To all my American friends, the time is now.
Please, execute a BOMBARDMENT. Call your representatives!
Also yes, that's Riyuu's eye. The star pupil is an actual design thing and not just an expression she's making. It looks better on pencil tho I'm too used to drawing pencil aaibdkxnsjs

I'm still trying to get used to acryllics... It looks a bit messy but considering my og skills this is probably the furthest I'll go rn

scrungly papercraft don carousel
Throwing another one out there, what if Boboiboy has DID. Like. With the amount of shit he goes through he has to have some way of coping. And with the elementals having different personalities, I think this is plausible enough. I don't have DID though so if this is impossible I will concede but for now I'm going to think about a BBB with DID.
I don't know if anyone else has a different theory, but the series would go really differently if Boboiboy wasn't the first one to discover Ochobot
Like granted, yes obviously it would be different, but how different? Well, I have a theory, I'm not sure if it's disproven yet or not, but I have a theory.
The 2nd Movie tells us that BBB's elemental powers are not originally his, right? Yaya, Ying, and Fang are powers Ochobot granted too, but they're never really explained, it just shows as something that suits each character.
My theory is that Ochobot doesn't really give powers, but rather, gives the watch, the watch takes a part of the user, and "crystalizes" as a power. In other words, he doesn't choose to give powers, but the power morphs itself according to the user.
So BBB only happened to get his elemental powers from the fact that he's the first to meet Ochobot. My other theory that's related to this one is that his actual powers are basic self-splitting, not Elemental powers unlike what we've believed. Ochobot simply gave him those because he was the first to meet Ochobot. Why else does Retak'ka never even tries to split himself? It's just not a power that comes from the elementals, but a power unique to Boboiboy himself.
With this too, it makes sense why no other elemental user has known about fusion. It's not even possible for them. They can't split themselves, so they can't combine themselves either. To analogize it:
Imagine water. Water represents an elemental user. Now imagine rocks, each a different colour. Each rock represents the elemental powers themselves. When a user uses an elemental power, you throw a rock in, and you freeze the water. Even if you try to throw another rock in, it wont work, because the water is frozen.
Meanwhile, Bobooboy has the power to basically summon another cup, and put water and rocks in each, then freeze. So even after freezing, you can take one of the blocks of ice, dump them in with the other, and boom. Fusion.
So if Ochobot saw Adu-du first instead of BBB, well. He wouldn't get the split thing BBB's famous for but he almost definitely would get the Elementals. I just think Boboiboy never split himself for more than the amount of elementals he has because he needs to associate something with each split to work and he already associates the split thing with elemental powers too much for him to try without it.
things about the Boboiboy series that drive me NUTS (this list is written solely from memory)
the fact that the first three elements, Wind, Earth, and Lightning, didn't really start out as having different personality's from Boboiboy himself (at least, not by much/it wasn't extremely noticable) but then, Lightning, after being split for too long, losing his memories completely, and achieving tier 2, becoming Thunderstorm, suddenly goes all Edgy(TM). and then Wind eats a mood-changing potion and goes manic, and not only does that unlock his tier 2, making him Cyclone but that becomes his personality. like. hello??? the implications.... and then later on, Fire, Water, Leaf, and Light manifest WITH their personalities pre-set. what??? the vague implication that the elements are sentient and the personalities started becoming more obvious when Boboiboy's mind started slipping/letting them have freer reign haunts me every day.
speaking of Fire's manifestation. he initially manifested from the stress of exams and walked around accidentally burning shit down in the middle of the night. what a mood tbh.
if the elements are sentient, the implications of Retak'ka stealing them from Boboiboy and using them- without having his personality change, is INSANE. like bro. he used them as a weapon instead of letting them be actual people..... and then later on in the comics Thunderstorm gets taken away AGAIN and is trapped in a sword, a literal weapon, and is used. again. HELLO????
both of the first times Thunderstorm gets summoned (both the obvious first time and the first time after they all got reset to tier 1 due to Complications) involving his phobia kills me every time why the FUCK did they do that. they didn't even address it the second time around but they animated Lightning looking like he was in distress anyways. WHY DID THEY DO THAT TO HIM. i know he's the fave but like. was this necessary.
BOBOIBOY JUST DECIDING "Y'KNOW WHAT??? I'M GONNA INVENT FUSIONS NOW HERE WE GO" IN THE SECOND MOVIE AND PROCEEDING TO ABSOLUTELY WIPE THE FLOOR WITH RETAK'KA
i could list so much Thunderstorm stuff tbh he's definitely the fave they give him so many cool bits of animation. he does the "teleports behind you" move SO OFTEN and it's SO GOOD
Leaf's deadpan "Fashion Tragedy" line
that one time Boboiboy split into Fire, Wind, and Leaf, and EVERYONE agreed he shouldn't have done that and should never do it again cause those three have negative braincells when in a group together
the songs??? like. the opening songs. the insert songs used in the movies. the OST. why the hell are they so good. i mean i know i personally like em cause they tend to use rock. but like. its SO GOOD.
Yaya and Ying being arguably the two most powerful/capable members of the friend group as they should
that one time Thunderstorm and Fang fought and they paused right before hitting each other and the objects behind both of them exploded from the force of the other's attack
in the first movie when it hinted that we'd see Boboiboy without his hat for the first time ever throughout the entire movie and then it FINALLY HAPPENED when he caught a giant hammer right before it could hit him and punched the dude away with a blast of energy. he has a white streak in his hair and it's visible in the series from this point onwards.
I KNOW IVE SAID A LOT OF THUNDERSTORM SCENES BUT THAT POINT IN GALAXY WHERE HE WAS USING TIER 2 BEFORE HE SHOULD'VE BEEN USING IT AND HE KEPT SWAPPING IN BETWEEN BOBOIBOY AND THUNDERSTORM THROUGHOUT THE FIGHT??? THAT WAS COOL AS FUCK I LOVED THAT
i could list so many of the really cool shots from this series tbh. that one time Light slow-mo backflipped over a bunch of debris and then activated laser eyes to shoot at the villain is a highlight.
literally everything about the fact the plot of this show went from "aliens come to earth to steal chocolate" to "boboiboy nearly fucking dies on an almost daily basis"

visualizing my fanfic lol, been writing a lot lately, and I thought maybe I should try drawing again.
It's basically just an inspo fic from another amnesia fic I read, which you should check out too! It's called Family(y)iar by StrawDrerry.
If you want to know more about the fic you can just check it out on my ao3, it's called I missed you but who are you?
EXACTLY
Thank you so much for this. This is literally what keeps getting shown in the series as a whole. The elementals are most definitely not just Boboiboy in a different costume. Monsta might say that they are, but canon literally hinges on the fact that they are, in fact, not just BBB in a diff costume.
That statement might be true to an extent for Level 1 of his powers, but even then you can see the influence the elements has on his personality. Even in the og show, Earth, who's universally agreed and shown to be the most similar to og BBB, has slightly different tendencies compared to og BBB.
And like. You can't look me in the eye and tell me that Thunder (I'll just call him Hali, Thunder feels weird) is the same person as og Boboiboy. You think og BBB will act like that? When he's never acted like that outside of his personality as Hali? And in that same sentence, tell me that Hali and Thorn are the same person. You can't. You just can't. Or Blaze, the crackhead overenergetic menace, with the chill and lazy Ice. You just. Can't. I don't know about the fusions, but as far as the separate elementals are concerned, they're definitely different people.
To expand on the theory itself, I think the emotions are directly linked to the powers of the elementals, so, the more power you use from it, the more the emotions of the powers take over and control the user. Since BBB also splits himself according to the elements, I think those elemental's also split BBB's rationality and og personality, and this also explains why Boboiboy gets memory loss when split for too long. The elements kinda take over too much, and the og's memory gets locked up by the elementals.
The Sentience of the Elementals
As much as MONSTA claims the Elementals aren't alive, it's a popular fandom-wide HC-mainly because if it's not canon, then canon falls apart.
'Retak'ka was corrupted by his power and greed' 'The Voltra power corrupted Kira'na and began to drive her insane' These are canon happenings that directly resulted because of the Elementals' interference.
And sure, it can be argued that they would have been corrupted without the power anyway. But canon points to otherwise-especially when you take into account who holds the Elementals most of the time. Out-of-character things for Boboiboy are in-character for the Elementals, and that points to them being separate people rather than the same person, different clothes.
Yet, at the same time, if the Elementals can truly possess their wielders, then there are some disturbing implications about Retak'ka and Kira'na 'insanity'. Because that hints the powers that Boboiboy uses for good have actually manipulated others into evil.
Hence my current theory on the Elementals' true sentience.
The Elementals are alive, but not completely sentient.
So explanation time-remember Beliung's manic episodes? My current theory is that the Elementals are alive, but alive in the way an animal might be-definitely living, definitely alive, just not really able to think intelligently. Because each time someone has 'lost control', it's been associated with emotions. Kira'na's rage at Retak'ka. Retak'ka's greed. Beliung's manic happiness. Blaze and Ais ran on emotion during their fight on Baraju.
But. This actually changes depending on their host.
Think of it this way-without Boboiboy, the Elementals are just pure, raw elements and emotion. When he is their wielder, they take the form he does-gaining sentience, intelligence, separate personalities and their emotions being better reigned in. However, this is also because Boboiboy recognizes they are alive, and is thus able to subsequently grant them that autonomy and intelligence. Without that recognition, they are just bundles of raw emotion.
Hence why Retak'ka and Kira'na were overtaken.
Gamma didn't mean to overtake Retak'ka. Voltra didn't want Kira'na to attack so many people. But without the recognition of their holders, they are just emotions lashing out without a proper sentience or intelligence to direct them.
So I fixed the theory. This is my personal one yay.
