Hiya! I'm not sure if this is the right blog to ask questions... I just started playing Guenevere! What is your inspiration for the character personalities? Does Guen's lovely Fae dog die? (I hope not) Is Merlin going to stay as odd as he is? Will he make more sense later? (I hope so) Haha, I'm just full of questions. :P
Sure; I think my ask box on the main blog is still closed because I was so overwhelmed, but I still like getting questions now and then! Though I’m not sure what to say about inspiration for the character personalities; I guess I just thought about the traditional Arthurian archetypes and what felt interesting and/or real to me about them? The fae pet will live as long as Guen does (yay)! Merlin will both stay odd and make more sense later, especially in Book III, where he’ll play a large role -- in fact, I’ve already written some of his scenes there. You’ll also get to talk with him for a while at the end of Book II. I have a rough plan for a Merlin prequel, as well!

Ok, Arthur really needs a hug right now. (But as usual, Guen is not obligated to give him one.)
I had a bit of writer’s block last week, but it seems to be gone now, especially as I’m coming up on a segment that I’ve been looking forward to writing for literally years. If you’re an Arthur fan, you’ll probably know it when you see it.
Also, I would like to live on a space whale. Please can I live on a space whale with my space son and our space wolf.
(It’s possible that a space whale cured my writer’s block.)
Hi I just saw the post and I am really curious about the possibility of poly relationship in guenevere too!! What are the possible poly relationship that the have offers (if it offers any)? Also I love your game and I have been loving the way you write, the depth that your character seem to have, the hard work with choices and paths it's seriously breath taking 💜 thank u for making this majestic piece of writing and for keep working on it despise everything.
:) Ok, for those who are wondering, my intention pretty much from the beginning has been to include the following options:
Obviously (and fairly easily), Guen can end up in a relationship with any one of the three main NPCs.
A poly relationship with Arthur and Lancelot is a definite option. I mean, that’s more or less canon, but in this version it can be positive. This can be fully in place in Book 3.
A poly relationship with Lancelot and Morgana is an option, but may be more difficult to achieve. Morgana is 100% opposed in Book 2 and can’t change her mind until Book 4.
A V-shape-only poly relationship with Arthur and Morgana is a possible option. Arthur and Morgana will be viscerally averse to any kind of romantic or sexual relationship between the two of them, but they can agree to share Guen as early as the end of Book 2 (more or less).
Still not sure about a possible four-way arrangement. I know some readers are interested. :)
It will be possible, though probably not easy, to matchmake Lancelot and Morgana if Guen is not involved with either. Their relationship at present is 100% platonic. In time, as they both grow and change, their feelings for each other might also grow and change, under certain circumstances.
Alternatively, you can matchmake Lancelot with another character who will be introduced in Book 3, but only if Guen is not in a relationship with Lancelot, or ends her relationship with him in order for him to be with the other person.
also:
I have had requests for an option to matchmake Arthur and Lancelot if Guen is not involved with either. I do know exactly how that would happen if I included it, but I’m still trying to decide if it’s a good idea or not.
I have had requests for an option to matchmake Arthur with another female character if Guen isn’t interested in him. I’m considering it, but haven’t yet been hit with any particular inspiration in that direction.
Guen will have opportunities to end relationships as time passes, and to start new ones -- so even if she and one of the three NPCs aren’t in a relationship in the first few books, they might enter into one later. At least, I hope I can make that work. It’s going to be complicated!
And thank you thank you @rubish235 for all of your kind words!
You’d think after rewriting this stupid battle scene like 500 times over multiple years I would have learned how to spell “siege” correctly.
