Though his nose sweetly brushing against my cheek as he leaned down to peer at my notes suggested the latter. It reminded me, faintly, of a predator sniffing out its prey. So….. what did that make me? The hare that fell in love with the fox, the mouse that fell in love with the cat, the sheep that fell in love with the wolf? And what did that make him, if he returned the sentiment?

hey maybe if ur idea of self ship realism is totally just "my f/o wouldn't stand me/hurt me/abuse me" maybe u need to step back and think about the other possibilities. Not everything has to be a slippery slope to self hatred or sabotage. Maybe they grow patient and understanding, maybe they open up a little to you, maybe they start becoming gentler. Idk maybe don't use canon as gospel and approach it in a sense of why would they break character or do that for you? Maybe they love you. Just a thought.
