as someone with an advanced degree in education/child development, I am removing the phrase "gentle parenting" from the lexicon and presenting these options as substitutes:

i go insane every time i see a parent patiently talking things out with their kid and people on social media say "lol gentle parenting." No. That's authoritative parenting and you are conflicting it with permissive parenting. One is productive and one is harmful.
