Everyone Always Focuses On Sokovia And Ultron And Tony's Involvement But No One Ever Thinks About How

everyone always focuses on Sokovia and Ultron and Tony's involvement but no one ever thinks about how Bruce was also involved completely because they're both scientists. no one thinks about Wanda purposefully going in and digging in Tony's head, amplifying his PTSD and putting visions of all his friends dead in his head with the intent of making Tony create Ultron

Everyone always focuses on blaming Tony for the bomb that killed Wanda's parents but no one thinks about Tony being so shit faced he couldn't see straight at that time bec he was so deep in self-medicating his trauma that he could not even run his company and that it was Obidiah Stane that was the one in charge of the company and illegally selling the weapons that killed her parents

Everyone focuses on Tony selling weapons in the first movie but no one thinks about how it was Howard Starks company and that Tony was groomed from birth to run it and that he had tried multiple times to make something else of the company but was constantly shut down with guilt tripping until he was kidnapped and he forced the manufacturing to end

Everyone focuses on Tony being "conceited" and "arrogant" and not "caring about anyone but himself" but no one thinks about how every single action he makes in his movies are about protecting the people he loves and cares for. His biggest fear is his friends- not himself- dying. he goes into every battle he's in fully prepared to die and does make the sacrifice play many many times

everyone always focuses on what Tony did wrong, but no one thinks about how much he has grown and how he spends every single waking moment trying to be a better and better man who cares so deeply about everyone and is trying to protect everyone the only way he knows how- and that is with the brain and intellect that had been the only thing about Tony that was ever praised about

I think that there’s something to be said about the recent influx of comments saying that YA fiction as a genre needs to be replaced by something that divides YA fiction into younger teens and older teens/newer adults. While this is something that could be done, and done well (because there is a difference in tastes from being 12 and being 18) it is really telling when the reasoning behind “let’s divide YA fiction into subsections of age” is just to allow smut/sex scenes in the YA-realm without facing the criticism.

YA fiction has always, always been for kids and teenagers aged 13-18. Yes, it’s very likely that younger kids will pick up these books. I was 11 when I read The Hunger Games and Divergent. Similarly, I was 13 when I started reading adult fiction. But I knew what I was getting into, and I knew that going up an age group would entail more mature topics. I understand that it is on me, as the consumer, to research the content of the media I consume and protect myself. By reading genres that were above my recommended age level, I knew that I might read things that made me uncomfortable, and I was okay with it because I also knew that those genres were not written for me.

Which brings me to S/JM, Shelby Mahurin, etc. Because these books are adult books written and then published in the YA genre. These were absolutely not categorized correctly by publishing. These books were not written for kids aged 12-18, but they were advertised as such. And because of it, kids were introduced to themes that they weren’t ready for. There’s a big difference between “coming-of-age” stories and “erotica but it’s fantasy” and authors/publishers need to start respecting that difference.

So yes, it’s the responsibility of consumers to understand what they might encounter in the material they read. But publishers and authors are equally, if not more, responsible to ensure that the content they release and advertise is appropriate for the audience they target. You cannot tell me that A/COMAF going on every YA bestseller’s list won’t result in young teenagers picking up those books. You cannot. At some point, if an adult book peddled as YA is shoved into everyone’s face, the teens are going to pick it up.

This responsibility has been completely tossed aside in the past few years, and maybe it’s because of a cultural shift that has flooded media with a demand for violence, sex, whatever. But this general demand does not make it okay to now target younger audiences with that material. Teenagers have the right to demand media that does not make them uncomfortable, and it is unfair for other (ADULT) audiences to demand they change the name/makeup of their genre so stans can keep reading “YA books” by their faves instead of demanding that said authors publish those books under the appropriate marketing.

If your response to criticism is to say that the YA genre needs to be shifted or defined so that teenagers don’t encounter porn in their books, that’s extremely problematic. It’s great that you enjoy those books, and it’s great that you read YA. But this genre has always been for teens. It’s not our fault that it was taken over by explicit topics when the fact that it even happened in the first place was the result of publication shirking their duties to ensure appropriate media. Please stop telling us to “redefine YA lit” or “do your research” when we complain that books make us uncomfortable.

Okay so I have four theories for who bought the Stark Tower (and I’m calling the Stark Tower because it was own by Tony and clearly the Avengers where living there for free)

It could the Fantastic Four, which would make sense as to why they haven’t revealed who bought it yet. Although I don’t know why they all the way back in him coming. I don’t know much about them but it would make sense since they’re coming in the mcu and one of them is rich enough to buy it (Reed Richards I think?)

Kingpin, this is the perfect opportunity for him to take that spot of a “next philanthropist” now that Tony is gone and the next Tony Stark in a away with all the “good” he does just like Tony did with the foundations and donations and stuff. Not to mention Kingpin is a Spider-Man villain and moving forward the tower could be a way to connect Peter to Tony. Just like the arc reactor was in NWH (that thing better be safe I’m telling you)

Alchemax. And this is purely based on the fact that it was said in ATSV that every universe apparently had one. And this one could be own my Kingpin like who the one is Mike’s universe was

Oscorp. We need place from where the new Spider-Man villains come from and Oscorp buying the tower would be a perfect introduction to the MCU. And also because we’re done fighting the “Ironman villain” now so we need a new company to form villains and Oscorp is obviously perfect, especially since Stark Industries has stopped making weapons and are into clean stuff now. It would also be a great way to introduce Harry.

Either way I think who owns the Tower now will probably revealed in the next Spider-Man movies since Tom knows who bought it, unless it’s the Fantastic Four.
