Raised in Australia, Bang Chan, a Korean, has known basic vocabulary in several languages since he was a child.

He always knew simple phrases like "hello", "goodbye", "good morning", etc..

After getting to know you, he began to learn your native language too.

But he didn't tell you that.

Today, you came to visit him in his studio as usual.

After putting down the food you brought him, you went to the door and were ready to leave.

But before you did, you suddenly remembered something.

"Chan."

You called out his name.

Hearing your voice, Chan took off his headphones and turned around to look at you.

"I love you, my producer."

You said to him in your native language and then turned around to leave.

"I love you too, my love."

What you didn't expect, was for him to answer you.

Minho

You didn't expect Minho to know any of the words in your native language at all.

He wasn't even very proficient in English, after all.

Knowing this, you didn't teach him any words or phrases.

You thought he wouldn't be able to memorize any of them.

That night you both had some trouble sleeping, so he took you with him to the practice room to watch him dance.

As you watched him dance, you uttered the phrase "beautiful" in your native language without realizing it.

His dancing figure suddenly halted.

Just when you thought he injured himself, he suddenly came to you.

With sweat sliding down his forehead and heavily breathing, his eyes were bright.

"Say that again."

"I thought you said I was beautiful. Say it again."

You and Changbin were fighting over some petty issues.

It wasn't anything serious, but you still refused to back down.

You would always lose when you argued with him because your Korean wasn't as good and sometimes you couldn't express what you wanted to convey.

He would always beat you in arguments, and you felt very frustrated about it.

Today was no different, as he stood over there smugly, making you furious.

"Shorty!!!"

You shouted in your native language.

You had thought for sure he wouldn't understand and were going to say it a few more times.

But after hearing the word, Changbin jumped up immediately.

"What did you say I was? Try saying it again?!"

Hyunjin

You and Hyunjin were watching TV at home when your mom called you.

You were going to get up and go to the other room to answer, but Hyunjin held you down and wouldn't let you move.

You had no choice but to pick up the phone on the couch.

"Mom, my annoying boyfriend is on top of me right now and won't let me get up."

You didn't look at Hyunjin when you said this, but he was already glaring at you.

After exchanging a few words with your mom, you hung up the phone.

Hyunjin immediately beamed with dissatisfaction.

"How could you call your boyfriend annoying? I'm hurt…"

"You understood?" You asked in surprise.

"Well of course I did! I can't have you talking behind my back!"

Jisung

Your old friend came to visit you in Korea and Jisung accompanied you to the airport to pick them up.

As soon as they saw you and Jisung, your friend pulled you aside.

"Hey! Y/N, I didn't know your boyfriend was so handsome!"

"Handsome? I feel like he's more cute than handsome, isn't he?"

Jisung came forward somewhat aggrieved to hear you say that.

"Am I not handsome? Am I just cute? Are you sure Y/N?"

Your eyes widened as you looked at him in disbelief.

"Even your friend thinks I'm handsome, how could you disagree?"

You laughed a little awkwardly.

Jisung took your wrist, not about to let you off the hook.

"Kiss me. Kiss me and I'll forgive you."

Felix

After the pandemic was over, you finally took Felix back to your home country with you to meet your parents.

"Mom and Dad, this is-"

"Hello Mr. and Mrs. Y/L/N, I'm Y/N's boyfriend Felix, it's nice to meet you!"

Felix stole the show and introduced himself before you could finish.

You looked over at him and blinked in surprise.

He smiled back at you.

The words "compliment me" were written all over his face.

You thought he only remembered that one sentence.

But then he surprised you further by actually being able to communicate with your parents.

Even though you came to see your parents, they seemed to have forgotten about you.

"I love Y/N very much and Y/N is very important to me!"

But your parents seemed to like Felix a lot, and that's what's important.

Today was their concert and you were invited backstage.

From a distance, you saw Seungmin running towards you.

He looked like a puppy who hadn't seen its owner for a long time.

"Cute puppy."

You couldn't help but say.

You saw Seungmin put his hands on his waist when he heard the name.

"Not just cute, I'm a charismatic puppy today."

Although you were surprised for a moment that he understood, what surprised you even more was that he was able to answer you.

"When did you learn so many words?"

The staff members came in at that moment to tell him it was time for him to go on stage.

Before he left, he looked back at you.

While playing a game with Jeongin, you lost to him.

You thought Jeongin would just laugh and start the next round, but he looked up at you after hearing the word.

Warnings!: Blood, fictional dangerous creatures, cursing words! Open ending, angst

"I don't think this is a good idea, dude" Said Felix to Steve, once he parked his car outside the Bayer's house. It was around 9:00 p.m and the sky was becoming darker and darker. 

"Felix, I promise I'm here to apologize" Said Steve. "Plus, there is a good chance that (Y/N) is here. You should apologize too"

Felix sighed softly. He knew Steve Harrington was right. After all those nasty things he said to Nancy after being unfairly accused of cheating on his best friend, he should apologize to Nancy and to you. He really didn't want to, he actually thought he was protecting you from that weirdo who took private pictures of you without your consent at Steve's house. But now, Nancy, and probably you, were inside Jonathan`s house, doing god knows what, hours right after Johnatan punched the crap out of Steve in that alley.  

Not waiting for Felix, Steve got out of the car and walked towards the door. Felix followed him, hugging himself as the late night air hit his frame. After a couple of knocks, Nancy`s pretty face appeared displaying a startled expression that turned into an irritated one.

“Steve, you should NOT be here!”

“Yes, I know, I promise I just want to apologize…”

“I told you already, leave! We will talk about it later”

“No, no, we must clear things out…” 

The discussion became heated, Nancy not letting Steve fully speak, asking him to leave. Johnatan shouted for Nancy to cut the conversation from the inside, but Steven could not just give up on her. Felix was getting frustrated until he noticed that something was wrong with the lights, they were glitching, the flickering of the entrance light was adding to his frustration, he was about to go back to the car, when he heard your fearful voice from the inside.

"NANCY" you cried, reaching everyone's attention.

Felix impulse was quicker than Nancy herself, pushing Steve out of the way, and kicking the door fully open, even when Nancy was holding on it, avoiding his view.

Now Felix and Steve could see the whole escenario inside:

Colorful Christmas lights blinking over the place, illuminating you and Johnathan, who were back to back. Horrified expressions printed in your faces, holding on weapons as if your life depended on it.

"What is goin..."

"LEAVE NOW!" Insisted Nancy

Both, you and Johnathan didn't seem to care about Felix and Steve coming in all of the sudden, looking frantically all over the house. Felix tried to approach you, but Johnathan was the one who spoke first.

"Fuck! Drop it Nancy, it is here"

The light's blinking became faster, dazzling and dizzying, almost blinding the five of you.

Felix wanted to ask what was going on, but he saw your terrified face through the small glimpses of colored lights and tried again to approach you, to hold your hand and calm you down... Until a sound echoed the house, making his spine to shiver.

"WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON WITH THAT WALL?!" Screamed Steve, making all look at the direction his finger was aiming.

Felix froze at his spot.

An unknown figure was passing through the wall. It was big and noisy. The sight was almost ghostly, taken straight from a horror story to his eyes.

BANG BANG BANG

The gun shots took him and Steve by surprise. Nancy in front of you all, holding a pistol with both of her hands. The bullets didn't stop, Nancy didn't hesitate any second, walking closer until the creature in the wall made the weirdest noises and with a thunderous cry, disappeared. Making the lights get back to normal.

The five of you sighed loudly in relieve. But not longer after, Johnathan and Nancy tried to kick Steve and Felix out of the house.

"Nancy, don't, explain what was that!" Steve exclaimed as Nancy pushed him outside.

"(Y/N)!" Cried Felix when Johnathan tried to approach him to walk him out.

"Felix, you should leave" You said feeling guilty.

It was the first time he heard your voice after your argument. He knew he won't feel calm until you were out of that place. He wasn't over, but Johnathan was stronger and pushed him outside, making Felix trip over Steve, falling clumsily together. The door was loudly closed not long after.

Steve helped Felix tk stand up, they both dusted off themselves and got inside the car.

"Are we really going to leave them?" Asked Felix remembering the... Thing.

"I don't want to either" Said Steve, leaving clear he was worried too.

"Then?" Asked Felix.

"Should we go back and help? I mean, they know more than us, they are armed, but... You know..." Steve was having a hard time. He was horrified to say the least, but he was as much worried as Felix.

Felix reply was paused by the front light. It was glitching...

Through the windows, it was visible that the whole house was blinking, the light coming and going, over and over, until the noises were back, along with screams.

This was it.

Steve and Felix, almost simultaneously, stepped out of the car and walked to the door.

Pov. Change (Inside the house)

Your heart was racing, it was almost in your throat when the demogorgon crawled towards the three of you.

"Shit!" Said Nancy.

She was out of bullets.

In the last attempt to save your lives, Nancy threw the pistol at the thing, pathetically doing less than nothing.

You held your bat with nails closer to you, using it more as a shield than as a weapon. Was it over? What a peculiar way to die. Devoured by a humanoid creepy figure that you found at Johnathan's house.

The only thing you wanted was to get some revenge, revenge of what they did to Barb. To kill that monster that took her way from Nancy and from you...

It all happened when Steve organized a party in his house. Steve asked Nancy to bring a girl, space, friend, to meet his new friend, who was an exchange student from Australia. That night you met Felix.

This could have been your highschool dream life: found a lovely boyfriend like Felix, hanging out with the cool guys, Nancy, Steve, and include Barb...

But shit got weird.

First, Barbara disappeared.

Second, you found out about Johnathan stalking you all that party night.

And third, and the most recent: you fought with Felix that morning.

Leading everything to this exact moment when you are monster hunting with Nancy Wheeler and the stalker.

...

"(Y/N)! WATCH OUT!" screamed Nancy, distracting you from your self pity monologue.

The demogorgon falling on top of you not longer after. The thing being incredibly strong, griping your figure with its claws on your sides, making you cry in pain.

That was the most terrifying experience you ever had. The overwhelming feeling of helplessness, knowing that not even with all your survival instincts united would you be able to move that beast in the slightest. Coming to the conclusion that there is no way to survive, but your instinct making you fight anyway.

Your head dug into your memories to give you any idea, any motivation to keep you alive; then you found him... The will to fix things with Felix. The need to talk to him one last time. If only he were here.

"TAKE THAT, SON OF A BITCH!"

You heard his deep voice followed by a loud thud against the skull of the beast. The claws freeing your sides, making you breathe again.

You frantically hurriedly surveyed your surroundings. realizing that Felix was there, beating the demogorgon to the ground, along with Steve. Both holding yours and Johnathan's nailed bats. Nancy hurried to your side, along with Johnathan, helping you to stand and hiding you in a room.

You were left alone in what seemed to be Johnathan's mother's room, laying on the bed, so you can try to recover. Your mind was noisy and dizzy. It was hard to understand everything that just happened. The only things you knew it was that you were bleeding, that the demogorgon was still there, being beaten by Steve and Felix, and that Felix just saved you.

Oh, your Felix... You really wanted to apologize for the fight. You knew he was feeling guilty for what he did. You knew he wanted to apologize too. There were a lot of things to be said, you just had to stay alive and bear the pain until you can be taken to a hospital and cure your wounds... You just had to stay alive.

It was getting harder to breathe when you heard that someone lit fire on the demogorgon, because of the way it cried. The sound of wood burning was getting bigger and bigger, along with the smell of smoke. Not long after, you heard steps hurrying to your room. You weren't sure of how, but you knew it was him...

He was carrying you now, inside... A car? Your senses were asleep now, you could hardly feel Felix hand on your hair, and barely hear his voice asking you to stay with him.

"don't tell me you are crying" that's all you could manage to say.

"Sorry" he said clearing his tears.

"nah" you said feeling dizzy.

"I didn't protect you" He lamented.

"You did" you were forcing yourself to speak at this point.

"I should have listened to you, and none of this would have happened " He began to cry more.

You tried to come with an answer, but you were so tired and confused. Only one thing was clear, and you had to say in, just in case you don't survive: "I love you"

He understood.

you’re slow to wake up, a rare day when you have nothing to do and you aren’t shocked to life by the sound of your alarm. each sense returns to you one by one, slow and sweet as syrup.

you start hearing the birds chirping songs outside, getting louder as your hearing clears up. the steady clicking of the wall clock in the hallway makes you want to smother your head into your pillow until it stops. you hear soft breathing, little snuffles and tiny snores, coming from near you. you listen to a car passing by outside, pitying whoever has to be up and about on a lazy sunday morning.

next, you taste your morning breath, complete with remnants of the drinks you had last night. it lays heavy on your tongue and clings to your teeth. it’s almost enough to send you tumbling out of bed to brush your teeth but you don’t want to leave the safety and warmth you’re cocooned in right now.

you begin to register the feeling of the blanket around you, tangled in your toes and swaddling your arm. this isn’t your blanket. this certainly isn’t your pillowcase. and it most definitely isn’t your own arm that your head is half pillowed onto. but every item is as familiar to yourself as your own belongings. the morning sun rays brush your face, providing a tingling warmth that you so rarely get to enjoy.

the deep breath you pull through your nose as you sigh in contentment makes the scent of strawberry and mint hit your senses. it’s intoxicating, a combination of smells that you know quite well and can place anywhere. you smell the faint trace of laundry detergent and lingering sweat in the pillowcase.

lastly, you crack your eyes open one at a time to take him in. the soft, tan skin of his arm under your head, protective and strong. the lush lips shaped like a bowstring, still bruised and bitten from the night before. the splatter of golden freckles dusting his cheeks and the slope of his nose, painting the picture of perfection. his soft blonde hair, messed up from sleeping, a halo around his head. his long eyelashes fanning across his eyelids, and oh, there he is, his deep brown eyes looking right into yours.

it was one of those easy-a courses where the professor reads off the slides and you can afford to not pay attention and still do pretty well as long as you memorise everything

so most of the people pretty much either skipped class or blatantly didn’t pay attention, treating the lecture as a 2-hour podcast that they treat as background noise

seungkwan wouldn’t say he was the best student, but he thinks it’s a safe estimate that he tried harder than 80% of the people who even showed up to class

it wasn’t a very fun time though </3 with people either dozing off or doing their own thing, he hadn’t made a single friend in the class because it just felt awkward to suddenly approach someone halfway through the semester :(

sometimes vernon snuck into the auditorium to keep him company whenever he didn’t have tutorials <3 we love friends <3

but the lecturer was just so good at lulling people to sleep that he’s usually out cold half an hour in </3 once again leaving seungkwan to his own devices </3

the class had to do an individual presentation on an assigned topic, and in the lesson following the deadline your lecturer randomly picked twenty people off the name list to present theirs in front of everyone

that was the day you caught seungkwan’s eye <333

everyone else before you didn’t bother trying to look like they were interested in the topic, which was understandable, but that meant their presentations were barely engaging and he was fighting to keep his eyes open 😭

but then your name was called, and he heard murmured apologies from a few rows behind him as you made your way down to the podium

you were so cute with your glasses, the large lens complementing your bright eyes perfectly as you shyly began speaking

but perhaps the most attractive part about you was your attitude; you were cheerful and friendly, not excessively so, but enough to have the bored audience paying attention

your friend seokmin noted the skip in your step as you met up with him for dinner that night, and you excitedly pulled out the chocolate and the note to show him

“looks like someone has a secret admirer,” he affectionately teased, but it couldn’t be, right? you never talked to anyone in this class aside from that one time you asked a boy for a spare sheet of paper. plus, the class has over a hundred people, you’d be practically invisible

you thought you just got lucky that one time, but the notes kept coming for every lesson that followed, and the snack or drink that came with each sticky note was also different every week

even the girl who sat next to you during one of the lectures gushed over how sweet the gesture was when she saw you reading the note, and it led you to realise just how much you liked this mystery person, how they managed to get you to look forward to a morning class on a monday

deep down, you were dying to know who they were because they seem so thoughtful and easy to talk to; you’d love to meet them to thank them for their kindness and maybe even treat them to lunch or dinner as a sign of gratitude. who knows? perhaps you’d even end up being friends

and technically, you knew it’d be easy to catch them in the act—pretend to leave your seat and spy from afar until the mystery person made their move, but you resisted the urge with all your willpower, because if they wanted to reveal themselves, they would’ve; the fact that they didn’t told you they most likely weren’t comfortable with doing so yet, and you wanted to respect that

so you decided to communicate with them another way: by leaving them a snack and a little message of your own

bonus: it was also a great chance to finally break out your hoard of adorable stickers and notepads <3

your messages to each other got longer and longer; from just a few sentences wishing the other a lovely rest of the day, to short paragraphs telling each other little tidbits about yourselves and your week

you found out that they like tangerines (which made sense given the sticky notes they use), that they’re a journalism major, and that they like playing badminton and hanging out with their friends when they have free time <3 all of which you found completely endearing

seungkwan loves your notes with all his heart ;-; he honestly wasn’t expecting you to return the gesture, simply wanting to do something nice for someone who seemed like a fun person to be around, but the fact that you did has his heart racing and heat rushing to his cheeks

you didn’t hear from him that class, which made you a little sad, but you were ready to prepare yourself for the inevitable outcome that you’d never know who this person is and that this all would simply remain a fond memory in your uni life </3

the week leading up to the last lecture, all of seungkwan’s closest friends hyped him up so much 😞 they knew how much he liked you and from the notes you wrote back it was clear that you liked him just as much

after a lot of encouragement, he wrote you the final note and dropped it off at your table during the 10-minute break

you could barely focus for the rest of the class, which wasn’t a huge deal anyways as the lecturer was simply going over the answers to your quiz

you kept glancing at the clock in the hall, at your watch, at the time on your laptop, then the time on your phone, eagerly counting down the minutes to the end of class

when your lecturer dismissed everyone, you were so nervous that you felt like you were going to throw up, for a split second you wondered if this was a good idea, but you ultimately decided to take a few deep breaths to compose yourself before heading outside

most of your classmates had already dispersed, not wanting to linger on campus for any longer after their last lecture of the day, so it was easy to narrow down who your mystery friend was

as you walked over to the water dispensers, you couldn’t help but think how it was almost too good to be true: standing next to the dispensers was a cute boy with the fluffiest hair and squishiest cheeks, wearing what looks like the softest sweater ever as he anxiously rocked back and forth on his heels

maybe this is a coincidence? maybe he isn’t the person you’re looking for but a cute guy who just so happened to be waiting for someone else?

all these questions brewing in your head were squashed when he gave you a shy smile as you drew closer, a quiet “hi” passing through his pretty lips

it was awkward, but not uncomfortably so

“are you…?” “the person who wrote you the notes? yeah, that’s me.”

you noticed how he wrung his hands together nervously as he confessed, and hoped that the warm smile you gave in return would be enough to reassure him

“it was so sweet of you to do that for me, thank you. i’m y/n, but you probably already knew that.”

he chuckles, cheeks still tinged a rosy pink, “yeah… i’m seungkwan.”

“well, seungkwan, i don’t have class after this anymore, so do you want to get lunch together?”

his eyes almost bugged out of his head at your invitation, but he quickly recovered and eagerly agreed, telling you he knew about this new place just outside campus that had really good sushi

you honestly couldn’t believe your luck: he was funny, sweet, and kind, and the two of you chatted like you’ve been friends for years as you ate, even going to get coffee together after because neither of you wanted your conversation to end <33 after a few more months of being friends and getting to know each other, he asked you out properly during one of your coffee shop study dates 💗

and now after almost two years of dating, the two of you still kept those notes from all those months ago in a little box tucked away safely in a desk drawer at your apartment

and when your friends asked you two if you were going to save them to show your future children, seungkwan merely responded with two playful, haughty words

another teasy member but he’s probably teasing you while you’re literally asleep just to distract himself from how flustered he is. takes a bunch of horrible photos of you from unflattering angles to send you later but accidentally falls asleep on your shoulder a week later and sees you get your revenge. spends the whole time wondering if he could reach your lips for a lil kiss but is too scared of waking you up to try 😭

falls asleep on you too, pretty much immediately. the members have multiple photos of you sleeping on his shoulder and him sleeping with his cheek nuzzled into your hair. at some point your hands found each others’ and it’s cute but it also reminds you of those couple’s remains from like pompeii or something where they’re clinging onto each other 😭 he probably drooled in your hair accidentally too but you were both surprisingly comfortable for positions that looked so awful on the neck 💞 next time you try to aim for his chest instead though.

Today has been a regular day for everyone, the cold winter breeze blowing as it caresses their skin and freezes their fingers. The weather serves as a perfect excuse to hold your loved one’s hands in attempts of warming them and stealing secret little touches from them. This morning brings your joy, and excitement of a new semester along with the end of a long wait for the sequel of your favourite fantasy series.

The bookstore around the corner is in sight, and upon entering it, you are greeted by the comforting smell of books graced with a hint of vanilla. It smells like home, warm and tender, opening its arms wide for you to find peace in its embrace.

Your eyes scan across the display for the sight of the anticipated book and when they finally find it, your legs move on their own as if your body is reacting to the joy bursting in your mind upon spotting the red and black hardcover. The black cover is inked with red, to colour the engravings and it reminds you of your satin face mask. You smile to yourself at the pretty memory and brush back the hair falling on your eyes with your other hand.

As your hand advances forward to pick the book, it accidentally brushes against a young man’s fingers. He’s determined to grab the particular copy but you had laid eyes on it first, so theoretically it belongs to you. 

Your eyes trail upwards, along the sleeve of his beige coat and eventually land upon his eyes. They’re mesmerising, as if the soft brown irises hold back a tragic history of war and glory enclosed behind them. You find yourself getting lost in them, as your heartbeat fastens when the pad of his fingers caress your wrist, curling themselves around it. The raven hair graciously falling over them enhances his beauty as if he isn’t a Greek god. 

His soft lips, blushed with a coral tint, part and slip out a few words. “You can have it.” He says softly, and it is much of a whisper to ears but they are blessed to hear his gracious voice. “I was just looking at it..” he trails along, unlocking the grip of his fingers on your wrist and turning away from you as he rubs his neck. He had decided to lay his eyes everywhere except in your direction. You catch a glimpse of his red ears before he disappears into one of the isles as you chuckle at his shyness. 

If anyone would have told you that this fine man will end up as your dear boyfriend, you’d have dared not to believe them. It was painfully impossible for someone as sweet as him to love you but on this day, it is no longer a myth nor a legend but rather a beautiful reality.

MINGI. Being your biggest cheerleader. No matter how small or big your achievements are, he’ll congratulate you and shower you in praises. The same goes to your failures. He’ll be there to cheer you up and reassure you. “Don’t worry, honey. I know you’ll make better pancakes next time, maybe better than me.”

WOOYOUNG. Calls you the most annoying nicknames that you somehow find endearing. He relates these to how you look or feel at that time. This includes but is not limited to chicken legs, burnt french toast, caveman, biblically accurate angel, hotsauce, earthworm, chewbacca, butterfingers, etc. would prolly say this after you woke up, “ You look lovely, my dear chewbacca.”

JONGHO. Holds your hand while sleeping. It started during the first few months of your relationship. He wanted to make sure that you were comfortable with him. He would grab your hand and squeeze it, asking for assurance. And, he would be the happiest man on this earth when you squeeze it back. It’s something that follows throughout your entire relationship, even in sleep. If you both have argued, you would find him sleeping on the floor beside the bed while holding your hand. Or, even normally, he would do so when cuddling.

There were a few simple pleasures you adored — picnic dates in the city park, warm and sunny days, and mint chocolate ice cream. Oh, and annoying your boyfriend. Yeah, you loved to do that.

You brought the cone up up to your lips, tongue extending out to lick a stripe over the mound of quickly melting ice cream. You hummed in enjoyment just before laughing to yourself at the exasperated sigh of your lover.

Hongjoong sat to the left of you, legs crossed under him as he sat atop the blanket you’d brought for this picnic. His eyes never left the small sketchbook in his lap, hand continuing to draw over the blank page. “Who knew someone could be so loud when eating ice cream.”

You giggled. “What? I’m enjoying it.”

His eyes shot to you for just a second before going back to his sketch, but you didn’t miss the way they rolled. “How could you possibly enjoy that? Mint chocolate is disgusting.”

You gasped, feigning hurt. “You take that back! Mint chocolate is the best!” You took a hardy bite out of the scoop and crunched on the rich chocolate chunks.

Hongjoong stuck out his tongue at you. “Might as well just eat toothpaste,” he said with a scrunch of his nose.

You rolled your eyes while you licked away at the cool cream. You swished the melting cream within your mouth just before leaning over into your boyfriend’s space, smacking your lips. You took another lick, placing the cone next to his face. “Mmh, this toothpaste sure is delicious!”

He leaned away from you, pencil dropping from his fingers and landing on his sketchbook. He laughed while his now free hand swatted at you playfully, though there was a genuine expression of disgust that flashed across his face. “Quit that!”

You laughed as you backed away. You reclined, resting your weight on your hand that wasn’t currently holding a melty ice cream cone, and looked around at the serene park surrounding you. The two of you fell into a comfortable silence. Hongjoong’s creativity continued to manifest on his page, while you savored your minty treat and relished in the warmth of the day.

The city park was always so pretty this time of year with the blossoming trees that have come back to life after a long winter, standing as a stark contrast to the concrete buildings that towered just beyond them. People, much like you, were out in the park to soak up the sunlight. It was all so serene, and you understood why Hongjoong loved to come here. It was an artist’s daydream.

You gazed over at him to watch him as he drew, eyes peaking over his busy hand to see what he was creating. By now he had filled much of the originally blank page with what looked like to be sketches of the tree line. He’d captured the soft, lushness of the trees as well as the harsh and sharp jungle of concrete behind them. You smiled.

Cold wetness was suddenly all over your hand, and you gasped when you saw that the ice cream had begun to leak all over you, turning into a sticky mess. You quickly brought it to your lips to lick away the mess, sucking and slurping to get up all the excess ice cream. You didn’t even register that you were being watched until you heard a chuckle.

Hongjoong’s eyes were fond and maybe even held a glimmer of something else, but the look of hatred for the cone in your hand was ever present. “I’m pretty sure the whole park can hear your slurping on that cone, love.”

You smiled sheepishly. “It was melting.”

“Well hurry up and finish it, will you?”

You held it out to him, inviting him to taste some. “I want you to have a bite.”

Hongjoong gave you an odd look. “Absolutely not.”

You poked out your bottom lip. “Please! Do it for me? I promise I’ll stop bothering you if you do.”

He hummed, finger tapping at his chin like he was mulling it over. “Promise?”

You nodded enthusiastically. Was he actually going to have some? You offered him your cone as he moved in closer, but when he leaned in passed it, you opened your mouth to question him only for the words to get stuck in your throat.

His lips pressed into yours, effectively silencing you. Hongjoong kissed you through your shock until he felt you relax, your body becoming pliant under his touch. He grinned against you when you returned his kiss with fervor, hand sliding up to cradle your jaw.

You moaned when his tongue slipped into your mouth. You allowed him to taste you, to feel every inch his tongue wanted to explore. You didn’t even care about being in public, too caught up in him and his lips and his touch. You weren’t expecting him to kiss you, especially not like this. His lips on yours always made you feel hazy and warm, and your brain ceased to function fully when he had you this way.

Hongjoong broke the kiss and took the time to look over your face to enjoy the dazed gleam in your eyes. He grinned, tongue darting out to lap up the lingering hint of mint. “There, I tried some. Happy?”

You nodded slowly, barely processing what had just happened. Your ice cream cone sat melted and forgotten in your grasp.

A/n: Just need to get this idea out of my head- so yea, something fluffy for our OG Hwang Hyunjin <3 Likes, reblogs and feedbacks are very much appreciated!

It was a day off for Hyunjin, he had been spending the whole morning and evening clinging to you and following you everywhere, claiming that he needed to make up for lost time. 

At this point, you were seriously wondering if he was a koala bear in his previous life because he quite literally took clinging to a whole new level. From the moment he woke up on your shared bed, he had been hugging you with both hands and legs, trapping you like an octopus. Then you had to drag his clingy ass to the washroom to freshen up. After freshening up, again you dragged him along to the kitchen so that you can prepare breakfast for the both of you. Whenever you are, however you moved, he's just there. 

His front pressing firmly to your back with his hands clasped together in front of you. When you questioned him for his actions he simply whined and responded with, "But babe, don't you miss me??? 'Cause I've missed you terribly and today I'm gonna get all the affection and love that I've been missing out for the past three whole weeks!" What followed after his whining was soft lips pressed on the back of your bare neck. You can only sigh in adoration at his clinginess, reaching for his clasped hands, you returned his affection by placing a brief peck on top of his left hand. In return, he buried his face in the crook of your neck, a habit he developed when he gets shy. He loves to hide there claiming that no one, not even you can see his flustered state.

To be honest, you have missed him a whole lot too, which was why you just let him be. Plus you were pretty sure he knew you missed him just as much as he missed you. Though after hours of him clinging to you, you had to tell him to get off because he somehow overestimated your ability to support his weight for long hours. You're getting worn out moving around with the extra weight on your back. 

At that, he just pouted and proceeded to stomp towards the living room to turn on the television all the while mumbling, "Hmph, guess I'll just spend time with Seungmin then. We'll watch that drama and discuss the storyline together." You resumed your previous task and just shrugged without sparing him a glance. You missed the betrayed look he had on because you didn't go after him, and he missed the way your lips quirked into a small smile at his antics. 

When you were done with the house chores, Hyunjin was still watching the drama with Seungmin on the line. Seeing that he was enjoying himself, you mentally cancelled the plan to join him. Instead, you opted to silently made your way to your shared bedroom. You let slip a small sigh when your butt finally comes in contact with the bed. Deciding that you should have some me time too, you chose to read a novel that you bought weeks ago. Just when you were about to reach the interesting part, you heard it. 

"Babyyy." There he is. Your big baby. Hyunjin's voice can be heard from the outside of your shared bedroom. 

Hyunjin can be loud or quiet depending on the circumstances, and right now he had chosen to be loud. 

"Babeeeeeeeee." This time his whining had just gotten louder accompanied by his fast-approaching footsteps.

Hyunjin's voice tends to become louder and higher in pitch than usual especially when he gets whiny and sulky, like now...

His footsteps stopped in front of the bedroom. You were no longer paying attention to the novel thanks to Hyunjin. But still, you stayed put and were pointedly looking at the novel on your lap as you were hell-bent on not giving in to his antics. 

Then the bedroom door creaked open and closed, you picked up on the little puffs he let out, a habit of his before he whines. Before he can do just that, you were quick to cut him off.

"Hwang Hyunjin. One more time and I will punch you." With kisses. Of course, you left out the last part, after all, you didn’t want him to get any cockier than he already was. 

You heard a tiny "hmph" and everything went silent. You had to force yourself to keep a straight face and suppressed yourself from squealing out loud due to him being too cute. Seconds later, you heard the quiet shuffling of his indoor slippers against the floor from the bedroom door to his side of the bed, then a pause, then his weight dipping on the bed accompanied by the rustling of bed sheets. And you knew Hyunjin is now on the bed.

Wordlessly, from his side of the bed, he rolled towards you. His fluffy hair brushed against the side of your left thigh. When he observed that you were not going to pay attention to him, he grudgingly held your left arm away from your lap before moving to lay his head on your lap. As soon as he felt comfortable enough, he promptly placed your left hand on his head, an invitation or in this case, a demand for you to play with his hair or just massage his scalp. 

Finally, you gave up pretending to read the novel and turned to face him only to be surprised by his tear-stained closed eyes. Your heart clenched at the sight before you. As if being able to sense your worries even with both eyes closed, he gave you a small smile and explained, "It's the drama, it even had Seungmin crying." A chuckle escaped his lips, laughing at the younger male's suffering.

You hummed in response, head bent slightly until your faces were inches apart. You pressed gentle kisses on both his eyelids before going back up and worked on massaging his scalp. This time, you didn't missed the fluttering of his closed eyes, the small sigh released and the pretty smile adorning his face. Slowly you felt him relax completely against you. Then you resorted to just card your fingers through his hair. It was moments later that he called for your attention in a drowsy voice.

"You know? I love you. A lot. So so muchhhh." the next thing you knew, the light snoring from him let you know that he was fast asleep. You can only let out a soft laugh before yet again bending slightly to drop a kiss on his lips and an "I love you too, my love".

Han-seo’s home should have been silent at this hour. Other than the distant sound of his fridge running, and of him turning over in bed for the ninety-seventh time in vain hopes of his thoughts taking a new angle from his head’s new position on the pillow, there should not have been your soft footsteps, and your gentle push on the door of his bedroom. Had it been locked, it would have made no difference. Your coming here was fueled by enough determination that whether a door or Jang Joon-woo himself stood in your way, you’d reach your destination and complete the task you wished to.

Han-seo stirred as he saw your silhouette, and panicked as one might when seeing a stranger in their home. The man dared not move more than an inch as he choked out, “Please don’t hurt me.”

It struck you that he might think you were sent by his brother, which caused you to panic too. You knew this would be the only time to visit him and do what you had come to do.

You crept forward. “I won’t. Don’t move, Mr. Jang. It’s okay.”

“Who are you? D-don’t come any closer, I h-have a gun in my drawer—”

You halted once again. This would be harder than anticipated. For one, whether he had a gun or not, he was already at peak fear and suspicion. For another— if he did in fact have one, he was a horrible shot and whether he missed you in the dark or not, security would obviously come rushing in.

“I know you’re scared,” you said. “Trust me. I know.”

Han-seo didn’t move, and you took the opportunity to finally approach the side of his bed.

He must’ve not really had a gun, because instead of reaching for his bedside, he jumped out of the other side of his bed and began to run out of the room.

With a sorrowful glance at his twisted blankets, you spoke up again. “Mr. Jang. I know about your brother.”

He froze a foot away from the doorway and there was no mistaking the flash of familiar panic in his eyes. “Who are you?” he whispered again.

Slowly, you made your way in front of him, maintaining eye contact the whole way. Then, you put one arm around his waist and the other hand behind his head. He remained rigid, with a “What— is this? What are you—”

You shushed him. “It’s okay,” you said. “You can trust me. Oh, Jang Han-seo, you’re shaking. It’s okay.”

He didn’t move a muscle.

“It’s not your fault,” you told him. “It’s okay. You’ve been strong.”

Bit by bit, you could feel the tension in him trail away. One hand hesitantly lifted to your back as his breathing became a bit more stalled. He sniffled once.

“You’ll escape this,” you whispered, pressing him closer into your arms, “and you’ll find peace. This isn’t the end.”

You stayed like this for several minutes. You would not let go — you’d stay right here with him for as long as needed. And suddenly, finally, Jang Han-seo’s home was not quiet. He began to sob into your shoulder, with cries of fear and unreleased tension. Anger, too — you could feel the justified anger pouring from his mouth with his breaking voice and from his eyes in large, hot tears. After a bit, he began to whisper, too.

“I’m scared.”

Over and over.

You didn’t loosen your embrace once as his frame shook with each heaving breath. It was just as you’d expected; his response to affection was emotional confusion and suspicion. Hanseo’s trust had been broken so many times. He’d been threatened every day, told he wasn’t capable of great things and wasn’t capable of decent ideas and would never, ever be worthy of anything more than he already received. Manipulated. Dehumanized. He’d been frightened into the shell of a man whose growth and understanding had been stunted by the life he was cursed with.

You still didn’t know how aware he was of the unfairness of the life he’d been given, but you knew that he was angry. Perhaps even he didn’t know why he was angry. But even that anger, he’d been told not to feel. You could hear it in heart-shattering whimpers and you could feel it in the violent tremble of his form.

Was it too late for him to be able to trust anyone? Or, at this point, was he flailing his trust with awareness of its inevitable violation?

“Trust me,” you assured him again despite it all, “you’ll be okay, Mr. Jang.”

You wanted to stay with him. You wanted nothing more than to prevent him from being alone ever again, but you knew you had to return to where you belonged.

You didn’t have to make him promise not to tell anyone about you, because, like most dreams, he’d forget anything that happened. You could only pray that he’d remember the assurance of your efforts, and the strength of facing a step of the mountain he would eventually climb. And perhaps he’d also push through the nightmare that was his life.

note: i don’t usually write fanfiction for k-dramas. but i’ve been thinking about this poor guy so much, wishing that i could just give him a hug and tell him that he’s going to be okay. and then i remembered that i do have the power to do so on some level 🤝

i will probably post a rant of some sort about the artful (and painful) display of both han-seo and han-seok. but i have to finish the series first !! (so pls avoid dropping spoilers to me 😁)

Today was the day.

You couldn’t help but sneak another lovesick glance at him, as he skated his heart out on the rink.

Moments like that reminded you just how you learned to love him so much in the first place. Blissful eyes and smiles so wide your cheeks would hurt. Hanseo was the only person in the world who had such an effect on you.

“ Hey Y/n!” He called out, and skated over to face you. “ Join me!” He grinned, gesturing to the pair of ice skates awaiting for use.

“ I’m good,” You waved off, reflecting his heavenly smile. “ You keep skating.” You said, then adding on, “ You’re amazing at it.”

He blushed. Very profusely.

You knew how much Hanseo loved compliments and wouldn’t hesitate to shower him with them everyday. Even if your relationship was still in the friend zone, you never skipped a day with Hanseo not hearing just how great he was.

Maybe that was why you refused to join him on the rink. You sucked at skating and keeping your balance- even on trivial things. You preferred seeing him from a distance, his feet gliding on the ice as if he had known it for all of his life.

You didn’t know ice all your life, and you were scared to imagine how Hanseo would react if you were to fall so easily. His image of you was far too different from the image you had of yourself, and you didn’t want that to change.

Change, however, comes by when one expects it the least.

“ Come on, now?” You spent too much time in your thoughts, and now Hanseo was out of the rink as well, holding out the pair of skates.

“ Hanseo…” You complained in a playful whine, and he didn’t back down.

You gazed down at the skates, and it seemed too foreign to wear. Too different. But, you looked back up at Hanseo-

Only to see his signature puppy eyes.

He knew you couldn’t resist.

Letting out a sigh, you grabbed the skates and sat down on the bench to tie them on. He cheered cutely as you put them on, clapping his hands gently as his eyes sparkled at you.

Like how the ice sparkled at you, too. Maybe skating wouldn’t be too bad.

As the two of you entered the rink again, Hanseo would just not let go of your hands.

“ I- I need to hold your hands so… um… you won’t fall.” He came up with an excuse, and you bit back that knowing smile.

Minutes passed like this, stuck in a piece of time so beautiful. You looked down at your intertwined hands and your heart began to beat even faster.

Your imagination ran wild, conjuring up romantic scenarios in your head although the suspect of your dreams was right beside you.

“ You look nice.” Hanseo blurted out of nowhere, snapping you out of the depths your imagination.

“ Huh?” You let out, completely off guard.

“ O- on the ice. I meant. Skating… um, suits you.” He scrambled for words, looking at everything around him but your eyes.

You fought back a chuckle, “ Skating suits you too.” You replied, a small blush resting on your cheeks.

“ Mhm…” He nodded wordlessly, as the two of you began to skate in awkward silence.

You abruptly halted, nearly catapulting Hanseo straight into the rink’s perimeter fence. He yelped in surprise, but your locked hands steadily pulled him back to safety.

“ Jang Hanseo,” You started, and he gulped. You almost never used his surname when calling to him. “ What do you think of me?” You asked, leaning in slowly as his face flushed a bright red.

“ You’re… You’re a good friend.” He spoke in a deathly slow pace. “ You’re really nice and understanding. And kind, funny, pretty…” He stopped himself from saying anymore.

“ Pretty..?” You echoed, your heart began to pound as your whole world became Hanseo in that very instant.

“ I meant…” He backtracked himself, only to fall into the quiet again. “ Yeah, I think you’re really pretty.” He admitted, his volume lowering to a mumble.

Maybe it was the ice that froze you into place- your lips sealed as you couldn’t think of anything else to say apart from those three dangerous words.

Seeing your silence, Hanseo mustered up an smile, embarrassingly laughing at his own words. “ I… uh, didn’t mean it that way, you know?”

It was that heartbroken smile which melted you.

“ I like you.” You blurted out, and his eyes widened in shock. The both of you gazed down at your hands, which were still interlocked.

You tightened your hold, glancing away to avoid getting more flustered. “ I know that we’ve been really- really good friends but… I… I want more.” You confessed, looking straight up at him, mustering every drop of courage you had in you.

“ I want more too…” He replied, a soft smile playing on his lips. He skated closer to you, to the point you could feel him breathe down right above your ear.

It tickles… You blushed and let loose of one of your hands to caress his face. His skin was as cold as the ice you stood upon, and you let your thumb glide across his lower lip.

His breathing grew audibly ragged as he flushed a deep red.

“ Y/n… may I kiss you?”

You nodded once, and was brought into an embrace like no other before. You desperately clung onto the perimeter fence, holding it in fear you may fall.

His lips were warmer than you had imagined, contrasting starkly to the chills you felt all around.

You wrapped your arms around his neck as he deepened the kiss, wishing in that very moment that humans didn’t need oxygen to breath.

The two of you parted for air, for lovesick smiles and giggles filled the space between. “ I’m…” Hanseo caught his breath, “ I’m surprised we didn’t slip and fall.” He cracked a light joke, and you laughed.

“ But we have already.” You beamed, and he blushed at your words. “ LIKE THIS!” You exclaimed suddenly, tripping him over as he fell, only for you to lose your balance next.

“ Ow! Y/n!” Hanseo groaned, lying on the ice as he rubbed the back of his head. He groggily opened his eyes again, to see you lying right beside him on the ice.

“ I really need to improve my balance…” You complained, as you massaged your aching wrist.

“ Pft-”

“ Huh? Are you laughing at me?!” You jabbed, sitting upright on the cold ice.

Hanseo fell into a chortle of laughter, wiping the fake tears from his eyes as he tackled you into a hug.

“ God, Y/n… I- I can’t believe we…” His tone grew soft as you could recognize the pure love from his gaze. “ We’re actually-”

You cut him off with a quick peck on the cheek, grinning at how flustered you had made him. “ Let’s save the cute stuff for outside the rink.” You said, standing up slowly so you wouldn’t slip again.

You reached out a hand for him, “ How about a date?”
