Chapter 4- Apologies🐆

Summary-

Jin runs a hybrid safe house to help those adjust into normal life again, coming from difficult backgrounds and to learn to live among humans again.

Jin has a sister who helps him out when needed. But he is a very protective over her, will he let her or himself be close to the hybrids.

What happens when 6 hybrids from completely different backgrounds end up in his care?

Will there be heart break?

Will there be fights?

Can everyone get along in the end?

Jin POV-

It was agony to see my sister in so much pain again, I never thought she would go though something like this again.

When I arrived back I almost went feral seeing the way my sister was. How could they do that to her, Poppy has done nothing to them!

Nothing!

I was holding her hand with my head laying on the bed. My ears flickered to each passing sound, I was in a high state of protectiveness. I was growling at the doctors and nurses that went close to my sister or when she whimpered, I did give them an apologetic smile as I couldn't help it.

The doctors understood this.

When we arrived they took her away to surgery, as the claw marks went deep and she need a blood transfusion.

All these things bring back those horrible memories from that night.

She was now out of surgery and with me in the present. As my head was on the bed, I felt her hand twitch in my hand. Immediately I shot my head up to her "Baby? Poppy? Can you hear me?" I asked her I could see her start to move, I hit the button to call the doctor in. He came minutes later, he was doing his checks, she started to wake up "Miss Kim can you hear me?" He asked her, her eyes where slowly opening. "O-oppa..." she rasped out "I'm here baby, oppa's here." I said as I was stroking her head "Miss Kim, could you look at this light please." The doctor says, she was following the light, but I could see her pupils are slightly dilated due to medication. "Doctor h-how is she?" I ask my throat dry form crying for her.

He explained she will be sore around her neck area and that her throat will be a bit raspy and rough for a couple of weeks, the scratches where near her vocal cord. The doctor also said it was a close call for her, another 5cm over and she would have died.

The doctor gave me the all clear to take her home, he gave me her medication and told me to come with her in a couple weeks to see how it's healing.

If it was a small cut I would have lick the wound to heal it, as hybrid salvia has healing properties.

Poppy was very sleepy on the way back, to be honest I didn't want her to go in the house with those hybrids. "Oppa please don't be mad at them." She whispered, I couldn't reply to her I was very angry.

As we arrived I got her out of the SUV very carefully, I didn't want them any where near her. "Jin I want to sit in the living room... stayed in bed for too long." I was getting worried as she was getting breathless "Okay baby, we can go there."

I really didn't want her there with them, but I could see her point, she had been in bed for to long.

I pulled up to the house I looked over to my right and Poppy was completely knock out with sleep. My instincts were screaming at me not to put her in the lounge and just take her to my room, with my den so she could heal.

As I entered the house I could smell the tension in the air, so I decide to take her to the second living room where the air was neutral.

I don't need to go through the other lounge to get to this other room, they would already know I am here by my scent.

Poppy didn't even stir when I place her on the couch, I didn't want to leave her. But I needed to take a shower to get rid of this hospital smell, I will help my sister later, but right now she needed rest.

I looked back at Poppy, she was asleep on the couch. So I took this as an opportunity to take a shower, get this hospital scent off me and go back to her.

As I got out the shower I dressed myself in some comfy clothes, mainly joggers and a T-shirt.

I made my way down the stairs, I need to talk to them, even though my instincts were telling my not to. But I needed to know why he did it...

I walk into the lounge area to find them all sitting on the couch, as soon as I entered the lounge they were all bearing there necks towards me as I entered. I can't say I wasn't shocked, as they could probably sense my Alpha side was fronting at the moment.

"Why?" I ask looking straight at the leopard, my tail was angrily swishing behind me. He didn't answer me straight away which just made me more angry. I never raise my voice but I did in this instance "WHY! WHY DO YOU HURT HER! SHE'S DONE NOTHING WORNG TO YOU!" I couldn't help myself I needed answers.

Still no answer so I made a decision "If this is how you will react around a humans, you will be classed as feral..." I didn't want to scare them, but they probably would be better off around hybrids, just hybrids. "I will arrange for someone to come and collect you, to take you to a different safe house." I went to turn around to go and see Poppy when someone spoke out "But-but your our mate!"

I know they are my mates, I knew it when they first walked through the door... but my sister comes first... always.

"I know... but my sister comes first... always."

That's the last thing I said to them as I walked out towards Poppy.

Hoseok POV-

Jin was pissed when he came back from the hospital, what Jimin did was not right, he shouldn't have done that. He ask him "Why?" in a quiet voice, then he roared at Jimin when he didn't answer "WHY! WHY DO YOU HURT HER! SHE DONE NOTHING WORNG TO YOU!" I've never seen Jimin so scared in my life, I didn't want to get on Jin's bad side ever.

I could see Jin lost in his mind and what he said next just put me and then others in fear "If this is how you will react around a humans, you will be classed as feral..." we knew the risks but that's not what else shocked us was "I will arrange for someone to come and collect you, to take you to a different safe house."

No!

He couldn't do that we are all mates our final mate! "But-but your our mate!" I shouted at Jin, he shoulders sagged "I know... but my sister comes first... always."

He then just walked away, I could smell the change in everyone's scent, I didn't want to leave but... but my brothers come first.

I looked over to Jimin, he was crying silently. He knew what he done wrong, he knew he'd fucked up.

I know he had a hard time with humans, but she's just a child and to think she had already been through an attack by a hybrid was shocking.

In the moment something started to change in me, like I wanted to extend that hand to become friends with the girl Poppy. Taehyung has already started talking and slowly getting to know her, maybe I should as well.

After a while in silence and the only sound was ticking clock that was passing the minutes away. "Tae where you are you going?" I asked him as no one else was going to. "To see the girl... who has a name. And her name is Poppy." After that he left, so I decide to follow him.

I was still on Taehyung trail but I think we were getting lost "Hyung I know your there, why are you even following me?" He turned to look at me his ears twitched and tail swished behind him. "I want...want to try and make friends with that..."

"Her name is Poppy."

"Right Poppy, I want to try and make friends with her. I did say hi when we first came but after Namjoons warning growl I backed off." As we talked in the hallway, Jin appeared. We just froze as we didn't know what to do or say "Poppy..." Tae said quietly to Jin, Jin just sighed "She's... very sleepy at the moment..." There was a few beats of silence before he spoke again "Do... would you like to see her?" He asked us, Taehyung didn't say anything he just nodded his head and so did I.

Jin took us to the second lounge area as he called it. There she was laying on the couch asleep, but I will say when I walked into the room I could smell the hospital scent, it wasn't nice it reminded me of certain things.

"Sorry for the smell but she needs her rest at the moment, your welcome to stay... but just don't do anything... please." Jin sounded so broken and sad when he pleaded with us. "We won't... could... would it.." I couldn't think of the words to say, I wanted to shift to help her, help Poppy heal. But didn't want to overstep the boundaries "Can I shift to comfort Poppy?" Tae asked Jin, I could see Jin really think about this and then Jin just nodded at him. Tae went to the corner of the room to strip his clothes, his muscles rippled and skin turn to fur and he was in his tiger form.

Tae didn't go a sit on Poppy, he laid in the floor near her, I just sat down near Taehyung, I thought it would be a bit too much for Poppy if she woke up, to see another hybrid shifted. "I'm sorry Jin.. for Jimin behaviour..." I felt like I had to apologise on his behalf, it wasn't right what he did. She didn't do anything to him, Taehyung just said he was crying for her not because of her.

"You don't need to apologise on his behalf.. he just wanted to protect his pack mate. I would probably do the same if I was in his position." At least he is understanding "Why didn't guys say I was your mate from the beginning?" I had think about this question for a moment "I guess we were seeing if we could trust." He looked confused "Trust?" I nodded "Yeah it's just..." I looked over to Poppy. "It's just because she's human and your her pet hybrid." His face changed into something I couldn't read "I'm not her pet hybrid. I keep saying she is my sister, my real sister... we are..." I could see he was hesitant "Biological related." I was shocked he hear that, Tae looked at me, then towards Jin and then towards Poppy. "It's true, like you not many people believe me." He said lowly.

The conversation died down naturally, Jin's ear twitched like he was listen to something. He looked over to Poppy, I turned to see her starting to move, Jin immediately went to her, Tae got up and sat on his hind quarters watching. "Baby, you awake?" He asked softly, I could see she slowly open her eye. She didn't say anything, she looked at Jin, then she looked at me I could see her pupils dilated into fear, then she looked over to Taehyung and her pupils slowly moved back to normal.

Her eyes moved back to Jin all she muttered out one word "Bath..." it was barely above a whisper. "Okay baby I will give you a bath." Jin picked his sister up bridal style and carried her to the bathroom.

Taehyung followed Jin to bathroom but he told him to wait outside the door, so he came and sat by me and waited. His ears twitched to every sound he herd. But soon enough, after a while Jin came back out with his sister, instead of putting her back on the couch, he put her in an armchair that was in the room. "Snowy just stay in this one, while I clean the couch for you, hmm." He nuzzled on her neck on the side without bandages, he was scenting her.

Why did I feel I wanted to do the same?

Jungkook POV-

It felt weird without Hoseok and Tae, my foot was bouncing up and down nervously. I was also thinking about the girl Poppy, she is sweet and her scent smells really nice. It was getting hard for me not to trust this girl, there's was nothing to suggest that she had a second persona.

I made my decision I was going to try and be friends with her, if Tae can do it, then so can I.

I follow the scents of my two pack mates, I could smell fear and pain coming from someone else, it was probably coming form the girl Poppy.

The door to the second lounge was propped open, my nose twitch with the scents. I poke my head through the door, Tae was next to Poppy and Hobi was near her as well. Taehyung spotted me at the door and gave me a chuff, I took that as an okay I could come in. I couldn't see Jin-Hyung anywhere, but I could smell the anaesthetic smell. It was coming from the couch "Jungkook what are you doing here?" Hobi asked me "I wanted to see Poppy..." I really did "Is... is she okay?" Hobi looked at Poppy who look like she was in pain, she was awake but she looked very sleepy "I don't really know how she is, she looks in... pain.." the girl groan when she moved to get comfortable, Tae was up immediately, he nudge at her side.

Jin came out of nowhere and this scared me, he raced over to Poppy immediately, he had some cleaning supplies with him, but he placed them hastily down on the floor.

He was looking over her making sure she was okay "Where does it hurt snowy?" She didn't speak, but she pointed at her throat. "Okay sweetheart, I'm just going to get some medicine for you, okay? I'll be right back." He went away to get he medicine "Hobi-Hyung what are you doing?" He picked up the cleaning supplies, he doesn't have to do that "I want to, the couch needs cleaning. I can't stand the smell and neither can Poppy. She to weak to be moved upstairs at the moment Koo." He sprayed the couch down, I couldn't smell any chemicals, must be a neutral cleaning product. "Here baby take this." Geez I didn't even hear Jin approach, usually Yoongi is good at stealth but this is another level.

After Jin gave Poppy the medicine, she seemed to settle. She was looking at me, Jin seemed to notice who she was looking at. "Oh Jungkook is it? I didn't realise you were here." I just nodded "How..how is Poppy?" He gave me a small smile "She's quite sore and in a lot of pain. It's going to take some time for her to recover." Jin looked at his sister when he was speaking about her, his hand was rubbing her cheek.

She was looking at Tae and I notice she gave a small smile to him, which he just edge closer to her, but he looked at Jin first, then nodded his head to the other couch. Jin seemed to know what he meant "The couch needs cleaning first." He was about to get the spray but Hobi reached out as well and put his hand on the spray bottle on top of Jin's hand "I've done it... I hope that was okay?" Hobi immediately lifted his hand away like to hand been stung, he's cheeks went red.

"Thank you." Jin said to Hoseok as he lifted Poppy up bridal style, she groan when he moved her "I know sorry baby." As he nosed at her head, he walked a couple of steps and placed her softly on the couch.

As she was placed on the couch Taehyung went up to her and gentle nudged her hand "Hi..." Poppy rasped out, Tae let out a sad rumble, he nudge her hand again "He wants you to stroke him." I said softly towards her, I could see the fear in her eyes. That really pissed me off, what Jimin had done was wrong, he does get ahead of things at time.

My trust for the girl was slowly starting to build, there is nothing bad about her. I think the others should give her a chance.

I looked over at Jin and he looked exhausted "Hyung why don't you go and rest?" I said, he needed his sleep. "No, I'm fine. Poppy might need me." He said but then a small voice spoke "Jinnie... sleep you need...it." Tae gave Poppy a gentle rumble "She's right Hyung, go and rest. I know you lost your trust in us... but we can watch her. Taehyung will keep us in check, right?" Hobi Hyung said, Taehyung gave a chuff out in response. "Okay find, but if she needs anything just come to my room, its the last door on the right." He said and went away.

He really did look tired.

"Are you a... dog hybrid?" The girl asked me after a while, I jumped out my sink and my ears pinned back "Sorry" she whispered "No don't be sorry. Erm yeah I'm a dog hybrid, Doberman." She nodded her head at that "My name is Jungkook."

"Hi Jungkook... my name is.."

"Poppy I know, you said and your brother did." She let out a small oh "sorry just the last days are a....blur." I can't imagine how she is feeling.

"Hi my Hoseok, but you can call me Hobi or Hope." Hobi said with his signature sunshine smile. Poppy was stroking Tae on the head and under the chin "You know Tae. He seems to be loving them pets of yours." Hobi said with a giggle.

Taehyung was purring so loudly but then he suddenly stopped and went stiff, Poppy notice this and removed her hand from Tae immediately. Hobi's ears went flat on his head and my ears went back.

We all looked to the door to see Jimin standing there.

"I just want to... apologise..."

Chapter 3- New Environment

Poppy POV-

It was a rough night for me, I couldn't sleep I was tossing and turning all night. Nightmares kept coming every time I closed my eyes, they wouldn't stop. On nights like that I end up sleeping downstairs on the couch, I don't know why but after some warm milk I end up falling asleep on the couch, maybe I should ask Jin to move my bedroom downstairs or if I could move into his room?

I know he wakes up early, he usually starts breakfast when he can hear me get up. But as we had the new arrivals and I think he's going to wait a bit for them, to see if they would join us.

I have no idea what time it was, as I was really comfortable and didn't want to get up yet.

I felt someone kiss the top of my head "Baby are you going to wake up, it's past 10." Oh I must have been tired "But oppa, I'm to comfy." I whined moving to get comfortable again "I know you are baby, but remember we have guests at the moment. I want you to do something for me, hmm?" He said while stroking my hair. My eyes where open but barely "What do you want me to do oppa?" I said with a yawn "I want you to go and try to get them to eat down here. If they don't then I will just bring the food up to them." I nodded and slowly getting up from the couch. "Did you have another nightmare snowy?" Jin looked at me worriedly, I didn't say anything but he could see it in my eyes. He nodded and smiled "I'll start on breakfast." He kissed my head again and left for the kitchen.

It took me about 10 minutes to properly get myself up and go up the stairs towards there room. I was very nervous walking up to the door, I don't want to disturb them if they were asleep. Before I could knock on the door, it open. I jumped back in surprise it was the black wolf, I didn't dare look him in the eye "My brother said he's making breakfast if you would like some..." I slowly looked up at him it did scare me as I'm guessing his wolf side was fronting more "Y-you can either eat downstairs or up here..." Then I just bolted back downstairs, I didn't want to stay any longer then I should.

I come to the kitchen were Jin was cooking "Did you need me to help oppa?" Jin let's me help him sometimes "No I fine, did you tell them?" I nodded "I did but I don't think they will come down to eat. I think they hate me." Some humans can be very cruel. "I don't hate you." Me and Jin scream at the new voice, Jinnie immediately came to my side "Don't scare us like that, at least cough or something." My brother said, the hybrid look apologetically at us, he looked like a nice person.

I notice he had the black and orange stripes on his ears "Your the tiger right?" Jin asked and he nodded "My name is Taehyung." He said and bowed at us, so that's his name. "Well Taehyung, will you join me for breakfast?" Jin asked, I knew what he was doing. "Are you having breakfast?" I nodded at him as I came over all dizzy. "Woah there baby, go and sit down I'll get your meds. Taehyung could you guide Poppy to the dinning room?" Taehyung nodded at Jin and he approached me and gently grabbed my elbow to guide me, it was very sweet of him to do this.

He sat me down on the table, he was stilling holding onto me. "Y-you can let go if you want?" I asked him shyly, he did let go but he kept close to me. "Baby here, take this." Jin handed me my meds that I have to take each day, it was torture trust me, he placed a glass of water down on the table. He always make sure I take, it's not like I would just pretend I have to take them to keep me safe.

The others eventually came down to the dinning room, I moved away from the tiger Taehyung as I know his friends are all protective of each other. When I did move away I notice he was sad about this, maybe I will try and be friends with him.

"Help yourself to anything you want, these plenty available." Jin said with a smile towards them, when we have hybrids at the safe house Jinnie always keeps me near him, which is what he is doing right now. His tail was wrapped around my waist and his body was leaning into me, he is so protective of me.

They were all digging into their foods, when the doorbell went. They immediately stopped eating, the two wolves went stiff and ears were pinned backwards. "I'll get it." I said as I went up from the table, I didn't mean to make eye contact with them briefly and I could see a little bit of protectiveness and worry but it was well masked.

After I answered the door I can back with the parcel, I think it was a food parcel "Oppa, it's for you." I said as I gave it to him "Ahh-ha that must be the new cooking utensils I order." Jin leaves the table to go and put the package in the kitchen.

I was left alone with the hybrids, it was a little uncomfortable as one leopard was starting at me like he wanted to rip me apart.

I hardly made a dent in my food, my appetite long gone.

I left the table with out a word and went to get ready for the day.

Jungkook POV-

Breakfast was really nice, it was the best meal I have ever had. I was sat in between Namjoon and Hobi, Namjoon is protective over me at times but I don't mind.

The girl who I now know as Poppy didn't eat her breakfast, she seems nice but this could be an act. Most humans act nice and put this persona on and then there true colours come out, but I don't think she is like that her brother is a hybrid. Well he said that was his sister, there not going to be related it was impossible.

But something inside of me wanted to get to know her, her scent was really nice.

Jimin's the one who has a problem with her, he really looks like to could attack her at anytime. I don't blame him as he was treated really badly by humans. I was more of a show pet and fighter.

The snow leopard Jin came back after a while, he looked worried but he soon masked it. "Right I suppose I should give you a tour and tell you some rules that we have in place." When we arrived this house was huge, I could easily got lost here, maybe Poppy was going to come on the tour with us.

Wait I didn't I want her to come, she's human!

"How are you feeling Koo?" Hobi asked me, he knows I hate new environments "I'm okay Hyung, just... a bit wary." He hums in agreement with me "But the snow leopard seems nice." I said "Yeah he does." I could see Hobi look up towards the stairs where the girl disappeared to. "Jin..." I wanted to know if she would be coming in a tour with us, it wasn't for me as such but Jimin really hated her "Yes?" He responds as he turns my way "Will the girl be joining us on the tour?" I could see his eye flare with protectiveness "No she... she going to stay away."

"But why?" Taehyung asked, I could tell he was getting attached to her, he had the best life out of all of us. "She lives here and knows her way around... she's always like this when hybrids came to the safe house." And he left it at that, but I think he was hiding something else, my tail twitched in an annoyance. I look over at Namjoon and Yoongi, I could see they think the same as me. We are going to find out what.

This place was huge, I knew it was big but didn't really know how big. There was even a gym here, which I definitely will be using.

But when the tour was going on there was one room we weren't allowed into, it was locked. When Namjoon asked why, Jin wouldn't tell us he simply diverted the answer. That made me more curious about it.

Jin offered us a bedroom, but we opted to stay together in the same room for a while.

"Tae what's wrong?" I asked as he had been restless all day.

We were back in the room after our tour "I'm not restless, just... okay I am restless." I knew it so I went to his neck and started to scent him, it usually works and it only made him relax a bit. "Are you worried for that Human Tae?" Hobi said, there was no vein in his words or when his said 'human'. I could see Jimin ears twitch listening in to our conversation. "Tae we won't mine if you want to talk to the human, she seems... nice." As Hobi spoke we heard a scoff come from Jimin. Nobody said anything else as they didn't want to upset Jimin or anyone else.

I guess Taehyung couldn't stay in the room any longer and he left the room, I guess he just wanted to explore. I couldn't stay in this room any more either, we weren't in a prison anymore, we are free. I decided to take advantage of the gym that they had here.

I had a lot on my mine that I needed to burn off.

Taehyung POV-

I couldn't stay in the room any longer. Nobody want to be around Poppy, but I did. She was nice and there was nothing to say she wasn't, her scent never changed and to be fair I would say she is more scared of all of us than anything.

"Hi" I said as I enter the living room, she jumped a mile when I spoke "hello, d-do you need something?"

"No I don't, sorry I didn't mean to scare you..... could I join you?" She nodded her head she turned back to her book she was reading, I think Joonie would like her. He likes to read books, I can see it in the future them reading books together.

The silences was okay, but I wanted to get to know her, but she spoke first "How-how is your wound?" I look at my hand and palm were the big cut would be on my paw "Its fine, it's not hurting." She hummed "That's good, can I change you bandage,please?" I think she was trying be friends, so my tiger was really happy about that "Sure you can. Do you need me to move somewhere else?" I could see her think for a second "No it's okay, we can do it here. Let me just get the first aid kit, I'll be right back." She smiled and left to get the first aid kit, I was happy she was getting comfortable with me. I like it here, even though we've be here less then 48hrs. I like Poppy like my cub and I like Jin, I think... no I know he's my mate, our mate.

I didn't release I was lost in my thought when I smelt Poppy in front of me, I smiled up at her "Sorry you look like you were lost in your thoughts and I didn't want to disturb you." She gave me a small smile "That's alright cub, shall we?" I smiled, I did notice her scent spike with happiness when I called her cub, it was just the slip of the tongue. She sat down next to me and gentle took the bandage off me, it certainly looks better but it's still a little sore. "Are you okay if I wipe it clean and then put some cream on you?" I nod at her and held out my palm for her.

It stings when she cleans it and I growled but I growled away from her, she did tense every now and then when I growled, but I didn't want to scare her. "There all done." She gave a small smile, I turn my head in shock to look back and it was already bandage back up. "Wow that was quick cub! I didn't even feel it!" She didn't say anything i could see her cheeks glow red from embarrassment.

When she turn her head away I notice a scar down her neck towards her shoulder. As she turned back to me, my hand went to trace it, she moved away from me when I touched it "What happen?" I looked at Poppy sadly what could have done this to her? But when I notice her eyes had water in the them ready to spill. I knew she was going to cry, so I did what I usually do when one of our pack is sad give them a cuddle.

"Shh hey it's okay.... Sorry I shouldn't have asked." I soothed her as I hugged her and my tail wrapped around her. She flinched at the contact but she slowly relaxed in my hold. "Hybrid" she seemed to mumble "What?" I whispers back to her "A-a hybrid did it to me." What?! How could anyone attack this sweet girl "Is that why you are scared of us?" I ask gentle, she didn't answer she simply nodded. Oh poor baby. I don't realise I was crying until rubbed my face.

I knew she would tell me her story in due time, she doesn't trust us yet, I get that. But I want her to become my friend so I will show her that we are not all bad.

I knew my scent had changed to sour and sad, my ears flicked to rushed footsteps coming in rapidly from the stairs.

Everything happen so fast that I don't know what was going on....

Jimin POV-

What the fuck had she done to Tae! I could smell his scent changed dramatically, once I got downstairs I could see he had been crying!

How dare she make him cry!

My instincts were telling me to get her away from and protect him!

I raced over to the couch and ripped her away from Taehyung.

"WHAT DID YOU DO TO HIM!"

I scream in her face, I could see she was crying, I didn't care she hurt my mate so she will pay for it.

I swiped down on her neck... she let out a blood curdling scream...

"JIMIN!"

All I was seeing red, she was in the way. She was playing with Tae's mind, making him think she was all vulnerable when it's all part of her plan!

I was ripped away from the human "JIMIN! What have you done!" It sound like Hobi, why was he concern for her.

I was thrashing around in someone's arm, a black tail was rapidly swish backwards and forwards behind me, it was Yoongi "YOU NEED TO CALM DOWN!" He growl with with alpha voice, he scruffed my neck and I went limp in his arms, but I was still trying to fight him. I was growling and scratching at his arms to get back to that human.

"What is going...on?!" It was Jin, he was just frozen, he dropped the bags he was carrying, the contents of the bag spilling on the floor.

Then he seemed to come back after a few seconds and race over towards the human. "Hey baby, your okay... Jinnies here now..." I heard him let out a shaky breath "Oh god..." he placed his hand over her neck to stop the blood coming out. "SOMEONE RING AN AMBULANCE NOW!" Jin growled out, Namjoon started moving to get a phone. "I need one you to hold her neck while I get a bandage for my sister." He said with a fierce tone. Hobi stepped up and replaced Jin's hand.

I could see Tae give me a murderous look, I knew I was going to get an earful back in the room.

But before the ambulance got to the house the girl Poppy passed out... at that point something started to stir in me....

The last hour was a blur, the ambulance came and took Poppy away and Jin went with her.

As soon as that front door closed I was ripped away from Yoongi and had a snarling tiger my face, I shifted into my leopard form, I knew I wasn't going to win against Taehyung. He was stronger then I was, he was swiping with his paws at me and hissing. I was growling, but I was trying to get away from him.

Why Tae?

She made you cry?

"ENOUGH!" We both stopped what we were doing. "Both of you shift back and explain WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON!" Namjoon roared with his ears pinned up and forward and tail swishing deadly behind him, he was pissed. We both head to our room to get some clothes as we shredded our others shifting. I could smell the anger rolling off Taehyung.

We soon made it back down stairs where Namjoon wanted me to explain what happen. So I told him what happen and why I acted the way I did. "Do you ever think Jimin!" Taehyung shouted at me "But she made you cry!" That got the attention of the other pack mates "She didn't make me cry idiot, I was crying for her!" He roared back, crying for her?

Why?

"Do you know why she is scared of us?" The others were interested in what Taehyung said, I can see the rest shake their heads "She was attack by one Jimin! She was attack by a hybrid! She has a claw mark scar from her neck to her shoulder!"

Oh...

Ahh fuck why do I feel like this all of a sudden?!

I've messed up big time....

Chapter 2- Settling In

Summary-

Jin runs a hybrid safe house, to help those adjust in normal life again, coming from difficult backgrounds and to learn to be amongst humans again.

What happens when 6 hybrid from completely different background ends up in his care, will there be heartbreak and fights?

Can everyone get along in the end?

Namjoon POV-

Shelter life was different and hard to get used to. When they raided the fighter ring I thought it would be our golden ticket out and we could be set free.

But adjusting back to 'Normal' life is hard, it was so hard to get rid of the training they drill into us at the fighting rings.

The shelter told us we would be moved to a rehabilitation place later on. I just hope the people who run the place were nice. I would do anything to protect my pack.

The evening time came and we were put into a SUV and being moved somewhere. They put a muzzle on me and Jimin as we being a bit more 'Aggressive', we were only protecting my pack and mates.

The journey over was okay, but this muzzle was staring to agitate me, it was starting to rub against my face. The muzzle me and Jimin had on our face, was suited to our animals, if were to shifted the muzzle would accommodate our animal size. I wanted it off and I wanted it off now.

The ride lasted for a good 4 hours, the city scapes turned into small villages, villages turned into open fields and open fields turned into forests. I felt a little more relaxed but not to much, I needed to keep my mates and pack safe.

When we arrived we were all in awe of this house or manor or what ever you would call it. It had a big front drive and forest surrounding it. "Right so we are here. I'm just going to talk to owner and see what is happen alright?" One of the caretakers said. They also said we could come out the car if we wanted to. I just wanted to give into my wolf and run free, I could feel the others shift their weight from one foot to the other.

We were out in the open and the wind picked up slightly and then this scent hit, it was like vanilla more like vanilla ice cream. It was mouth watering, I just wanted to roll around in this scent. I could see Yoongi trying to find where it was coming from, looking around to see if he could see the person. It was our final mate, the one we had been looking for.

As I let my thoughts wonder, I was broken out my thoughts my Hobi asking me something "Namjoon do you think they are nice?" I'm sure they are, but I would still be wary. Hoseok came from a rich family who just abused him and didn't care about much about him, he was used in fights now again as he is a rare red wolf. "I'm sure this will be nice Hope." The caretaker was still talking to the owner, he then turn to us and waved us over, we slowly made our way over and went into the hall way. When I saw a glimpse of the owner, I couldn't believe it, he was a hybrid? But I thought it would be a human, I'm so confused. He was definitely handsome, I notice his tail and ear.

Snow leopard. These hybrids are very rare, however I also notice another scent in the manor, more human and it also stuck to him. I bet he's already married which my me want to growl and rip them apart because he is mine, ours!

As the caretaker and the snow leopard wrapped up talking, I notice a little girl standing in the hallway. I could smell here scent but it was very week, she had scent dampeners on but it was definitely her scent as I could smell it come from her. So not married? Daughter maybe? As I looked a bit closer I couldn't see any ears or tail, wait a human?

But the then the weird thing is, my instincts inside me wants to protect her which is weird, as all humans are the same even children can be horrible.

The snow leopard went outside with out caretaker from the shelter, to what I'm guessing is to talk more about us. "Hi there!" I didn't realise that Hobi had snuck passed, I thought it would be Tae as he was brought up with a family. "Erm Hello." The girl said, I could smell the fear coming from her even though it was weak. I growl aloud, Hobi and the girl jumped back. I don't know why but I was a little bit sad when she jumped back in fear, as the growl was meant for Hoseok to warn him to back off.

I need to get my thoughts together and quickly, before it spirals into something else.

The hybrid introduce hisself and he was holding the girl protectively with his hand on her shoulder and tail wrapped tightly wrapped around her waist.

I found out that it was his sister, so he was probably a caretaker or pet for her.

Typically.

Yoongi POV-

I just couldn't stand humans as they are all the same.

The snow leopard showed us to our room, we were left in this room together. The snow leopard now known as Jin took Namjoon and Jimin's muzzle off them before he left the room. "Jimin are you okay? Your not sore anywhere are you?" I ask Jimin as I moved near him, my hand gentle creasing his face. People always thought he was an easy target, but he's not, he could get quit aggressive if provoked. "I'm fine Hyung. I am just glad to get that thing off me!" I could tell Jimin was all worked up and so were the rest of us. I could see Tae was restless, he kept fidgeting "Taehyung if you need to shift then do it, we will look out for you." Hobi said to him, Tae gets to the point where he needs to shift if he gets stressed or highly emotional. Jungkook was just near Namjoon for comfort, he doesn't always express his feeling but I can see it in his eyes. He doesn't always do well in new environments, as there is new scents and Jungkook is very sensitive towards new smells.

The snow leopard Jin came back to our room with some food and medical supplies for Namjoon and Jimin "I thought you might be hungry? How are we all feeling?" Even though he might be our mate I don't trust him just yet. None of us said anything for a while "We are fine." Jimin said with a bit of bite to his tone. "Well you don't look fine, the red rim around your mouth seems a bit sore. And I know for a fact one of you has a wound on your leg." Oh he's good, he must of read our file.

The door slightly open with a creak, we were all alert and I started to growl to who ever was entering our room "Oppa can I come in?" It was the young ones voice again "Yes sweetie." The door open more and the girl slowly and cautiously made her way in the room, but she stayed near the door. I notice she didn't make eye contact with any of us, it was almost like she was submitting to us, which we have never seen a human do to us. They always look us in eyes, that way we can read them properly. But something stirred inside of me, it was like I didn't want her to submit and I want to comfort her.

I had to stop those thoughts before they developed into something else, I'm guessing Namjoon was having the same problem when we arrived. I could see he was lost in his thoughts.

"Come on snowy they won't bite." Jin said to her, I can sense her nervousness, her scent slightly coming through the blockers she had on. She slowly made her way to her brother and handed him another first aid kit. I notice Taehyung watching her like a hawk, but I could see he was curious about her. I kept my eye on him but also the rest of my pack, I know humans are bad. But something was different here, I'm not trusting her just yet but there is something there.

I felt a nudge on my hand that was learning on the bed. I look down to see who it was, it was Taehyung. We can't speak with each other through ours minds, but we can talk through our eyes. He was asking me for permission to go up to the young girl, I looked over to Namjoon who was looking over as well. He looked at me and then I have a small nod.

Tae moved off the bed quietly and made his way to the girl, Jin was attending to Jimin with his face it looked sore. The girls back was to Taehyung as she was just looking down not wanting to look us in the eyes. Tae bumped his head on her hip and she jump a mile and let out a small yelp. Jin stopped what he was doing with Jimin to see what was going on "Okay sweetheart?" He looked at her and then looked at Taehyung, she nodded afraid to speak "I think he's asking for you to help with his injure. Am I right?" Jin asked Tae, Taehyung gave a small nod at him.

Taehyung POV-

I went over to girl to ask her with my small injure I have on my front paw, also I know I have a Matt somewhere in my fur that needs getting out. I wanted to be her friend, I know the guys have their issues with humans, I've never had a problem. But I can understand where they are coming from, as I've heard stories from other hybrids on how they are treated.

I nudge her hip to let her know I was there, she yelp when I did that and her heart rate was so fast. The snow leopard Jin look at me and he understood what I wanted her to do. After making sure his sister was fine, he went back to looking at Jimin muzzle marks on his face.

I jumped back on the bed so she would be more comfortable then sitting on the floor. "W-where d-does it h-hurt?" She asked it was my front paw that had a cut on it, I booped my nose on the paw to showed her which one.

There was a cut on top of my paw and also on the paw pad it's self, she didn't touch and nor did she look in my eyes, which I was a bit sad about. "Oppa, I think he needs to paw looking at." She said towards Jin, he was finished with Jimin and was about to move onto Namjoon. I didn't want this Jin looking at my paw, I wanted her, his sister.

Jin looked at me as if he was reading me, I could feel my lip twitch slightly and a slight growl build towards him but I held it in. "Snowy I didn't think he wants me to look at it, but I can guide you if you get stuck, hmm?" She looked worriedly at her brother, but I wouldn't do anything to her, I couldn't. I could see her thinking then she spoke "Excuse me sir Mr Panther?" Yoongi suddenly look up at her surprised she even spoke to him, but she slowly started to lift her head up but avoid eye contact "Would it be alright if I touch your friend? If-if not I can get my brother to touch him?" Yoongi looked at me and I look him and move my eyes to her to say 'I want her to do it, just her' he got the message "You can touch him, but be careful!" He said with a stern voice, I saw her flinch when he told her, thanks Hyung don't be to harsh!

She got other first aid box's near her, she sat on the bed very careful, I felt the bed shift more I sensed it was Hobi and Jungkook moving closer to me.

"Is it this one?" She pointed to it, I didn't move I want her to look at me to acknowledge me, she slowly lifted her head and she eventually lifted her eyes to me.

They were the most amazing eyes I have ever seen, I could see how much fear she had in them. I didn't want her to fear me or the rest of us.

I was raised by a family who owned farm, they were very sweet they had a child but she was very sick, so they got me to be her friend and therapy hybrid. My family came from royalties, I'm one of the lucky ones I still have a family. But I've lost contact, I just hope I can see them again one day.

I was always treated so well and I could eat what and when I wanted. I helped out on the farm, one time someone tried to steal some farm equipment once but I stopped them. But that was in the past, I get why the others are less trusting of humans.

But not all humans are bad.

She was wiping very gentle on top of my paw where the small scratch was, it was so gentle that I hardly felt it. "C-could you please turn your-your paw so I-I can see it please?" How can she be so adorable, I turn my paw so she could see the wound "oh no, that must hurt." She sounded so sad, I gave a quiet chuff. "Jinnie I think he needs stitches?" Her brother came over slowly to have a look, he was done with Namjoon a while ago. I'm guessing he was watching what his sister doing making sure she was safe. As he was slowly coming over my ears went back "Poppy, move over slightly and I will have a look." She moved slightly to edge of the bed, Jin was looking at it and gave it a slight touch, that was painful. I growled at him, in his face when he touched a certain spot, Poppy fell off the bed "oof" I wanted to make sure she was okay, but couldn't exactly move just yet "Are you okay?" Jungkook asked her, his ears were pinned forward and alert, Namjoon and Jimin where surprised that he spoke to her "Yes, thank you." She didn't look them in the eye.

After sometime Jin was done stitching my wound on my paw up. I wanted the girl, Poppy to stay with us for some time. "Oh, you have a matt behind your ear." She was looking at it, I knew something was bothering me there, as my ears kept flicking now and again. "Would I be allowed to get it out for you?" I chuff at her to say it was alright, but she turned to Namjoon with eyes down again "Would it be okay if I touched your friend again? And to get the matt out from behind his ear?" I could see Namjoon shocked expression "But if one of you want to do it that fine too." Jimin looked pissed, it look like to was about to attack her. "No, you've done enough. Just get out." Jimin said aggressively to her "oh... okay. I will leave to equipment to get the matt out, outside the door for-for you." I could see Namjoon was fighting an internal battle himself "If-if you need anything please let my brother know." She bowed and left.

She’s just a child, she’s not going to hurt us. As she left I laid on the bed and slowly closed my eyes wanted to get this day over with.

Jin POV-

It was the early hours of the morning when I woke up, I was restless all night, I just couldn't sleep.

I was probably restless as we were expecting a new pack of hybrids.

I house hybrids, a hybrid safe house. This house is a safe place where they can tried to be rehabilitated to go back into the world. They come here from a shelter that they stay in the city. The shelter in the city are not always ideal for hybrids coming out of fighting rings, slavery and amongst other problems, but some shelters are nasty towards hybrids, but I work with one of the nice ones.

Hybrids are free people now they have the same rights as humans, but there are some people, some humans in this would that just want to harm them, keep them as pets, abuse them or fight them.

But we've housed hybrid here before but for some reason I was just really nervous. I couldn't stay in bed any longer I had to get up and do something.

The house was quiet, my ears flicked to the sound of soft breaths of my sister coming from her room. My tail swished anxiously behind me.

I'm always worried when any hybrids step into to this house, as I never know how they will react in a new environment. I always worry about my sister as sometimes they don't take to kindly to her, this is her safe space as well and my number one priority, I need to keep her safe.

I only read there profiles briefly and from what I read it was shocking, illegal fighting rings and pets who were abused and one therapy pet, which wasn't too bad I guess. Therapy hybrids are always treated the best, with most being aloud freedom to roam.

I can't imagine or relate what they have all been through as I've been lucky enough to raised my sister.

I started to cook breakfast as I didn't realise I was lost in my thoughts, really lost in my thoughts. I must have a lot on my mind lately.

I notice it was nearly time for my sister to get up. I know she usually wakes about 8/8:30am, as I was at stove making pancakes, it's one of her favourites. Sometimes she will go through a phase where she's not hungry at breakfast time, but I usually make something light for her.

A while later my ears twitched to the sound of her door opening, I heard the creak of the stairs as she made her way down to wards where I am in the kitchen, she is never a morning person. Poppy does suffer form nightmares now and again but hasn't done for awhile. When she does have them I stay with her in either my human or animal form, but it seems she seems to settle when I'm in my Snow Leopard form.

I heard a yawn and then a creak of a seat being sat in "Morning baby." I said as I finished the breakfast "Morning" Poppy whispered yawn to me.

I made my way to her and placed a plate of pancakes in front of her and I kissed her head as I went back to make my own breakfast.

"Sleep well?" She hummed in response "How about you oppa?" She asked me sleepily "I did baby, I slept okay. You know we have 6 hybrid coming here today." She nodded her head, she is wary when new hybrids come, as some don't like humans and tend to lash out. So I keep my sister away from those hybrids at the beginning if I can.

"Do you know what time they are arriving?" I had to look on my phone quickly to see when they were coming "The centre didn't really say, but I'm guessing they should be coming round about lunchtime sweetie." She just nodded and continued eating her breakfast.

After Poppy had done she told me she was going to get ready. Once she was gone I quickly read through an email I got on the six coming here, it did say~

'Wary of humans.

leopard hybrid might attack but has yet to show any signs of aggression yet.

Wolf is the main leader of the pack, Mated pack.'

So they are a pack and mated. "Poppy come here for a moment." I shouted from the kitchen to her bedroom. "Coming Oppa." I heard as my ears twitched in the direction of her voice.

"Are you still in the kitchen oppa?"

"Yes sweetie." I replied back to her, As she appeared in the kitchen again I ask her "Could you put some scent dampener or blockers on please?" She didn't put on a fight on this "Can I put the scent dampener on? If not I can be the blockers on?" I thought about this, if one of them is hostile that scent blockers would be better, but it says wary of humans. "Ware the scent dampers for now and we will see how we go."

I hate it when she has to put either on, Poppy has a weak heart and gets ill quickly, so for me her scent is very important.

Poppy POV-

Midday came and went and the new hybrid arrivals still hadn't arrived. It was almost 6 o'clock in the evening when the door bell went off.

Jin went to go and answer the door and he was talking to one of the carers from the sanctuary, I got off from the couch and stood in the hallway to greet them. Jin has told me nothing and he hasn't even told what hybrid type they are.

I could hear Jin talking to the shelters carer and that's when I saw one of them, he had striped ears. But I saw something around two of the hybrids mouth.

It was a muzzle, muzzles are used when they are biting or trying to attack, but they are only supposed to be used in extreme cases. I never in my whole life have seen a hybrid with a muzzle on, they must be really uncomfortable for them.

Jin was wrapping up with the hybrid caretaker, all of sudden I saw red ears in my face "Hi there!" He said with a smile "Erm Hello." I said back then thats when I heard a growl from come from one them.

Jin came around by that point and wrapped his arms around my shoulder and tail around my waist. "Hello everyone, my name is Jin and I will be taking care of you whilst you stay here." The one with the black ears spoke "Who's the human?" He said the word 'Human' with venom "This Human is my sister, she's here to help you as well. But if you don't want here to help just call my name and I will come to assist you." Jin never says my name to them straight away unless they ask me, we've had some pretty violent hybrids here. But Jin's always about so I know he won't leave me alone.

After a brief and I mean a very brief introduction, Jin lead them to there room where they will be staying. Jin was up there for a bit, when he did reappear in the kitchen where I was sitting. I saw he had two of the muzzle in his hands, but he place them down with a loud thud on the counter, which made me jump slightly. "Are they okay oppa?" I ask my brother, I wanted to make sure they were fine. "There fine cub..." he sighed out, I was sensing he was going to say something else. "Would you get the fist aid kit and meet me in the big room on right." I was a bit hesitant to go "Baby don't worry I will be there with you." I guess he could see it on my face as he placed a kiss on the top of my head.

"Jin what are you trying to do?" I asked him out of curiosity "What do mean Pops?" I through they didn't like humans "I don't think they like me?" He looked at me but I could see the wheels Turing in his head.

"I'm just trying to get them used to you being around as a first, the one with red ears seemed to like you." Well I guess I can see where he was coming from "But oppa I don't think they will warm up to me that quickly." I sighed "I just don't want whatever plan you have in mind to bite you in the arm." Jin chuckle at my choice of words "Well if thats what happens, that's what happens. But I would let them harm you, I will protect you. If I don't try and let them interact with humans, they will just be classed at feral and you know what that means." Yeah I did it was meaning that they would be put down, I hated that.

No one should ever go through that, ever. It's just wrong.
