Found a bird's nest under the fig trees this morning. Looks like maybe a mockingbird nest. The fledglings have all flown weeks ago.

I have been off Tumblr for a few months. Really busy working on a new body of work. In the meanwhile finished this embroidery, inspired by pine bark.

Also changed my blog name. Since I'm no longer doing quilts, I thought this made more sense.

September 1. Goodbye to August. We found a baby squirrel. He fell from the nest and was left. He is doing good and has a healthy appetite.
