See also, "We're in a drought; conserve water!" Meanwhile, bottled water companies and golf courses for rich folk empty the aquifers.

the thing about becoming an adult is suddenly they'll allow you to buy the fun toys like a chainsaw but then you have to think about well that's quite a bit of money for a toy and where will i keep it and how often am i really going to use a chainsaw in my day to day life anyways and then you decide you shouldn't actually buy the chainsaw

I went back downstairs today to see if planting my bulbs at night disturbed the earth in a way a casual passerby would notice. I don't think so, most people are notoriously unobservant of already familiar spaces.

But I found a lot more cigaret butts and litter, which I never really noticed before (did I tell you that most people are notoriously unobservant of already familiar spaces?). Somehow, just by planting a few bulbs, and thinking about what I could put here in the spring, I suddenly feel responsible for a bit of land that's not my own. Weird, huh?
