"Listening, sensing, something like that." Maybe that's something to ask Sir Pheles about. "You can't be too lenient with demons and sylphs are elementals." As if that explains it all.

"So, are they just always watching out for you then? Or, listening for you I guess, since chanting would be like a call?" Dennis isn't sure what verbiage he's supposed to be using here. He's too focused on just trying to understand Lewin's methods are so he emulate them himself in later summons. "And.. if they were your friends, then why did you kill them?"

"What, you did all three things a good tamer should!"

"You befriended him, you summoned him with a chant, and because he trusts you he ran over. Just do the same thing with familiars."
Dennis might have been kidding when he 'summoned' Rin, but it's actually not far off from what Lewin was trying to teach about befriending demons. Good job, Dennis!

Hinobi. Hmm, wasn't familiar to Lewin so he made a note to look into it later. In the meantime he was listening and fighting against the comfiness of the bean bag chair. With another episode starting, the high squeaked voices of the cartoon became more white noise and it all made him so sleepy.
The kid didn't seem to be an exorcist, but probably someone Sir Pheles were looking to include into his little circle of useful people. Maybe an exorcist in training? There was potential.
There was also potential for falling asleep again.
Eyes glanced towards the offered bowl, then rolled away from Mephisto - effectively pouting now. In the next moment does he carefully take the bowl from Mephisto's hands though, his other hand swiftly reaching in to nab a treat between two fingers, doing his best to avoid having it touch the fabric of his fingerless gloves. "And locay-sh. Just because Hinobi has a method of fast travel doesn't -" a pause, followed by his eyes focusing on the goggles he always wore, specifically the interface overlay. The readings his scans pick up on Lightning have changed somewhat...

A bite of food is done purely to make up for the pause, setting the bowl down beside him. "Where was I? Right, method... It's very time-consuming flying to and from here, and I don't think they appreciate the resources I take to do that." Call him a part of this team as much as you want, but the job still requires a form a secrecy that Mitch does want to take seriously - which means making sure Lightning doesn't know about things such as portals. Some members of the team learned through unique circumstances, or because he does desire to be needed helpful in someway...and because he's sure Rin would strangle him all over again if he tried a 'system reset.' Memory alteration is a necessary part of a job that Mitch gleefully abuses, and Lightning will be no exception. If that puts a damper into Mephisto's grand scheme, well...that's not Mitch's problem. "Either way, I'll be sure to crash his party. If not for a lecture then at least to see him in action. ...He's another teacher here?"

"Yep. All demons," he said cheerfully. Perhaps he should have registered the hesitancy in her question, but he didn't. "Not all are evil, but they're all demons. Everything from Gehenna is, technically. And I don't know," oh the horror of not knowing, "what happens to Nephilims when they die. They might go to Gehenna. They also might not. Don't know what happens to humans when they die either. You might be better off asking Sir Pheles about where Nephilims go."

"They eat babies??" Welp, there goes her last shred of innocence; surprisingly, considering how little there was to begin with. "So...the death demon carries a scythe and has a cloak?"
"What about...fairies? I know they're real, but they're not demons...are they? And hypothetically, if they were, would having faerie blood mean you're going straight to Hell after you die?"
