a lot of people have been asking how they can help me during the recovery time from Hurricane Helene and I am the type of person who hates asking for help, but unfortunately I've reached a breaking point of needing it.

the major point of the storm hit Friday, Sept 27th, and that is when I lost power at 6:40 am. I still do not have power, and they don't know when I will. for the first two days, I was trapped in my house because where there was a creek in front of my house, it turned into a rushing, dangerous river. i didn't have water or food. What water i did have i gave a lot to my disabled cat in hopes that the power would come on soon, or i would be able to get out.

you may know that I am a 911 dispatcher, so I kept watching the water and eventually to drive out knowing work was going to be overloaded. I got stuck and walked through almost knee-high water to get help. I found out that someone up the road from me lost their life in the flood, and it was a hit to my heart because, as hopeless as I felt at least, I had my life.

my landlord was able to help me get my car out and some belongings. I left what water I could for milo and drove to town. a 25 min drive took almost 2 hours through trees, water, rocks, and mud. my little town looks like the end of the world.

now, a few days later, I am exhausted. I have been able to go back and give milo more water, but still no power. work is hell, but I keep pushing to help people who are stuck. tomorrow, I am going to go back out and walk through the mud to get to my house and clean out my ruined fridge. while im out there, I'm gonna load up with donated supplies from work and give them out to people who can't leave the remote area.

but the help I need is sadly money. I can't stay at home. gas, food, and bills have already drained my account. this hurricane ripped up my life so quickly in ways I didn't expect. you don't consider you have to buy muck boots or food to fill a fridge once you get power. life is harsh.

if you can help, thank you. if you can't, that is completely okay. thank you for letting me get this out. it's been a long few days, and it's gonna be even longer.

ATEEZ SMALL PERFUME REVIEW: TOM FORD — BLACK ORCHID

ATEEZ SMALL PERFUME REVIEW: TOM FORD BLACK ORCHID
ATEEZ SMALL PERFUME REVIEW: TOM FORD BLACK ORCHID
ATEEZ SMALL PERFUME REVIEW: TOM FORD BLACK ORCHID

disclaimer: this is not meant to be a serious perfume review, this is something fun for me to do as I love perfume. each and every one of us have different tastes and preferences when it comes to fragrances. what works for me might not work for you, vice versa. I’ll try my best to describe the scents but I will always suggest for you to go and smell them yourself before purchase. if you want to try these perfumes, please test or get a sample before committing to the bottle. picture credits to the owners.

ateez members: san & wooyoung

fragrance family: warm florals

notes:

top — black truffle, ylang ylang, bergamot, bitter orange

heart — orchid, spices, black plum

base — vanilla, patchouli

my scent experience:

it starts off warm, spicy, and floral with a hint of bitterness. it’s really dark with the truffle but there’s also a bright element to it, I’m guessing from the bergamot. once it settles into the skin, the orchid shines through but its still very warm. the dry down is pretty spicy and sweet, almost chocolatey which if I’m being honest, I’m not a huge fan of that. think of it as warm orchids and dark chocolate in a perfume. definitely not for the light fragrance users here.

the longevity is really good, I sprayed it just before I left for work at 7am and it stayed on until I finished work at 5pm. the projection is good, maybe a little too good as it made me dizzy for a bit (and not the good type of dizzy).

additional notes from me:

I bought the travel spray at sephora in Rome before leaving for the airport — yes I bought this hours before buying Tam Dao it’s clear that I have no self control when it comes to perfumes. I am well aware that I decided to give this perfume a chance despite me having mixed feelings about it. I’m glad I bought this perfume as I can layer it with other fragrances (I’ve yet to experiment) and make a perfume cocktail. also adding that the travel spray bottle is quite fancy.

who would I recommend this to?

anyone who likes the scent of dark chocolate.

those who want something that makes a statement and not afraid to wear heavier scents.

anyone who wants to check out tom ford fragrances (signature line).

if you made it to the end, thank you for reading this review! I will admit, this review was quite difficult for me to write as the projection was making me dizzy. worth it cause I don’t mind the scent but there will be a time and place for this fragrance for me. let me know which fragrance I should review next!

sm moving at light speed with a statement and swift contract split means there really ain’t no other way to spin this. incredibly shocking and disappointing news. wishing love, healing, and justice to all victims wrapped up in this situation - and former fans, be gentle with yourself. you couldn’t have known and it always hurts to have hard truths revealed like this but on the other side of the coin, let’s see this for what it is and let go. the only defending he needs is from an actual lawyer.

(longer masterpost of all ways you can help)

updated 3/6/2024 with Gaza Wound Care & We Feed Gaza. I wanted to focus on Palestinian-run grassroots initiatives that will actually reach Gazans on the ground, so all of these except Crips for eSIMs, PCRF, PRCS and MAP are by Palestinians. i have verified them but please feel free to do your own vets for your peace of mind.

Remember small donations really do add up. Any amount counts, even $1!
