I Dont Understand Why Tella Is Questioning If Jacks Is Legend Or Not. Like Why Would Jacks Ask For Legend

I don’t understand why Tella is questioning if Jacks is Legend or not. Like why would Jacks ask for Legend through all those letters and stuff if he was Legend himself. Why would he ask for himself? Also why does she think Jacks put her mother there? Why isn’t she curious about Jacks motives? I’m like so confused, she said she was curious but she’s not even asking the questions. I’d trying to get as many answers as possible.

Btw this is not hate towards her, I’m just confused on her lack of questions. I’m reading it for the first time so you’ll probably see me making more comments like these

They honestly murdered Nikolai’s character. This character is being the only monarch who cares about his country and his people. The whole reason he created Sturmhond, the whole reason he’s a privateer, the whole reason he works for the Darkling and kidnappings Alina. This entire character is based on his love for his country and him doing anything he can to make it better for his people. It’s the whole reason I fell in love with his character, I love that he was an inventor and a strategist prince with military experience, everything you look for in a leader. And now you’re telling me that he has to be convinced to save Ravka?! It was Alina in the books who need to be convinced to save the country. Don’t ruin his entire character just to make Alina look better. No matter what you do you won’t make me like her and now they made me hate the only protagonist I liked. Fuck you.

He was the perfect balance between Alina and the Darkling. And the only hero I liked. He should be the one ruling Ravka not Zoya, he was the perfect man for it, I can’t believe LB threw away his life goal, the everything he worked for away just to have Zoya “can’t control her anger” Nazyalensky on the throne, it’s fucking ridiculous. Like Nikolai had a whole plan for democracy.

But that’s literally not what the narrative is saying, the narrative or Scarlett isn’t saying that at all. Scarlett never scolds Tella for getting with a lot of men, she scolds her because she knows that if she’s caught her father is going to punish them, like outright hit them and stuff. Scarlett gets punished for Tella’s mistake and Tella gets punished for Scarlett’s mistakes. That’s how their father controls them. You can’t blame Scarlett for not fighting back when Tella is the one who would be punished for Scarlett’s defiance. She was a scared teenage girl who thought she had no way of escape because if she did than her sister would get hurt. She was a girl controlled by fear. Scarlett was not in a position to control what happened to her and her father and she though that if she got married she would get that choice because the count seemed different than her father. And she later grows out of that fear, she realizes there’s more to life than just living in fear and that her father can’t control her, that she has a choice and a voice. She sends her father away, and attacks the count and refuses to marry him as well. She realizes she was wrong for always obeying her father because he was controlling her.

Just saw a post saying that Scarlett Dragna conforms to gender roles and that Tella should’ve been the protagonist isn’t of Scarlett and compared her to Taryn because she wanted that marriage and wanted to be safe from her father. Because she wanted safety over living for danger like tf?! Like did we miss the part where she though the only thing that can save her was this marriage? What I first liked about Scarlett was that she wanted safety, she wasn’t in a position do to whatever she wants, if she did than her father would punish her sister. She had never known safety and she wanted that first. Everytime she agrees to this marriage is when she’s trying to protect someone she loves. She marrying in the first place so the count can take Scarlett and her sister away from their abusive dad and the other time was when she was trying to protect Julian, her way of protecting them might not be with fighting but she’s still do it and I applaud her for it and love her for it. And she realizes that that’s not what all life’s about, that’s it’s not just about being safe but also living and that’s called character development

They also said that Stephenie was trying to brainwash teenage girls by making them think that following the rules and conforming to gender roles. Like what? I don’t much about Stephenie Garber and the Caraval series since I just started reading them but one of the things I love about Scarlett and Eva is that they’re kind of traditionally feminine, Scarlett wants to get married to a man who can protect her from her father and Eva just wants to find her one true love, she loves to dress up and favorite thing about her self is her rose gold hair and she likes to dress up and stuff and I love that about her. (like me) I relate to her so much on that level. I love they’re traditional feminine and they aren’t being punished for it.

So anyways that’s my rant, I just want peoples to stop bashing female characters for wanting traditional female things or wanting what’s typically feminine. Like if you want a badass sword fighting women than go read some other book, this one isn’t for you. Women are allowed to liked things that apparently conform to gender roles, just let them like what they want.

(speaking from what the trailer showed, obviously. hope i'm wrong) but sturmhond/nikolai not having the initiative to save ravka is a huge change in his character. alina, who shocks nikolai in the books by her lack of interest in participating in the war, having to convince him to participate is completely out of character and awkward to say the least.

nikolai is the only monarch who truly cares for his country and was more than ready to do anything so that he could help his people. he didn't need to be convinced of anything. in fact, he had a hard time convincing the protagonist to help. don't change his personality to make alina look better.
