Jungkook was the epitome of hard work. If there was anyone you would’ve named as annoyingly competitive at your school, it would’ve been him - sarcastic, fierce, smart, always trying to up you whenever he could.

The science lab that you both shared was always an intense business, and the class knew how the whole lab would be punctuated by the teacher deciding which of you was more correct as soon as you and Jungkook entered the room. The semester had started one month and a half ago, but the whole team of teachers had taken note of the mess that the pair of you were. From trying to out correct each other to vying for the TA’s praise, the competition between the two of you was something that made everyone gawk and laugh at. This lab was no different.

Sunday’s were likely your favorite day of the entire week.  It was the day you spent rejuvenating and, de-stressing from your usually long and arduous work weeks. Sundays involved sleeping in past 9am, freshly pressed coffee, TV reruns and, most importantly banana pancakes. There were many Sunday’s you spent indulging in these fluffy little bits of heaven by yourself but, today, you were joined by the only thing that could possibly make Sundays any better: your boyfriend Jungkook. Jungkook had been rehearsing into the early hours of the morning for the better part of the month and, this didn’t pair well with your own demanding career that kept you at meetings and conferences during most of your free time. However, this Sunday, the only tasks you were given was to relax and enjoy each other’s company.

“I feel like we could add a few more bananas.”   A sleepy, gravelly voice rumbles against your shoulder. Jungkook’s arms were wrapped around your waist, his chin resting on your shoulder as he watches you mix the batter.

“You already added two more when I wasn’t looking…” You retort, smirking as you use the spatula to scrap the batter down the side of the bowl. Jungkook snickers behind you, not denying your observation as he wraps his arms tighter around you.
