280+ years later….. It was the modern day between 2017 and 2018. Things have changed over the years such as buildings, different types of culture, society, even technology. The day was hot in the summer. a middle aged man named R.L Stine, and his daughter Hannah, went to go crystal hunting. “Come on dad! Let’s go!” Hannah was just too excited to visit the crystal cave. R.L Stine chuckled. “Calm down Hannah. We’re almost there.” as they got to the crystal cave, they began to explore it. The cave was dark, so they turned on their flashlights to see better. The cave was filled with different colored crystals; red, pink, orange, green, purple, and yellow. R.L Stine was taking a few photos of the crystals due to how fascinating they were. “I’m going to head a bit deeper to see if there’s more.” Stine smiled at his daughter with a reply. “Alright. Just be careful Hannah. I don’t want you ending up getting lost like last year.” Hannah rolled her eyes. “Dad, I’m 18. Dont worry. I know my way around here.” Hannah began to explore the cave even deeper. She couldn’t find any other crystals. “There’s got to be a few around here somewhere.” she thought. As she kept on looking, she noticed a bright glow coming from the other side. “An exit?....” she ran towards the glow, and as she got there, the glow wasn’t really an exit. She stopped as she found the source of the glowing. She found a blue crystal so large, it looked like it would belong in a museum. There were more crystals surrounding it, but none of them were blue. It was the only blue crystal standing in all of its glory. “Dad!! Dad!! Look what I found!!” R.L Stine ran to where Hannah was, and he looked at the crystal she was pointing at. “woah!....I’ve never seen such a crystal so beautiful in my entire life!” R.L Stine and Hannah looked at the blue crystal with awe. As the clouds were covering the sun, they noticed something inside the crystal, since it was now much more clearer to see. Something was trapped inside it. “What is that?....” R.L Stine wondered. The two took a closer look, until they noticed a small figure. Hannah was surprised when the figure’s eyes opened glowing the same color as the crystal. “Someone is inside!!” Hannah grabbed a baseball bat from her backpack, and ran towards the crystal. “Hannah Wait! You don’t realize what that thing is!” R.L Stine started to get worried to whatever the figure was. “Only one way to find out!” Hannah began to swing her bat at the crystal trying to break it as hard as she could. After she swung one more hard swing, the crystal began to crack. The crystal’s glow was so bright, it nearly blinded Stine and Hannah. They could hear large cracking sounds, until the crystal broke completely into small little pieces. It was Maria. Hannah ran up to her. “It’s…..a doll?...” R.L Stine walked up to the doll. “Is she….alive?” Hannah checked her pulse. “She is! She’s just unconscious.” Hannah gently picked up the young doll, and she brought her home. After Hannah and Stine got back home from the unexpected experience they had, Hannah gently layed Maria on a couch in Stine’s office. “I hope she’s okay.” Stine nods “and I also hope she’s not evil.” Hannah turned to her father with a cringe look “really dad?....you had to bring that up?” Stine shrugged “I guess I just couldn't stop thinking about…..him….” Hannah sighs and she leaves the office. “Well at least we had some family fun.” Stine nods in agreement. “Im beat….well, we’ll check on her first thing in the morning.” Hannah looked at Maria one more time before heading to bed “I gotta say dad….she’s really pretty…..” she smiles. Stine looks at Maria, then back at Hannah “I must say you’re right. I’ve never seen a doll that beautiful before….I wonder who her creator was…..” Hannah shrugged, and they both went to bed. A few hours later in Stine’s office, Maria gently opened her eyes. “what happened?....Wh-where am I?....” she sat up feeling a little light headed. She looked around the room. “What is this place?....I should look around some more….” she hopped out of the couch, and walked around the house. She looked into the kitchen, the bathroom, the basement, and even the attic. While she looked around some more, she noticed the bookshelf filled with manuscripts. “Oh my…..so many books to choose from….hmmm….perhaps a good bedtime story wouldn't hurt.” but before she was able to reach out for one, she heard footsteps. She hid behind the couch. R.L Stine came into the office. As he looked around, he noticed the couch was empty. He ran to Hannah’s room. “Hannah! Come quick!” “what dad?...” Stine and Hannah ran to the office. “the doll…..she’s gone!” Stine nodded “quick! we have to find her!” they looked up and down the house but no luck. “Great!....I knew there’s something fishy about that doll!....” “dad?....” Hannah tries to get Stine’s attention but he kept interrupting. “we should've left her there frozen in the first place!” “dad!!” “what hannah! What!!” Hannah slowly pointed at Maria to Stine. Maria stood there in complete silence. Hannah slowly walked closer to her. Maria quickly ran and hid behind the large chair. “Dad…..I think she doesn't want to hurt us....” Stine stared in complete shock “yeah….let me handle this….” Stine tries to get close but hannah prevented him to do so. “Dad!....dont do that! You’ll scare her more!!” Stine started to panic “well then get her before she gets away!!” Hannah rolled her eyes and looked at Maria. “They there…..it’s okay…...there’s nothing to be afraid of….you’re safe here….we won’t bite….come on….” Hannah smiled at Maria. Maria then slowly revealed herself and walked slowly towards Hannah and Stine. “H-Hello…..” Stine and Hannah were surprised to hear her talk. Hannah smiled again. “Hi….Im Hannah…” Stine slowly came up to Maria and gently took her hand “hello….Im….R.L Stine…” as Hannah and Stine waited for Maria to introduce herself, she took a deep breath and spoke again. “M-my name is….Maria” both Stine and Hannah smiled at her. Maria smiled at them back. “So….make yourself at home….Hannah can show you around miss Maria.” Stine smiled warmly. “Thank you sir.” as Hannah took Maria to her room, Stine sighs and spoke to himself. “you know, maybe she won’t be so bad afterall.”

The next morning, Maria woke up seeing the bright morning sun glistening upon the whole room. As she sat up, she saw her mother Elizabeth still laying down not moving an inch from the bed. “Mother….wake up….” There was no answer. As she shook her mother to wake up, there was no slight bit of movement from her body, nor sound from her mouth. “Mother! Please wake up!” Maria shook her mother as she started to feel worried. Tears were beginning to form from her eyes. “Mother! Mother! Please wake up!” She tried everything to get Elizabeth to move, but it was no use. Maria gently laid her head on her dead mother’s chest, and began to cry. On the other side, Zira was peeking from the door knob smirking as she watches the young princess sobbing onto Elizabeth’s lifeless body. Zira laid back against the door crossing her arms giggling evilly. “One down….four to go….” A month passed after queen Elizabeth’s death, and everything was quiet without her. Maria was in her Grandfather’s workshop looking at her older sister Mallory who is still not brought to life yet. “I wished you were alive before mother passed away my dear sister….” She talked to her non-living sister for a few minutes until grandfather Lawrence came in. “I see you’re talking to your older sister….” Maria nodded sadly. Benjamin Lawrence felt Maria’s pain in her heart and soul. He knew that the two were very close. “I understand my little moonlight. I miss her as well…..you were special to her.” He then put Maria on his lap. Maria adjusted herself so she won't fall off and cause any damage to her body. the two talked for hours about the memories they had with Elizabeth, and they knew things were about to change in the future due to her absence. The next morning, Maria was swinging on her swing at the largest secret garden of the palace. It was filled with mostly different colored roses since it was Maria’s only favorite type of flower. Animals such as deer, small rabbits, butterflies, ducks, different kinds of birds, and squirrels were roaming around the garden. The garden also had a fountain, and a large cherry blossom tree with the swing that is connected to a branch. Robert came towards Maria while she was still swinging. “Get off my swing!” Maria stopped as she looked up at her repulsive cousin. “Your swing!? I got here first!” Robert pushed Maria hard off the swing causing her to land on her back she got up and stood in front of him. “not any more you little worm!” As Robert got on the swing, he began to mock Maria. “Too bad your mummy isn't even here to save your pitiful life anymore! So sad that she won't be able to see you as the queen of scrapheap!” He laughed evilly as he pointed at her. Maria’s eyes widened in shock, but then turned to anger. She walked angrily at Robert, and slapped him hard across the face leaving a red mark on his left cheek. He stopped laughing after he got slapped, as he slowly turned toward her. “How dare you speak about me and my mother that way!” Robert got up, and the two started a fight. Robert pulled her hair, and Maria used her powers against him causing Robert to fly all the way through the garden, and inside the castle and hit the wall hard. Laura Lawrence ran to see the situation. “Robert has hurt me!” Maria pointed at Robert. Laura gave Robert an angry look, and pulled him by the ear “ow! Grandmother! That hurts!” Robert was yelping in pain as he was being dragged to his room. Zira Watched the whole entire thing happen. “Why that little!....” Zira ran up to Maria and hit her hard causing Maria to get a bloody nose. “Please Madam! I didn’t do anything! I swear!” Zira furiously hit and kicked Maria all over her body again and again. “I should’ve killed you while I had the chance!!!” as Zira was about to give Maria another painful blow, King Gustave, and Benjamin Lawrence ran and held Zira down. Ginger picked Maria up. Maria was in tears and in pain. “Father…..she tried to kill me…” Ginger, Benjamin Lawrence, and King Gustave saw the blood dripping, and horrible bruising all over her body. They were shocked. “Ginger get Maria cleaned up, and give her first aid! We’ll handle this…..monstrosity!” Gustave ordered. Ginger quickly got Maria inside the palace and went to get her cleaned up. “Let me go!! I didn’t mean to hurt the princess!” Zira begged acting innocent towards the two men. Gustave ordered the royal guards. “Guards! bring the children as well! We have business to take care of!” after Zira, Robert, and Violet were brought into the throne room, Gustave had a furious look on his face. “You three have commit the crime of trying to murder my own daughter, and you disobeyed my orders!!” Zira began to scold. “my lord please! I wanted to be queen! If it weren’t for that…..that brat! I would’ve been first in line!! I shall be que-” “SILENCE!!!!” Zira stopped talking back when Gustave yelled with rage. “I trusted you Zira! Including your children! Maria WILL be queen and you have to deal with it, weather you like it or not!! But since you refuse the request and planning on killing my heir to the throne, I hereby decree, you three shall be banished and no longer set foot in the palace ever again!!” ZIra and the children were shocked. “Please! Oh please don’t do this to us!” Zira pleaded over and over begging for one more chance. “leave! NOW!! Or else the consequence will be more severe!” Gustave waited for them to leave. After they left, Zira and her children moved into the old home where the family was before they became royalty. She couldn’t stop thinking about killing Maria. Zira will kill her own niece no matter how many times she’s being stopped. 2 years later, the royal family went to a theater to celebrate Gustave’s 31st birthday. They all sat on the balcony seats where the royalty are only allowed to be seated, while the commoners are only able to sit on the regular seats below. It was a full house. As the play started, the family were sharing fancy binoculars to see what was happening far away since it was kinda hard to see what was going on. There were laughter in some parts, while some involved in drama and intensity. What the audience didn’t know however, the play was going to be short lived…...Zira was standing behind Gustave and his family waiting for the right moment to strike. She took out a pistol and loaded one bullet. She made sure she wasn’t being seen by anyone. She then slowly and quietly snuck behind Gustave, while the audience were roaring with laughter. All of a sudden, the audience stopped laughing when they heard a loud bang. The crowd went silent. It was then Laura Lawrence screamed in horror as she saw blood coming from her own son in law. The whole theater went into a panic. “Father!!” Maria yelled in horror. The whole family rushed Gustave to the doctor. As they got there however, it was too late. Gustave was assassinated by his own sister in law. Zira did manage to flee and got away with the murder. As she got home, she smirked evilly. “two down….three to go….” she chuckled evilly with triumph because she finally had the guts to kill one of her own flesh and blood. A few more years had past after the assassination. Maria sadly stared at the large portrait of her, and her mother and father on the wall. She began to cry as Benjamin Lawrence came to comfort her. “I know my little moonlight…..I missed them as well……” Maria sighed as she dried her tears. “I wished none of this ever happened to them….I wish they were here with me…” Benjamin Lawrence gently held Maria in his arms. He looked outside and the sun was going down, as night was beginning to rise. “Come….it’s getting late. Let’s get you into bed.” while in her room, Maria decided to wear her wedding dress instead of her usual night gown. Benjamin Lawrence came into her room and saw her wearing it. “Darling why are you wearing your wedding dress? It’s not even your wedding day yet.” Maria looked at her grandfather. “I wanted to wear it in honor of my mother and father…..” Benjamin Lawrence sighed and hugged her tightly. “I understand…..you love them just as much as I do. Come….” he takes her to bed, and gently tucked her in. “who’s going to take over the kingdom now?” Maria felt concerned about the kingdom not having a ruler. Benjamin Lawrence gently took off her flower crown from her head and gently puts it next to her. “We’ll think of something soon…..sleep well my little moonlight.” he gently kisses her head, and leaves the room. During the middle of the night, it was very quiet. Maria was fast asleep until she heard loud screaming coming from down stairs. The noise caused her to get out of bed, put her flower crown and shoes on, and investigate the source of the screams. “Grandfather Lawrence?” she looked around but there was no answer. As she got to the throne room however, that was when she noticed red crimson liquid on the floor. She stood there frozen in horror. Her eyes began to water with tears as she saw both her grandparents lied down dead with many stab wounds on their bodies while being covered in a pool of blood. “No! No! No!....” she then noticed a large shadow covering hers. She slowly turned around and it was Zira holding a bloody knife in her hand. She was covered with blood stains on her dress, and she had a deadly look on her face nearly scaring Maria to death. “You’re turn!...” as Zira was about to strike Maria with the knife, Maria couldn’t defend herself since her powers weren’t powerful enough. So she did the obvious option. She ran and jumped out of one of the windows. As she was falling, out of nowhere, her chest glowed, and a bubble surrounded her breaking her fall.   Zira was behind her. Maria was too afraid of Zira, that she wanted to get away from her as far away as possible. The bubble she was trapped in, began to float her somewhere. “Where is it taking me?” Maria had no idea where the bubble was heading to. She turned around, and Zira was floating as well. She had no wings, not even a bubble. She was actually floating on her own. Her eyes were glowing red with pure evil. The bubble managed to float Maria farther away from Zira, and it gently took Maria to a large cave. Maria landed on her two feet after the bubble popped. “Why here?....” Maria thought. She didn’t know why the bubble took her to a cave. Maria noticed it was no ordinary cave. It was a crystal cave. All the crystals were in different shapes and sizes. She then looked up and there was Zira watching from afar. “I have been waiting for so long to do this!! Now that I’ve finally got what I wanted, your path ends here!!!” Zira knocked down a large boulder that was sitting at the edge of the roof of the cave, and it fell causing more boulders to fall along with it. All the boulders trapped Maria blocked her way out, and almost crushing her instantly. Zira ran back to the castle laughing evilly hoping Maria would be dead for good. Maria started to cry feeling hopeless until the sacred moon began to glow brightly above the night sky. Maria then noticed her chest glowing only this time, the glow got brighter almost as bright as the moon itself. It was then Maria was beginning to become frozen. She floated in mid air, and her whole body was glowing bright until the sacred blue moon turned her into a crystal. Completely frozen unable to move, almost like a dead corpse. The only thing Maria knew, was that the crystal would keep her safe and unharmed for a while. But what she didn’t know, was the right time she will be able to reawaken once more….
