Your eyes take in the humongous structure in front of you, and you try your best to not look too awestruck. You aren’t sure how well that works out, considering you can hear your best friend muffling her laugh beside you, but you don’t bother to turn and check.

‘Pretty sure this isn’t the last time this is going to happen either.' You think, as you bite your lower lip and wipe your sweaty hands over the denim of your jeans.  

“Girl, you scored a jackpot.” Sunmi teases, her angelic yet somehow demonic at the same time, giggle following close after. 

You, in response side eye her and choose not to reply. What would you even say? Depending on who answers, the reply would differ anyways. 

Though you still aren’t sure what your answer would be.

Till a week ago you were just a 20-year-old university student, who while technically was said to be living with her father, at the end of the day virtually lived alone. 

Your father is a famous adventurer. You don’t know what that term entails precisely, but too scared of the possible connotations that it might bring forth, you avoid letting your curiosity run too deep. 

You think some part of it involves climbing and hiking mountains though. 

Has to be.

Soft piano spills from the phone in his hand. The calming music would most certainly have lulled you back to sleep had it not been for the shock of seeing Taehyung awake at 4 a.m., by choice. You watch him, curiosity piqued. He doesn’t seem upset, just awake, and you wonder what the reason could be. Taehyung drops his phone into his lap and throws his foot up on the desk, satin pajama pants sliding up his calf. The deep sigh he lets out when he drops his head back has you feeling his absence something awful.

An elbow nudging into your side pulled you back into consciousness, a small gasp leaving your mouth as you jerked your head back up. You gathered your surroundings haphazardly, a subtle frown finding your lips as you realized that you had somehow slept through your entire lecture, the shuffle of students as they began to gather their things and slide out the lecture hall greeting you.

“Morning, princess. Thought you’d never wake up.” The silvery voice of your best friend mocked.

Turning towards Jungkook, you furthered your frown, a small sound of annoyance escaping you.

“How did we end up with a verbal laxative as a professor?”

The brown-haired boy let out an attractive laugh, reaching over as he began to pack his things.

“He’s not that bad. This lecture was actually interesting – if you had only stayed awake long enough to notice.” He countered.

You sighed, moving to mirror your best friend’s actions, “Ugh, sorry, sorry. I haven’t been sleeping much lately…” You threw your bag over your shoulder, making your way down and across the room, your loyal guard dog trailing closely behind you.

You held back a snicker at your own thoughts.

Although Jungkook had explicitly told you that he wasn’t fond of the dog comparison, it didn’t change the fact that he did keep you within arms reach at all times. You weren’t too fussed. You knew it was his alpha nature that couldn’t help but follow his omega best friend close.
