(sry if this is a little scattered/repetitive btw its a bit difficult to put my thoughts into words properly sometimes)

so i think when it comes to rock muscians in that era (as well as in the 80s and to some extent the 90s) when they wore partial or full nazi costumes it was more for countercultural shock value rather than out of a genuine agreement that ideaology.

I read a quote from Siouxsie Sioux about her history of dressing up in the uniform where she says it was basically just a way to antagonize older generations and cause a stir by being so flippant about something so taboo and i think thats the thought process that a lot of musicians who also did this had.

Most young musicians in the 60s/70s was born during/just after ww2 and had parents who lived through or died because of it, which is the main reason why i think of this sort of thing as closer to rebellious mockery than actual fascist admiration. this isnt an exact parrallel but the way young americans talk about 9/11 is kinda the closest thing i can compare it to.

these photos of brian, jimmy, and keith are examples of what ive been talking about in this post btw and there are definetly other examples of nazi imagery, gestures, and memorablia being used in rock of this era.

and as i said in the tag of the og post this is basically how i feel about the way billy idol used the confederate flag.

in short i think that a rockstar isnt automatically a nazi because they dressed up like one..

I dont see a problem with 60s/70s rockstars wearing nazi uniforms as an act of counterculture

everytime i see a photo of jack bruce playing double bass i start writhing in agony and screaming and crying and throwing up and tearing my hair out and

give me some classic rock freaks to draw
