Rare design for this chilling summer hikizuri (long skirt kimono). From the pale lavender ground, blooms akikusa (autumn plants) while a skeleton emerges from the haze. The discarded and rotten itatoba (buddhist wooden grave tablets) seems to indicate that this scene takes place in a cemetery - or at least by a lonely grave.

This late summer/early autumn kimono is definitely a striking conversation piece and was probably worn by a Geisha.

i honestly never truly agreed that Father sees Yato only as his tool like, from the moment he appeared, he’s been HELLA possessive of him, and it was only ‘Yaboku, Yaboku, Yaboku’ on his mind i agree with Tori’s theory that son was his wish bc, aside for Tsuki theory, that’s my favorite one??  but i still wonder if Yato is somehow related to Freckle Girl and he made him after her image?  was she his lost daughter so now he wished for a son?? was she his lover??? his goddess???? was she a SHE????   honestly, before i started to read Noragami manga, when i first saw that imagine of her in 60th chapter, i thought it was Yato lol (back when i read DMG, Kanda and Alma’s story made me believe every plot twist is possible– and heck, I was right about them back then :’D )  but it’s so obvious daddo wants his family (but at the same time, ISN’T IT WEIRD HE HAD TO WISH FOR A SON, WHY NOT GO AND MAKE ONE, ADOPT ONE HUH. WHY TREATING NORA LIKE A REAL TOOL THEN WHEN SHE’S MORE OF A HUMAN THAN YATO HUH I JUST - 

every month i am in awe of just how masterfully adachitoka has written father. the complexity. the depth. who let their brains be this huge

Storms, Blight and Names.

Recently, I have been thinking a lot about Hagusa’s forms. One thing I’ve often come back to, is the idea that his stormy form is directly influenced by this quote from Yato.

Was the concept of the web a product of Hagusa’s connection with Yato? Is it potentially his attempt at filling these ’cracks’ Yato claims he needs to help Heaven with? When considering the connections between god and shinki, I can’t bring myself to fully rule it out. Could this web be the result of Yukine’s subconscious, redirecting his negative emotions away from Yato?

After all, further blighting Yato, would only put him closer to death, which does not align with Yukine’s current goals.

One of the things I find so intriguing about this idea, are the numerous occasions we have seen Adachitoka illustrate the differences between how Yukine and Kazuma, deal with blight...

I am not convinced that when given a second name, Shinki don’t continue to form blight, stinging their master. Depression doesn’t just disappear like that. The storms in Noragami are physical manifestations of depression and negative emotions. Even a storm doesn’t just “blow over”, it has to go somewhere.

The thought, is that being given a second name may have the ability to “mask” any blight associated with the old name. Similarly to when the medicine Kugaha gave Bishamon subsided and the blight of her shinki returned...

So what happens...

When that mask...
