Katsuki Bakugo has only ever loved one woman, Mina Ashido. She was his best friend. She was also the first and only girlfriend he had ever had. Growing up, Bakugo wasn’t very outgoing and he could count on one hand how many friends he really had. Mina was like a breath of fresh air to him. Coaxing him out of his shell and into new things. One new thing was a poly relationship with her other childhood best friend Kirishima Eijiro. Everything was perfect, even if Katsuki felt inferior to the red headed boy.

Cue the predictable heartbreak when Mina dumps Katsuki and leaves. No explanation, no reason, just a public dumping at some fancy restaurant he can’t remember the name of. As an adult, Katsuki’s circle is even smaller than it was before, and he’s found it nearly impossible to move on.

Y/N L/N. Waitress, Chef on the rise [but mostly a waitress at some swanky place that’s ridiculously over priced], part-time student, full-time dumbass. Y/N doesn’t believe in marriage. Her parents shitty marriage proved that it was a total sham. Never staying in a relationship for longer than a few months, Y/N has rid her hands of those as well. Unfortunately for her, Izuku Midoriya refuses to see his bestie single and has taken it upon himself to get his two closest friends together. 

Too bad Bakugo is too shy to say anything and Y/N is too much of a wild card to play by the rules…but maybe they’ve each got something the other needs to give them a little push in the right direction.
