my mom gifted me my baby for my 8th birthday, when i was only a second grader. i was scared of dogs, but Katy helped me overcome this fear. she would always excitedly greet me after a long day at school, comfort me whenever i felt down, and share my happiness, even if she didn't understand what im celebrating

now i'm turning 18, i finished school a few years ago, got on antidepressants, and moved to another country. she's 10, she got grey hairs on her muzzle, she doesn't like taking such long walks anymore, she can't go up stairs as swiftly as before. and yet, she always comes running to me if she hears that im crying, she wiggles her tail and jumps as eagerly as she did as a puppy when i come home

we all are finite. i know that. one day i'll have to say goodbye to my sunshine. but i'm willing to fight as long as possible

i call it "semi-emergency" because my family has money to provide her with the healthcare she needs. we won't go homeless, we won't starve. but we'll have to cut corners. and at the time like this, i would really like to help my mom

as of now, this is my only income possibility, because i'm fighting mental illness. my meds aren't cheap either. i just want to be less of a burden, you know...
