken. He/she/they/it has no power over me. I am free of his/her/their/its influence.”
Repeat this incantation as many times as feels right to you. If you follow my blog, you know that I like to work with the number nine in my magic, so I repeated it nine times.
Allow yourself to feel all of the pain and frustration that this person or thing has caused in your life. Acknowledge these feelings – they are a normal and valid part of our emotional healing process, but they are no longer serving you. You have passed the phase in healing where they are useful. Focus on these feelings for a moment, and then let them go. Feel them being carried away from you, leaving you free of their weight.
If you chose to include basil, use the candle’s flame to light it. Watch the smoke rise and smell its sweet aroma. Feel peace and happiness flowing into you to replace all the pain you’ve just let go of. (Again, be careful not to burn yourself!)
Once you feel at peace, blow out your black candle to end the ritual. I find that with banishings and other “letting go” or “getting rid of” spells, it’s best not to prolong the spell any longer than necessary. Do what you need to do, and then end the ritual. Don’t give these negative influences any more or your time and attention than you absolutely have to.
Light your sage again, and do one final cleansing of yourself and your space. This will make sure that you are cleared of any lingering negativity, and I feel like it kind of just puts a “final seal” on the powerful cleansing you’ve just done.
This spell is all about your healing and personal growth. It’s not about removing the other person from your life, or wishing any harm on them – it is simply a way of cutting the ties that allow them to control you. Because of this, I find that this spell works best after the person or thing you want to let go of is no longer a part of your life, and after you’ve had some time to process your emotions and allow yourself to grieve. Pain has its place, and sometimes we need to allow ourselves to feel it instead of trying to get rid of it immediately.
Kiss that bitch goodbye
For when someone has wronged you and you’re ready to cut them from your life.
💋Gather toilet paper, a pen, lemon juice, and water.
💋Write down their name and how they wronged you on slips of paper.
💋Write down (and speak if you like) what you hope will happen to them.
💋Tear up paper, place at bottom of cup.
💋Add lemon juice “I remove all the sourness you brought to my life and any sourness you would’ve brought in any future”.
💋Add water and stir. “I wash away your ill-affects and ill wishes”.
💋Flush down the toilet.
💋Optional: Blow a kiss and say “bye bitch” (or other colorful language)

Sigil to banish bad luck! Will be used in the spell posted tonight but you can use it for your own purposes if you like! Reblog, don’t repost.
Update: here is the spell
Begone - A little chant to cast someone from your thoughts.

*you can also burn a name sigil, a photo or a representative to aid the chant.*
Be gone from my mind
Be gone from my thoughts
The image of you has made me cross
Be gone from my dreams
Be gone from my heart
With these words you must depart.
Be gone, Be gone, Be gone
As i speak it, leave me alone.

What Being a Kitchen/Cottage Witch Means to Me
>>> Fair warning, I’m pretty excited about this post<<
So, when you hear kitchen witch or cottage witch, what comes to mind? Maybe an old rustic looking room, pots hangin from the wooden ceiling, herbs hanging to dry everywhere. Maybe a gnarled woman hunched over a huge cast iron pot, while fog rolls through, and a clock somewhere strikes midnight…
Okay…Maybe not.
For me, being a kitchen witch means that I take great pride in my food. It means I also put a lot of stock (hahaha get it???) in my family, and my ability to care and nurture them. I put a really heavy focus on friends, family, my home, and myself.
It means I’m constantly looking up recipes. I collect herbs like grandmas collect fancy plates. I’m always trying to learn about new baking methods. I study herbalism and look for natural remedies that are safe and actually work.
Being a cottage witch means I take everything I focus on in the kitchen, and I turn it outward through my whole house, my whole property even. It means I never throw away even the smallest thread, and that broken glass is something I collect in jars just in case. It means that there are sigils written over every window, door and crack, and that even the simplest thing, like my windchimes, or the screen door or the cute little clock above the doorway, all protect my family and my household and ward off even the littlest shit that tries to worm its way through.
It means I have happiness charms hiding behind furniture in every room, it means I focus on helping and healing and comfort, but I also know when to get down and dirty. It means taking no shit from anyone or anything. It means protecting your own.
I take pride in being a kitchen/cottage witch, because it means I’m learning to better take care of myself and my family and home. It gives me peace and comfort and a sense of purpose, to have a literal endless amount of possibilities and no limit on creativity. I can go in any direction I want with my practice, whatever I think will serve my family better. And I love it.
Whoa.
So…
Could making cut cookies, or a pie , and putting a sigil in the dough/crust work?
Would baking charge the sigils- or would it be too much?
College Witch Tips
Especially if you’re living on campus (some of these I have yet to do)
• If you have space on a windowsill, charge crystals there in the sun and under the moon, set up a mini shrine, have some plants (succulents are great bc low maintenance) • Your dining commons may have salt packets or sugar packets that you can put in your pockets and have on the go • Carry a stone or two that you feel works best daily for you or for an exam day or something specific in your bag • Write sigils on post it notes, whatever sizes and colors you want, stick them in books, folders, in your dorm room closet, in your desk • Simple witchy thing, especially if you’re living in apartment style housing: buy plants! Or seeds to grow something! People usually don’t mind plants in open living spaces, plus it’ll make your place look cute too • ONLY IF YOU FEEL COMF ENOUGH: let your roommate(s) or suite mates know you’re a witch if you feel they’ll respect you, your space, your stuff and any witchy rituals and such you may wanna perform • Kitchen witchcraft is always valid! Look up certain ingredients you have (doesn’t have to be fancy) and their purposes, cook with witchy intent! Sometimes I say little spells or affirmations in my head as I stir and boil things.
Any other college witch tips anyone wants to add on please feel free to do so! Blessed be! 🔮
