stoner jongho who thought weed was for losers at first but sees you, someone he really likes, smoking at some party and decides to join. he takes his first hit of the joint and barely inhales but coughs so much that his face turns read and he sees stars. when you giggle at him though, his face isn’t red from the coughing anymore. he hardly gets high but pretends to be just so he can get away with staring at your face every chance he gets and not have it be creepy. once you invite him to hang with you and your other friends to smoke some other time, he immediately agrees, forgetting that he doesn’t consider himself someone who would smoke weed for fun. but once he realizes he feels so relaxed and happy being around you (regardless of if he’s high) he embraces the stoner life. he gets his bud from a friend of yours, choi san, and often lets you have entire joints that he’s paid for, because he loves seeing your face light up whenever he offers it to you. every so often, it ends up being just the two of you, jongho and you, smoking in your car somewhere. those times, he finds himself sneaking gentle touches, brushing your shoulders together, moving hair out of your face, moving so you can lean on his shoulders. he doesn’t know it, but you love him. soon, the casual touches turn to more frequent affection, him finding comfort in the way you grab his arm when he tells a funny joke or the way you sigh quietly and let yourself find peace in him after a hard day, and one day you feel like you might cry or melt or cease to exist and you have nothing to hold back anymore and you whisper under your breath, the smell of weed sweetly hanging in the air, a quiet “jongho. jongho i love you.” he goes silent and you think you’ve ruined it, but he looks at you with the widest eyes, completely sober, and brings his hand up to your face, touching your cheek, pulling you close to his face, so close you can feel his breath on your lips and you think he might kiss you but instead he presses his forehead against yours and says “i love you too, i’ve loved you for so long” and then he kisses you, sweetly, gently, lovingly, and you know that he means it, it’s not the weed talking. after he’s done kissing you, he tries to play it cool by taking another hit of the joint you both were smoking but is so excited that you love him back that he chokes on the smoke, coughing almost as hard as the first time he took a hit with you, and you laugh. this time, neither of you have to hide your blushing, and once he’s done coughing you kiss him on the cheek, telling him teasingly “if you can’t hang, i’m gonna have to stop smoking with you.” he knows your joking but he pouts anyway, pulling you into his arms saying “nope, now you’re never getting rid of me.”

DON'T LOOK AWAY.

So I found Aaron Bushnell's reddit and went through his comments/posts. That young man was well read and stable as they can be. Nothing in his writings pointed to someone who was "unstable" or "brainwashed".

He held leftist and anarchist ideals. He belong to the ACAB subreddit. He recognized the evil of the US Military even though he himself was a part of it. He hated TERFS and called out fatphobia. He understood the dangers of white supremecy and the evils of capitalism.

He had a cat. He liked the show fleabag and played elden ring.

Apparently in his will he wants to leave any money in his name to palestinian relief funds. He was trying to find a new owner for his cat.

Rest in peace Aaron Bushnell. The world won't forget & we sure as fuck won't let the media paint you out to be some crazy conspiracy theorist who had no idea what he was doing.

A little girl died from hunger in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, despite being in the area where aid trucks are distributed. Another family in the north in Gaza city was forced to eat a donkey, which for many in Palestine is inconceivable culturally. Bisan says there isn't even water (clean OR dirty) for them to drink or wash with.

Don't forget about the Palestinians.

Don't forget about them now.

Don't forget about them tomorrow.

Don't forget about them in a week from now.

Don't forget about them in a month.

Don't forget them next year.

Don't forget them in 5 years.

When the history books start to update, don't let them put lies in there.

When documentaries come out, boycott the ones who call this a victory for Israel.

When books release talking about soldier's personal experiences with Palestine, remember the victims. Remember the truth.

Don't forget about what we've seen.

Don't forget about what we've heard.

Don't let them tell lies about Palestine.

Don't forget about the Palestinians when the world tries to make this go away.

There is still hope. Say it out loud. Palestine will be free. The Palestinian people will celebrate their culture and heritage with each other. We will love and be loved. Do not fall into the trap of despair.
