I'll make a longer post explaining my thought process + the other ideas I have sometime tomorrow. When I’m done, I’d love to poll people’s favourites to see which should become the final cover! Should I finish the other mock-ups, or is 6 already an obscene number of options???

So…. hypothetically….. if someone were designing a book cover/jacket for “This Story That We Found Ourselves In” what would you, the esteemed author, want it to look like?

Oooh this is a dangerous question, I love it. You know, I played around with that classic book cover generator a while back and I never actually came up with something I like. I have so many ideas it’s hard to think of one cohesive design, but I do like the idea of one of their balcony scenes being the central image. Like, just the two of them sharing a blanket, looking out over the New York skyline together. Maybe specifically the scene where Nancy plays with Robin’s wedding ring without really realizing it

There are of course a dozen different images that would be decent cover designs, like red carpets and camera flashes and fantasy movie sets and magazine spreads, or something from one of the 80s party scenes, or even the lake house or robin and Steve’s living room during game nights. But I think the balcony scenes were such strong emotional beats when writing it that if I had to choose one picture for a cover, that would be it
