HELLO HELLO THE OMORI MANGA IS OUT I AM NOT IN ANY WAY SANE AHHHHHHHHHHHH

Anyway have some thoughts I suppose!

First of all, it is scarily fast paced. We have several hours of gameplay summarised in one manga chapter.(which, to be fair, is pretty long yay)

I am also kind of upset that the impact of sunny’s choice to open the door for Kel just—isn’t there. With the pacing of the chapter, we barely register that he’s a hikkikomori, it hasn’t sunk in yet, then oh look, Sunny opened the door for Kel! Sunny’s choice to open the door, to go outside and greet his friend for the first time in years, is simply another panel in hundreds, before we’re dragged into Basil! Aubrey! More Drama!

Second of all, I think it’s quite interesting that they chose to reveal the Violin and HellMari so early in, as it was intended to be the “big twist” at the end of the video game. Not sure why they did this, and it’s…kind of disappointing, given the importance of suspense and foreshadowing in the original game.

I suppose much of what I’m complaining about is simply the pacing.

However, it is only the first chapter, and we can’t tell for sure that it’s going to be a disaster. We don’t know for sure, and I plan on continuing the Manga until we do.

Even if it ends up being mid, we have illustrated character interactions to look forward to <3
