ot7 as love languages? so how they show and how they receive love :)

This is all very off the top of my head and complete speculation, of course, so definitely take my response with a pinch of salt!

For those who don't know, the 'love languages' are five catagories as described below -

Seokjin

Giving - I see Jin as giving love through acts of service, like when he cooks for the rest of the members.

Receiving - He seems to really appreciate one on one time with the other members, so quality time for this one, I reckon. Like fishing with Yoongi, for example.

Yoongi

Giving - definitely acts of service (Yoongi is very good at going subtle kind things for the other members) but maybe also words of affirmation. What's springing to mind is that conversation he and Jimin had in the car in regards to liking this voice.

Receiving - I think Yoongi responds really well to physical touch in terms of receiving love (so. much. handholding). But he seems to like words of affirmation back as well, even if they make him a bit shy.

Hoseok

Giving - hmm... It's got to be physical touch and words of affirmation. He has no problem in touching up the other members and telling them how sexy they look, or just tackling them with hugs.

Receiving - I'll admit, I struggled with this one. Something tells me that Hoseok would appreciate acts of service, like... He's so tidy and helpful as a person, I think he'd really appreciate someone also wanting to chip in and do their part to help.

Namjoon

Giving - Words of affirmation. Without a doubt. I don't even think this needs explaining 😂

Receiving - I think Namjoon would appreciate words of affirmation in return, as well, along with quality time (think Namjoon and Jimin's evening spent together in Malta).

Jimin

Giving - I honestly think Jimin is capable of giving all 5 different love languages, depending on what the other person prefers!

Receiving - I reckon words of affirmation and physical touch go a long way with Jimin. Snuggle up and call him handsome and I imagine he'd be thrilled lol

Taehyung

Giving - Gifts and physical touch. When I think about members buying things for one another it's Tae I think of most, but he's definitely a snuggly one too.

Receiving - I'm pretty convinced Tae appreciates physical touch in return, too.

Jungkook

Giving - Acts of service. He's all more than willing and able to help his hyungs! He also seems to enjoy giving physical touch.

Receiving - Like Jimin, I think Jungkook too would prefer both physical touch and words of affirmation.

Yoongi x Reader

You looked up at the big clock. The red numbers seemed to move at the speed of light now that there were barely twenty minutes left until time was up.

The rest of the contestants seemed relaxed. All of them had experience, some had even worked in the kitchens of the most prestigious chefs in Asia and Europe, and all you had was a diploma. Nobody ever overlooked it, your lack of experience had been mentioned at least twice in the nine episodes leading up to the final and even your kitchen seemed extremely childish, as if it had been taken out of a dollhouse, with its baby blue cabinets and pastel colored utensils.

You moved fast, cutting and pouring ingredients into the pot, checking the dessert in the oven and dressing the meat. While you were doing it you could see your grandmother, sitting behind the cameras. Her short legs barely reached the ground and her round cheeks were stained red from the heat of the stoves.

"My little girl is fierce as a lion" she had told all the neighbors. "You already know her, when something gets into her head, no one can stop her."

"Ten minutes left, chef's"

Your eyes went to the clock once more. Ten minutes. The tension could be felt in the air, the facades of tranquility with which the contestants had hidden themselves began to unravel. Whispers, small blows, grunts, sighs ... every little thing of those gave you peace of mind, no matter how much or who they had worked with, all of them were fighting to get what would be, surely, the greatest opportunity of their careers.

The clock reached zero and you, like the rest of the contestants, raised both arms. Your luck was cast. Your menu proposal was simple, a modernized traditional Korean dish and a chocolate coulant with wild berries, gracefully plated.

The four of you approached the table where the judges would taste each of your dishes. The first was Bae Shin-hye, she was in her mid-thirties and her career was admirable at best. Her dishes had an exotic touch while maintaining the essence of the Korean cuisine. Park Juwon then presented his dishes, emphasizing the great French influence of his food due to his studies in Paris. And was followed shortly after by Lee SeoJoon, his approach was somewhat more risky, moving further away from Korean cuisine and focusing more on the European. Then it was your turn.

"Our youngest contestant" Said the host of the show when you took a step forward. "Explain to us, Y/N, what you have prepared today."

Your eyes wandered between the three judges for a second. You knew them all, even before the program, you had read many articles about each of them and their work. Kim Hayun was sweet and friendly like her food, with it she was able to make you feel at home, almost as if you were eating a meal cooked by your grandmother while playing with tastes and textures. Choi Doyun had a completely different style, he understood cooking as a science, as if the ingredients were pieces of a puzzle that had to be put together. And lastly Min Yoongi. He was the youngest of the three and the one who accumulated the most awards. All the kitchen critics agreed that through his dishes Min Yoongi was able to tell a story, his cooking was much more than food, it was an experience.

Your eyes met the young man's dark eyes, before you began to speak.

"My plate is a little more traditional than that of my peers" you started. "Even so, I wanted to give it a different touch, modernize it a bit, keeping its essence"

Words kept coming out of your mouth, explaining why you decided to cook that, why its placement in a certain way, etc. until the judges taste it. Your mouth snapped shut and your eyes flicked between their faces, trying to decipher their expressions. Hayun grinned widely after taking a bite and Doyun nodded repeatedly. Your face and your whole body relaxed, being that the first time you got rid of your Poker face that day. But your gesture trembled when you looked at Chef Min. His face was impassive, almost as if he was bored. He made no approving movement, Yoongi just put his chopsticks on the table and stood up again.

The host of the program announced a break for the publicity, as the three judges left to exchange views and decide the winner. You looked back at your grandmother who raised both thumbs with a huge smile on her face. She was sure from the moment you were accepted into the show, you were going to win. You had been through too much, Grandma had said, God could only put something good in your way now. If you believed, her words would have been comforting.

You looked at the judges, away from everyone deciding the future of all of you. They talked quietly, almost as if they were talking about something as tribal as the weather, while the rest moved fast or waited, as you four did.

"And we are back" announced the host. "We have spent the last nine weeks watching our chefs fight for their place on this show. Each one of them with different dishes that represented a challenge to them. Today our judges, Min Yoongi, Kim Hayun and Choi Doyun, will decide which one of them will win the prize and a place as a chef in our judge Min Yoongi's three-star Michelin restaurant, Sensations".

Everything seemed to move very fast from that moment, when you realized it only you and Park Juwon were left in front of the judges. That was the moment, they were going to announce the winner and the other would be in second place, without a prize and without the greatest job opportunity you could dream of.

"You have all given your best every week, you have shown your ability not only to us but to the whole country. Not winning does not mean that the world ends, many doors will open for you from now on. Choose wisely" Yoongi started, addressing to all the contestants.

You looked down, unconvinced by his words. What opportunity could be presented in front of you that would be better than a fortune as a prize and a job in one of the best restaurants in South Korea?

"So ... we have seen your improvement every week, you have worked hard" Hayun started to speak, drawing your attention.

"Yes, you have done a great job" continued Doyun "Unfortunately there can only be one winner. The decision has been difficult, you both deserve first place for your work, perseverance and talent."

"The winner is..."

You turned to Juwon before Yoongi could announce the winner. He had addressed everyone when he had spoken, yet his words had seemed like an explanation. You were sure who was going to be the winner.

"Park Juwon".

You bowed to everyone, thanking them for their work and receiving congratulations on your second place on the show, before heading to your grandmother with a bouquet of flowers in your hands.

"I haven't won but..." you said, handing her the flowers. "Second place isn't bad at all, right? It's still the Top 3".

"You have done well, darling." She said, patting your hand before picking up the bouquet. "For me you are the number one."

"Well of course, what else could you say? I have inherited and learned everything from you."

"You definitely didn't get it from your mother."

"You never taught her, maybe she was a genius"

"Maybe. Unfortunately we will never know."

You smiled sadly and held out her walker. "Let's go home, Grandma"

The woman put the flowers on the seat on her walker and stood up with your help. It felt bittersweet, as if you had cooked a good dish that was missing something to be complete.

You heard someone yell your name, just as you and your grandmother started walking. You recognized the voice instantly. His appearance was completely different from just a few minutes ago. He had pulled his shirt out of his pants and ran his hands through his hair, ruffling it.

"Yes, Chef?"

"I will open a door for you"

"Excuse me?"

"I want you in my kitchen"

And just like that, the missing ingredient was presented to you, completing the dish that you had been cooking for so long.

2 years later…

Namjoon entered the next room. This was filled with works of his favorite abstract painter. The blue, withe and brown colors gave him a gratifying sense of peace.

It was the first week after the world tour that he had done with the other members. He had loved every second, but it felt good to be back home. And it was even better when he could have a little free time and visit different places without having to worry about his busy schedule.

He found a painting in the corner of the room especially interesting. The colors of this one, unlike the others, were bright. Red, orange, yellow... it looked like a sea of leaves on a windy day. In wonder, he stared at it for a long time. So much so that he only heard the steps and the voice of a woman when a group of people entered the room.

"... with his work he wanted to materialize his deep depression and relate it to the seasons of the year. For this reason we can see many of them in blue and ..."

Namjoon turned abruptly when he recognized the voice. Two years had passed and still he could remember that girl. Her appearance was exotic, she didn’t look white but didn’t look Asian either. Her hair was much shorter than the last time he had seen her and it had been dyed a silver color that gave her a modern yet elegant touch. Despite being far away, Namjoon could see her big round hazel eyes and full lips, half covered by the head mic.

The group of North European women and men listened attentively throughout the explanation before beginning to pace the room. Namjoon wondered if he should approach her, the last time he had seen her she had shot out of the restaurant loaded with garbage bags, trying to avoid him. The sexual tension had been there, of that he was sure. They had shared some of the best sex of his life despite having been fast and in the bathroom of a restaurant. In addition, he had been completely captivated by her way of speaking. She spoke to the members so confidently, so full of knowledge, that Namjoon couldn't help but feel a connection to her.

"Fuck it," he told himself.

With his hands in the pockets of his overolls Namjoon walked over to her.

Nabi felt someone behind her and turned before that person could say anything.

"Yes sir?" She said seconds before her eyes met the young man's.

"Hello" said Namjoon.

The girl's eyes widened in complete surprise. Namjoon realized that he had held his breath, if she hadn't remembered him he would have felt like an idiot.

"Hello"

"Do you work here now?" He asked, trying to start a conversation.

Nabi looked at him for a long time. She couldn't believe it. It had been a long time and what they had shared had been fleeting, but she remembered it very well. In fact trying to forget it would have been stupid, since she had moved to Seoul, a year and a half ago, there was not a day that the faces of the BTS boys did not appear on some poster or screen on her way to the museum.

"Ah, yes" Nabi replied with a slight shake of her head. "Painting has always fascinated me more than playing to guess the famous person by their nose" she joked referring to one of the games they had played in the show where they met.

"I don't blame you, I think the same myself"

The girl smiled and Namjoon smiled back at her. It felt good to be able to talk to her. He had thought of Nabi more times than he wanted to admit, the boys had even joked about his supposed crush on her every time he lost himself in thought for a long time.

Namjoon was not someone who believed in fate, however, the fact that they had met again made him think that it had some meaning.

"Fuck it" he thought again.

"Nabi, I ..."

An older woman interrupted him, patting the girl on the back.

"Excuse me Miss, where is the toilet?”

"Oh, from here it's a bit tricky" Nabi said. "I show you the way".

Namjoon pursed his lips and tipped his head back. Both women walked away, after Nabi asked him to wait a moment. Frustrated, he stayed where he was, rocking back and forth until he saw her enter again.

“Hopefully she’ll be able to fine the way back” Nabi commented, pinning her hair behind her ear. "What were you saying?"

Namjoon shook his head trying to find the right words. "Would you like to go have a coffee?"

"That would be nice"

"Today?"

"Not on Mondays or Wednesdays" she denied making a face. "I can give you my number, any other day I would be happy to go"

Namjoon pulled his phone out of the back pocket of his overalls and offered it to the girl who quickly typed in her phone number.

"Tomorrow?" He tried again, hoping he didn't sound desperate.

Nabi looked surprised for a moment, but replied "Tomorrow sounds good."

"Then I'll come get you, if it sounds good"

"I'll see you tomorrow at six, then" Nabi said smiling. "I usually use the back exit, it's probably more convenient for you. The main street gets crowded during the sharp hours" she continued, taking a few steps back. "We should get going now".

"Okay. See you tomorrow."

"Red is just not my color" You said as Kijung reached down to paint the nails on your left foot.

"Shut up! It is, you're just used to your good girl white polish" She replied.

You looked at your right foot. It looked like a baby foot, all plump and tiny. Across the room, Olivia was chewing gum outrageously, flipping through an old gossip magazine. Kijung's mother had dumped it that afternoon, while she was waiting for her daughter to finish washing Ms. Keller's hair. You and Olivia had arrived early, as Kijung had requested, so that she could escape from helping her mother in the hair salon that they had in the garage. For some reason, Olivia had always been obsessed with European monarchies and could not help but remove it from the bin when she saw the princess of some country photographed with a mysterious man.  

"Red looks good on you" Olivia said without looking up. "Besides, it’s sexy. You should wear red lips too. And the black dress I bought last week. You'll have all the guys drooling over you".

"You should stop trying to play dolls with me, honestly" You told both of them. "Skinny jeans and a crop top, it’s as wild as it’s going to get”

"The girl next door look was fine when we went to high school" Kijung began, pointing at you with the brush. "But now we are going to college, we are adults. You should step up your game, wear sexy clothes, hang out with guys, fuck them ... just enjoy life".

"Yep" Olivia agreed. "You definitely should step up your game, dude!"

You rolled your eyes. It was not the first time you had that conversation; at that point it was already something regular. It felt like every time you got ready to go to a party the three of you followed a bad script.

"What is it that you have to step up?"

The three of you turned your head toward the living room door. Jungkook, Kijung's older brother, leaned against the door frame carelessly and took a sip of his water.

"Geez, Jungkook!" Kijung complained "You scared the shit out of me"

"We were telling our lady in red that she should step up her game" Olivia rushed to answer. "Otherwise there will be no way for her to find a boyfriend"

“Boyfriend?”

"When have we talked about boyfriends?"

Jungkook and you spoke at the same time. His eyes met yours. He had raised eyebrows and a shocked expression, as if the possibility that you could have a partner was ridiculous. You looked down, grateful that your hair covered your ears.

You knew the Jeon family since the day you were born. It was actually one of those stories that both families explained each time they got together. Your mother and Kijung's mother gave birth to you on the same day, barely five minutes apart, and they had shared a room during their stay in the hospital. They hit it off so well that they became great friends, making you and the Jeon siblings grow up together, almost like family. Almost, almost because you had developed a crush on Jungkook in your childhood, which had continued into your adolescence and, despite having spent two years apart, apparently it would also remain during your young adult years.

Olivia started talking to Jungkook, something about bowling, but you were too busy trying to look in any direction other than towards him to listen. And you weren't in the mood to listen to your friend trying to flirt with him, not when for you that was off limits.

"Stop doing that" you said to Olivia, when Jungkook had left.

"Do what?" She asked going back to her magazine.

"Talk about me like I'm not there"

"You're so dramatic," Olivia whispered.

"No, I'm not. I just don't like you talking about my love life, that's all."

"It's just Jungkook. It's not that big of a deal" Kijung tried to fix it.

"What love life?" Olivia snapped.

“Yeah… What love life?” You muttered blankly.

Sometimes you wished that Olivia, despite how much you loved her, would choke on her own venom.
