Wow, 8 years already, huh? A trip down memory lane, shall we? 

8 years ago today, we were introduced to the 4 boys from Minnesota - Kendall Knight, James Diamond, Carlos Garcia and Logan Mitchell - who went from hockey players to a boyband. And of course, we’re all glad you guys became a band in real life too. 

4 seasons of show and a movie, with millions of viewers worldwide. 3 albums (ALL GOLD CERTIFIED) and going on tours (sadly, not exactly worldwide. I still wish we all Rushers will one day get the chance to watch you guys perform in real life). 

BTR was so underrated, and you guys deserved so much better. You were overlooked, time and again, but that didn’t matter to you guys, cos what you cared about was us, your Rushers. 

You guys were humble, down-to-earth, and you worked your butts off. Writing your own songs for 24/Seven, learning all that choreography, and Los, getting your directorial debut on Big Time Tour Bus. 

You taught me so many important lessons, and you made me who I am. You taught us to embrace our insecurities, to be ourselves, to do it Like Nobody’s Around. You reminded us that we’re Cover Girls (and boys), that we’re not alone, or Invisible.

But when you guys went on hiatus in 2014, everything changed. 

I actually didn’t really think it impacted me that much, but looking back, I think this was one of the main reasons that broke me. 

But it wasn’t just me too, was it? Hearing Los talk about this on DWTS really broke my heart.. I wish I noticed there was a change in him.. I wish I could have sent him support, as they always supported me. 

Having the one thing I dedicated my life to for 4 years suddenly just disappear, it was odd. I mean, you guys were still there, just pursuing your solo careers, in acting or music, but it was still different. 

It definitely made me close myself off more, and I just felt so lost without you guys. 

I keep telling myself I need to do some type of BTR therapy to remember everything you have taught me, to just find that part of me again. That happiness. 

I still haven’t gotten the chance to do that yet, but I will probably do it someday soon. I mean, just getting back to working on my BTR scrapbooking made me feel better, so I’ll probably do it more often now. 

And I’m learning to handle things better now. And I’m pretty sure all this happened for a reason. You guys going on break, plus everything else that piled on, it might have broke me, but it also awoken me. I see things clearer now, maybe a little too clear sometimes with all the overthinking, but it definitely made me change perspectives. I feel like I’m a more understanding person now. 

8 years later, you guys still have a way to make my day brighter. Just like today, woke up and was immediately noticed by James (he replied me on Insta for the first time). And last night Kames on #KoffeeWithKendall. 

The four of you will always be my sunshine in my darkest times. My superheroes. Supertastic Super 6 right (minus Gustavo and Kelly)? 

So thank you for everything. Thank you for the 4 years of show and music, laughter and tears, good times and bad. And for the next 4 years (well, about 3 for me, because Asia started later) of more music and shows from each of you. I’m so proud of how far all of you have come, especially just this year. MUSIC FROM ALL OF THEM. How great has it been?!

Of course, thank you for helping me find my other family in the Rusher fam, some of them I still talk to often, and others, well, we had some really great times too. 

I’m so thankful to have gotten the chance to see you guys perform irl, even though it wasn’t an actual concert, but that was still amazing. And getting to meet James and Los too, the best day of my life. 

I know most of us miss you guys as a group and we wish you guys would have a reunion someday soon, but I’m sure we’re all super proud of you guys and how far you’ve come from. 

So reunion or not, you will always have a supporter in me. Be it music, acting, or anything else (yes, Kendall, you and your business dreams, like you said yesterday), I will always support you.
