he may be new to romance and relationships, but he is SHAMELESS.

for a second he sits there, flustered, before returning the gesture and resting his head on your shoulder.

he loves it so much. it brings a certain sense of comfort to him, knowing that your there.

he will reach down and grab your hand, giving it a little squeeze.

the quiet little restaurant was nearly empty, the few people in there being you and Yusuke, and Ryuji, Ann, and Akira. It had been quite an eventful day.

you and Yusuke had known eachother since middle school, and the two of you had a strong friendship; one that quickly blossomed into love.

And never in the 4 years that you had known him, had you ever seen him so....dejected. You felt a pang in your heart. He deserved so much more, but here he was, having been lied to by one of the few people he trusted; The man he considered his father. He sat in his seat beside you, staring quietly at the table as your new friends chatted away. His eyes were dull, the deep prussian blue lacking its usual shine. You wanted to say so many things to him. But you knew it would be best to say all of that a different time. So you did the only other things you could think of to reassure him.

You scooched closer to him, intertwining your hands. he perked up a bit. You slowly leaned down, until your head was gently touching his, giving his hand a squeeze. he squeezed back, leaning his head into your shoulder, and as he spoke his voice was barley a whisper.

I have been drawn into a false sense of security by the anime ending of season five, and with chapter 111 just around the corner, I'm reminded that:

Dazai isn't alive (yet 😭), Chuuya's isn't faking being a vampire, Aya still jumped off, Fyodor is a thriving rat bastard, Sigma's neither confirmed to be dead or just unconscious, Fukufuku didn't (and maybe will never) have their marital talk, and Akutagawa's still biting Atsushi's neck.

Goro's apartment was quiet, the only sound being the soft noises you made in your sleep.

you had a firm grip on him, arms wrapped around his torso, head nestled into his neck. He could feel your warm breath on his skin, a shiver running down his back.

he wasn't often a gentle person, or a soft one. but he could always make an exception when it came to you. he rubbed small circles on your back, admiring how the moonlight made your small frame look so angelic, skin glowing in the light.

He didn't deserve you. He knew that. Everyday he urged himself to leave, but as soon as he saw your smiling face, those thoughts were thrown out the window.

The golden sunlight shone through the thin white curtains of your boyfriend's room. The warm summer air flew through the window and you sighed as it flew over your skin. You also sighed at the feeling of your boyfriend's strong arms around you, and the feeling of his breath against the inside of your neck. The feeling of things had always been something important to you, because it was the only way you could really connect with them, and touch, especially with Neji, was special.

“Don’t you find it odd?” you asked your boyfriend, as you drifted your hands over his cheeks.

“Hmm?” he asked, sleepily in your neck. Neji’s voice had always been calm, and slightly stern, but when he was with you his voice always lost its sharp edge. Your hands drifted into his hair as you talked.

“That your eyes are brilliant. And my eyes are…far from that.” you spoke into his hair, hands rubbing his back. It was a thought that often consumed her mind. Neji’s eyes were an amazing gift, he could see things many ninja could only wish to see, but you? Your eyes lacked even the basic ability to see. Maybe that's what made the two of you so perfect for eachother. 

“Not really. Your eyesight rarely passes my mind.” he lied, tips of his ears turning a light shade of pink. Your vision was constantly on his mind, whether he was worried or not. He maneuvered so you could rest your head on his chest and he could draw small circles on your back. You were happy to hear what he said, even if he was lying. You feared often that your eyes bothered him. You knew you were high maintenance, and you knew it would be hard for Neji to adjust, especially because eyesight had always been his speciality.  

“I don’t find it bothersome,” he said, practically reading your mind. He moved his hands down to your waist, drawing little shapes there as well. You smiled and curled deeper into Neji, his warmth taking hold of your small cold body. He held you tighter, and a peaceful silence took over the room. The sunlight that used to be a soft gold color had become deeper, more red and orange, it lit up your soft skin, and Neji couldn’t help but stare. You looked angelic, your H/c locks drifting around your face, flowing onto his chest. Your eyes were closed, long lashes brushing your flushed cheeks. He had never loved someone before, and growing up he was barely shown love in general, so it was hard for him to get used to it. but you didn’t mind. 

He didn’t deserve you. But you didn’t mind.
