hi tumblr-the conservative party is back at it again. 

currently, the GRA (gender recognition act) says to transition “legally”, trans people have to: 

 get two diagnoses of gender dysphoria (including one from an NHS gender clinic, which have a 2-3 year wait time currently), 

prove you have lived as your chosen gender for 2 years, 

swear to live the remainder of your life as such

and  do all of this in front of a “gender recognition panel”, a process which is very humiliating and largely depends on people deciding if you are “trans enough”. 

in 2018, the idea was put on the table to progress the rights of transgender people in the UK. Including: 

 allowing them to self identify as their chosen gender (including 16 & 17 year olds, who have previously been denied the right to)

demedicalising the transition progress, no doctors would need to diagnose gender dysphoria to transition.

removing the cost to have your gender legally recognised

allow non-binary identities to be recognised

it has recently been leaked that the current government has scrapped these ideas [source  source]. Our equality minister, Liz Truss, is horribly transphobic and wishes to backpedal on the few rights we have. 

trans people have said for years that the GRA is outdated and in need of reform, and have had the tiny ray of hope that it may be changed ripped out from under us behind closed doors. 

petitions on the parliament website are legally obligated to be responded to at 10k signatures and have to be debated in parliament at 100k signatures. please note you have to click a confirmation link in your emails before your signature is counted!

Really Big Coin Skrekkøgle

This is our Really Big Coin. It is big because it makes other things look small when photographed next to it. Actually, it is a 20:1 replica of the EUR 50-cent, you see it being milled out here. We needed to do quite a bit of sanding, lacquering and smudging to obtain the desired look and some climbing to get into required shooting position (you need to get up real high to take good pictures). The result is a short series of photographs, attempting to visually scale down real-sized objects.

So what if Aizawa does dumb shit to keep his reflexes sharp and body flexible.

Examples:

1) Doesn't turn on lights at night, so he has to go by memory, limited vision. This means he has to be careful of anything randomly left in his way.

2) He never uses the front door. It's always a window or the balcony. Even on days when he doesn't have his capture gear. He once asked a neighbor if he could use their balcony, just so he could cross over to his. He could have just used his front door, but used theirs instead.

3) He managed to attach a skateboard to the bottom half of a rolling office chair, making a (as Mic calls it) "Danger Office Board".

4) He once went a whole month of playing "the floor is lava" in his apartment. He never once touched the floor... for a whole month. Mic and Midnight tried their best to trip him up. Going as far as to attack him with a mop and broom.

5) He walks backwards up and down the stairs.

6) Secretly participates in roller blade competitions.

7) Uses an exercise ball instead of a step stool.

8) Trains in high heels once a week to improve his balance. He can walk in heels better than Midnight.

9) Took belly dancing classes. Still does it at home.

10) Can dance like a pro because he spent 30 hrs once watching all dance shows and different styles. Refuses to show anyone but uses the quick footwork for fighting.

11) Can practically fold himself in half because he was once dared to try and fit in a box because he was already so cat like, that he might as well do the "if I fits, I sits" thing cats do. He practiced for a month just to be able to fit perfectly in a box without any of himself hanging out. He uses this ability to sleep in random places.

12) He stalks Nedzu as stealth practice. He has startled the principal only once. Aizawa still has nightmares about it.

13) Parcticed his jumping as a teenager by trying to jump onto the refrigerator from a standing position. Fell off many times.

14) Pole dances to work on upper body strength.

15) Crab walks to work on his thighs.
