Share Your Pride day 29: Favorite pride memory
Since I have yet to go to a pride parade I’m gonna go with my favorite coming out memory.
It was this past school year, my show choir went to a showcase in another county and we met a bunch of other choirs. I befriended one guy from another choir and we exchanged numbers (he ghosted me after 2 days I was very sad). Anyway, the next day we were reflecting on the experience during class and I mentioned the guy. One of the other girls in the choir tried to tease me, asking if we were talking or just talking. In response I very bluntly said:
“Liz, I’m a lesbian.”
Everyone busted out laughing, including me, and I have a feeling that moment is going to be a favorite of mine for many years to come.
Liz was a senior btw, I doubt she’ll forget about me any time soon XD

I took U.S. History this past year and finally got to actually cover the Stonewall riots in class. It’s amazing how many civil rights movements starts with police brutality and a few people who are just sick and tired of being pushed around.
