Thank you (and Gabe) for making such a wonderful game! Before I heard about Smile For Me I hadn't drawn in months and I was in a major depressive slump, but since finding out about it a few weeks ago I've drawn so much and I've made a lot of new bonds, and those bonds have helped me start to take care of myself again. SFM has been a really positive force in my life and I can't wait to see what you do next.

Hi all. Feeling a bit emotional! We got some very sweet messages over the last couple of days. When we started Smile For Me, it was a tiny pet project - we wanted to put a kind, personal game out in the world, and we didn’t expect to form a large (or even small) audience. Instead, we got an outpouring of amazing people working to create a wonderful community. I believe that the communities of individual games have a huge potential to be positive influences, and you all have proven that 100 times over. It’s hugely inspirational. The “games” community on a whole can be an exclusive place. The best we can do as individuals is to acknowledge exclusion we observe, and set a better example ourselves. SO many of you have worked to be inclusive and positive. I really could not ask for a better audience. Please know that we are behind you 100% of the way. Even if we can’t/don’t respond, we read (and are often moved by) all of our messages. We can do that because negativity is so sparse, which is an incredible privilege. Even critiques of the game are typically respectful. Since community autonomy is important, we’ve let the fanbase self-develop. Even though we’ve been hands-off, we’re watching to ensure that inclusivity prevails. If there comes a time when we need to intervene to keep the community a positive space, we will. As such, please reach out to me personally if you have concerns that you think we should know about. We’re generally aware of major issues, but my inbox is open to your concerns and points of view! I’m always open to have a conversation about the culture around the game. You’re wonderful, and we care about you all deeply. Thank you for going on this journey with us! Oh, yeah, I plan on it being a comic! At least that’s what I think will suit it best…? I’m already writing things, but I must say, I am not Fast at making comics. But don’t worry, I’ll keep posting fun little doodles of them and such, as always!! A disclaimer though: It’s going to be quite gory, NSFW in a few ways. Not all of it, though, only sometimes. Just thought I’d mention that here ahead of time. I’m quite the extreme horror fan, so I thought I’d finally make something as a result of that, haha!
