can you Write a scenario in demon slayer on how each character would react if y/n had the ability to use her rare blood type to fully turn anyone back to human. How would each hashira react in this situation at the hashira meeting by ubuyashiki. And what would be there plans be for her? This is also including muzan as at some point a demon will report of this new finding.
Alright! This is the first kind of ask I've received like this. I'm not sure how well it's going to go, lol, but I'm going to do my best! Thanks for asking and I hope you like it! (I haven't written for them in a while so please lmk what you think)
Rating: T Pairings: None (mention of canon pairings) Warnings: Death threats (from Muzan), slight swearing. Suggested consensual experimentation? Unbeta'd Also, there are references to canon backstories but no major details
Before the Meeting:
You stand to the side, waiting.Â
You hadnât entirely planned for your ability to be revealed, you didnât even know it existed until the attack, but after the demon and its sudden and confusing transformation, you couldnât ignore what happened. You couldnât ignore that they needed help.Â
One of the demon slayers who found you in the aftermath brought you to meet the Ubuyashiki family and the leader of the Slayers. In that meeting, you learned everything and he reveals to you that you had the potential to change the world in their favour. As terrifying as it is, you could save people. The Ubuyashikiâs look at you as if youâre a saviour. Honestly? You have no clue what youâre doing.Â
That doesnât stop him from calling a meeting of the Hashira, the strongest slayers of their time. If anyone is going to help you achieve this new goal of theirs, itâs them. So you wait, trying not to fidget in your nervousness as you feel their gazes on you before Ubuyashiki arrives.
The Reactions:

Sanemi
Itâs strange for them to be called this soon and he hasnât taken his eyes off of you. Youâre a stranger and despite knowing you could only be here with permission. He doesnât trust it but he waits. Heâll hear it from the master himself.Â
Youâre introduced and honestly? Heâs confused. Itâs not possible. It shouldnât be possible and if it was anyone except the Master, he wouldnât believe it. He still doesnât believe it.Â
âNot that I am doubting you, Master,â he calls out. âBut you canât expect us to believe this without proof.âÂ
âOf course, I wouldnât, my children, but I do ask that you trust me. Their abilities have been seen by multiple slayers in the incident it was revealed.âÂ
âTch,â he mutters but he nods.Â
Itâs fine. Heâll keep an eye on them. Maybe if their blood actually works, they can get rid of Muzan and Genya will finally be fucking safe.

Shinobu
Shinobu is aware of the stranger but isnât concerned. You wouldnât be here unless you served a purpose and when youâre finally introduced, sheâs fascinated.Â
Thereâs never been a recorded case of someone with the ability to transform a demon into a human, the complete opposite of Muzan and his creatures' abilities. Itâs fascinating and the first thing sheâs going to do once this meeting is over is make sure you return with her to the Butterfly Mansion. She needs to compare your blood to a regular human's and see if there is any difference. There has to be a way to measure the ability.Â
She wonders if Wisteria would have any effect on you and sheâs already calculating the tests she can do. As Master Ubuyashiki replies to Sanemi, it occurs to herâŚcould your blood help him? Could it stop the illness or remove it completely? She needs to look into this.Â

Tengen
âHow flashy!âÂ
Tengen has never heard of anything like your ability in his life, but he canât wait to see it in action. He knows itâs bound to be spectacular. He can hear the way your heartbeat increases the longer you stand there under their speculative gazes and he offers his compliments in order to help ease the stress. It doesnât seem to work but you nod back to him and smile. Rengokuâs additional praise seems to fluster you further under the attention. Tengen just laughs and tells his friend that the end might actually be in sight.Â
He knows heâs not wrong. It would be an incredible thing to see and if itâs true, they need to keep you safe. Shinobu will likely figure out some plan to use your ability without putting you in danger and if they can completely eradicate the demons? Itâll be a flamboyant end. Perhaps then he can keep Hinataâs promise and get the chance to live with his wives in peace. The way they deserve.Â

Kyojuro
Itâs unusual for a Hashira meeting to be called so soon. He can admit that his curiosity is piqued at your presence but he can wait until itâs satisfied. Whatever he was expecting, it is not the news that their master presented. An ability to transform a demon back into a human? It seems impossible but if that master agrees, he can only imagine the possibilities. The idea that Senjuro may not feel the need to follow him into this danger is enough to fuel his desire for this to be the truth.Â
He is unashamed as he gazes at you, taking in your countenance and stance. Youâre untrained. He can see it as clearly as he sees the determination in your eyes. Itâs admirable. The path ahead of you will be dangerous but you are a spark of hope that he can fan into a blaze. Youâre untrained but not for long. Heâll ensure you have the skill to survive. Whatever it takes.

Giyuu
It seems like a dream when Master Ubuyashiki informs them of the reason for your presence. Heâs not sure whatâs more surprising. The news of your ability or the relief that sets in his chest at the fact that you can turn Nezuko back and save him and Master Urookodaki from needing to fulfill their promise. He doesnât regret the choice he made but he wants to keep his Master from needing to keep it.Â
He glances at you out of the corner of his eye and wonders how you came to be here. Who did you lose to find out you were capable of such things? Did you hold the same guilt he has about being too late? He hopes not. It may seem like a cruel thing for the world to give you this, but the potential is worth it. It has to be. Heâll help as much as he can.

Muichiro
Muichiro is listening. He is. But he canât help his thoughts from wandering as he processes the news. Were you like a demon? It sounds like a blood demon art but youâre standing in the sun so it canât be that. Maybe something else? What else could do that? His gaze wanders to the clouds as he thinks. One of them looks like a rice ball. OrâŚa cat?Â
The Master called them here because of you but you havenât spoken. Heâs not sure if itâs true or not but if that master says it is, it is. He can trust that.Â
He continues listening, even as he decides that the cloud is more of a frog now.

Obanai
His eyes narrow as he watches you. It seems convenient that youâve emerged now. First the demon in a box and now this. Itâs suspicious in his opinion. Still, he wonât go against Master Ubuyashikiâs orders. If he believes you can help, then Obanai will wait and see. He doesn't believe it, not until he sees it for himself, but heâll let you be.Â
That doesnât mean that he wonât keep an eye on you though. He doesnât trust you, no matter what the Master says. Youâre a stranger and he wouldnât be surprised if this was some elaborate trap. He knows you canât always trust humans, even when you want to. So heâll wait and heâll make sure you donât get the chance to spring the trap. Heâll keep his comrades safe. Especially Mitsuri. He already knows that sheâs dying to meet you properly. Heâll be right there with her when she does. Just in case.

Mitsuri
The news is a surprise, but Mitsuri canât help but be excited! This was the best thing sheâs heard. She loves being a demon slayer, and she loves her friends that sheâs made but this could change everything! People would be saved! Itâs the best thing sheâs heard at one of these meetings, even with the last one where she met the adorable Tanjiro and his sister. The fact that you want to help? Itâs wonderful.Â
You look a little scared though and itâs enough to make her want to reach out and comfort you. It must be intimidating to be faced with them, even if Mitsuri knows theyâre not scary. Not really. Still, she makes up her mind quickly. Sheâs going to properly introduce herself after the meeting. Sheâll even drag Obanai with her. The three of you will be great friends, she just knows it!

Gyomei
He murmurs prayers at the news. Itâs fantastic but his heart canât help but mourn for the tragedy you must have faced in your discovery. His eyes fill with tears that donât hesitate to fall. It must have terrified you and to think, you have a bright soul that has still made the choice to help others. Itâs commendable. It is tragic. And yet, he feels only hope as you are discussed.Â
He doesn't know how itâs possible, but he prays and gives his thanks that theyâve found you. That they are given this chance to protect you as you help them save people. It is a worthwhile effort and one that he will not waste. He could not save the children under his protection and he holds no grudge against the choices that were made, but he will do better now. He will help you reach your potential and save all that you can.Â
Plus!

Muzan
When Muzan hears the news of you, he laughs. It cannot be real. There are none but him who can change a being into another. And yetâŚhe feels the disconnection. He knows that he is losing demons as fast as he can replace them. Itâs strange. Theyâre not dead, but they are gone.Â
There are no recorded incidents about being able to turn demons into humans, but Muazn isnât stupid. There were none that did the opposite before him. He sets out his demands, giving the orders to his Upper Moons. Bring you to him. He wants to see if itâs true and if it is? Well, he wants to see what else youâre capable of. Maybe you can do more. If your blood can turn a demon into a human, could a diluted form give him the ability to walk in the sun like he wants? Think of the possibilities.Â
And if not? Heâll satisfy his curiosity and make sure to kill you himself.

Could you please write about the Harbingers and their voice lines for the reader? Like them telling the traveler about you and stuff :)
âĄđđđŤđđ˘đ§đ đđŤđŹâ đđ¨đ˘đđđĽđ˘đ§đđŹ đđđ¨đŽđ đđ¨đŽ âĄ

synopsis: The Traveler expected the Harbingers to be cold and ruthless in pursuing whatever the Fatui's goals were. Hearing their loving voice lines on you was certainly the opposite of what they predicted.
includes: all harbingers (platonic pulcinella) w/ gn! reader
notes: I've wanted to do something like this for a while. It was rather cute and fun to write! Includes five voice lines about you for each Harbinger.

Pierro:
About You - His Lover:
âSo youâve already met [Name], Traveler? Iâm not surprised, they like to talk to people, especially when they see me speaking to others. Theyâre quite energetic and bouncy, arenât they? But I canât say I dislike that about them. They are a bright light in my life.â
Chat - Walks:
âMuch of our time spent together is on walks outside in Sneznhaya, with the snow gently melting on us. Itâs a rather simple activity to most, but irreplaceable to both of us. I hope, after everything is said and done, I can take them on walks in other places.â
About Your Patience:
âThey never comment on it, but I know they get lonely without me. For most of the day, they do not see me due to my work, and even when they try to stay up late for my return, they end up falling asleep sometimes. I truly wish I could spend more time with them. But I know, after fulfilling the Tsaritsaâs dream, I will give them everything and more.â
Something To Share - Meals:
âI donât think about what I eat or when I do very often. It doesnât matter much to me, but [Name] clearly disagrees. Instead of the maids preparing my meals, they started cooking everything for me and adding little notes too. Itâs very endearing of them, but I donât think Iâll ever live it down when the other soldiers saw me eating heart-shaped cookies with smiley faces on themâŚâ
About You - A Second Home:
âI remember the destruction of my homeland clearly. It is something I will never forget. But even though I have only a small portion of time with them, they never fail to make me feel⌠content. With them, I can forget about everything, even if it is just for a few minutes. Heh, sometimes I foolishly wish they lived in Khaenriâah with me for a bit, if only to experience a normal life with them.â
Capitano:
About You - His Lover:
âThere is nothing I cherish more than [Name]. Many people often comment on our relationship, after all, we are quite different in all aspects. But I have them to thank for many things. They have taught me many things I could have never learned on my own.
Chat - Souvenirs:
âTraveler, you have been to many nations for extended periods of time. Would you share some items that would make good souvenirs? I always make sure to bring something back for them. If you have any recipes to share, that would be greatly appreciated as well. Whenever I am back home, [Name] always insists on having all of our meals together.â
A Special Item - The Kamera:
âYou must be wondering why someone like me carries around something like this. I never cared for the device until [Name] told me about it and asked me to take photos on my expeditions. I guess Iâve unintentionally become a master without knowing it because they always praise the pictures I take when they organize them in their scrapbook.â
Something To Share - Smiles:
âI am not adept at smiling at all, or very expressive in general, something [Name] has an issue with. Oftentimes, they sit on my lap and try to get me to show some emotion on my face. Reading stories, telling jokes⌠they try it all quite frequently. While I donât think itâs working very well, I enjoy their antics.â
About You - Reminiscing:
âI remember once I walked in on them trying on my helmet and coat. They hadnât noticed me yet, and I couldnât help but notice how small they looked buried under my clothes. But quickly I worried about whether their head could take the weight of my helmet. Before I could say anything, they saw me and scurried away in embarrassment. I never brought it up again, but it was rather cute.â
âHuh⌠Paimon would have never guessed Capitano was like this. When we go to Snezhnaya, we have to find this guyâs mansion somehow! Paimon wants to meet [Name]!â
Columbina:
About You - Her Lover:
âHmm~hmm~⍠Oh, hello there, Traveler. Ah, I see youâve brought [Name] with you too, come here, my dear. Hmm? Oh, I guess I forgot to tell you. They are my partner in love, music, in everything. Perhaps you should come to one of our shows one day. Iâd say we are quite good.â
About You - Favorite Pastimes:
âI love going to watch plays with them. The theater is one of the places where we spend a lot of time. I always end up humming along to the songs. Sometimes, when the theater is unoccupied, we act out certain scenes together. Say, Traveler, have you ever heard of Romeo and Juliet?â
Chat - Naps:
âHmm⌠what time is it? The weather just feels perfect for a midday nap. [Name] always indulges me whenever I want when I want to doze off. This surface is no match for their pillowy softness, but itâll have to do for nowâŚâ
âHey, you canât just fall asleep in the middle of- oh⌠Paimon doesnât know how she can knock out that quickly.â
Secret Hobby - Poems About You:
âYour bright smile that can go on for a mile,
Unmatchable style with a laugh that never ends for a while.
Sweet lips that I want to savor,
Ah, I am so glad I am in your favor.
Or should I say âFor you make me ever the more braverâ...? What do you think, Traveler?â
Something Interesting - Liyue Opera:
âTraveler, I hear that there is a talented opera troupe in Liyue with beautiful music and songs. Oh, youâve met them yourself? I would love to attend it with [Name]. They love listening to music from around Teyvat, and I have to agree with them. Haha⌠I canât wait to take them out of Snezhnaya for a bit.â
Dottore:
About You - His Lover:
âHmph, you wish to know about [Name], I hear?â
âYeah! Paimon wants to know what kind of person would stay with a madman- I mean! A Fatui Harbinger! You know, since thatâs quite dangerous and all.â
âHehe, is that so? Too bad, because I have no obligation to tell you. But they are truly⌠ah, never mind.â
âAww⌠Paimon really wanted to know what he was going to say.â
About You And The Segments:
âSome of the segments are quite fond of them, while some do not know them very well. After all, they were cloned at different parts of my life, before and after I met them. I must say⌠itâs can be hard to get some of the other segments away from them. I didnât think they would hoard [Name]âs attention so muchâŚâ
âIs it just Paimon, or does Dottoreâs attentiveness towards them grow as each clone gets older? And hey, is Dottore jealous-â
âShush Paimon, before he hears you!â
About You - Whereabouts:
"It's time for their medicine... Hmm, have you seen them, Traveler? You saw them leave and go into the city? And you didn't stop them? Tch, useless. I must simply go and find them myself... Now that I think about it, I wouldn't want you talking to [Name], anyway."
About You - Health Concerns:
âEver since our Akademiya days, [Name] has been plagued with an unknown and virtually incurable disease. It is essential that they take their medicine every day, but they often try to avoid it, after doing it for so long. This is why I and the clones always keep an eye on them.â
âAw, so thatâs why [Name] always looks so tired whenever Paimon sees them⌠That must be so hard.â
â⌠I donât care what methods or tactics I have to employ, or if the Gods or even you, Traveler, get in my way. I will cure them of their sickness. Nothing will stop me.â
When The Sun Is Out:
âHm, itâs a perfect day for [Name] to take a walk. The fresh air is always good for their health. Perhaps a boat ride is in order as well.â
âOooh, Paimon loves the sound of that! Maybe we can fish and eat it too!â
âWhy would I ever invite you to be with us? Iâm sure your very existence would give them a headache.â
âHey, how rude!!â
Pulcinella:
About You - Relationship:
âYou were fighting some hilichurls when someone called [Name] joined you? And they ended up lighting an explosive barrel? Wherever that child goes, they always bring trouble with them. But donât hold it against them. They are a lovely person to be around.â
Stories To Tell:
âThey always pester me to tell them stories. Though, this is not a bad thing at all. Not many are willing to listen to this old man ramble on willingly. Ah, youth is a wonderful thing. Would you like to join us next time, Traveler?â
Chat - New Things:
âIndeed, they have taught me many things. The latest trends, songs, books, and more that their generation is into. Sometimes I struggle to understand some of what they say too⌠the world is changing so quickly.â
About You - Baking:
âWe bake together quite often. Most of the time, I have to direct them, otherwise, they will burn down the kitchen which has happened multiple times before. Pantalone was not happy. I have never seen a youngster with such little aptitude for cooking, but surprisingly, it is great fun.â
About You - Family:
âEver since they were young, they were quite rebellious. Running away from the castle, pretending to be asleep after bedtime, beating up all the Fatui soldiers during sparring without hesitance. If anyone else besides me had to take care of them, it would not have ended well. But, I am truly glad they are in my care. I have thought of them as my own child for a long time. If it wasnât for the possible danger, Iâd have officially adopted them long ago.â
Scaramouche:
About You - His Lover:
âHuh? How do you know about [Name]?â
âWell, we just happened to see them with you once. You were actually smiling! And later we went up and spoke to them for a bit, and they were really nice! They told us that they were your-â
âUgh, that idiot! Always trusting people so blindly⌠Anyway, I donât need you to know anything else. It isnât your business.âÂ
A Little Secret:
âI wonder if they could make dango for me again⌠itâs been a long time since Iâve had it. But how do I get them to make it without directly asking? How bothersome⌠huh? How long have you been there, Traveler? You didnât hear anything, did you?!â
Something To Share - Burdened Feelings:
âI once tried to wipe my emotions and feelings of them away into nothingness. It felt preposterous to me that I could feel something for a human, one that could barely fight nonetheless. But when I lost the Gnosis, when I lost everything, as I fell down, the only thing that I saw in my mind was their stupid smileâŚâ
When It Rains:
âWhenever it rained, they would always huddle themselves close to me under my hat. At first, I pushed them away, but the look on their face made me allow them to continue. Sometimes, I make sure to take them out on a day thatâs expected to rain just to see them do that. Donât you dare tell them that though, Traveler.â
About Beelzebul:
â[Name] is always telling me to reconcile with her, but what would she think of me, or of them? How would she act toward me? Would she even remember me? Thereâs that irritating shrine maiden too⌠Hmm? Itâs nothing. Letâs keep moving.â
Arlecchino:
About You - Her Lover:
â[Name]? Yes, they are my partner. I suppose those Fatui recruits canât keep their mouths shut about other peopleâs business for very long. Hmm? Youâre surprised that I was so direct about it? Well, thereâs no reason to hide it. But I would prefer that this discussion ends here. I like to keep my time with them private.â
When Itâs Sunny:
âThis weather is not my favorite. I prefer the cold much more than this blistering heat. But I did hear [Name] say that they would like to visit a beach someday. Hmm⌠say, Traveler, is Yaoguang Shoal a good spot?â
Something To Share - Quietly Loving:
âIâm sure you have realized by now that I am not very good with words or emotions. These things are far from my expertise. However, they seem to not mind my behavior, talking enough for both of us. But if they ever requested anything from me, I would do it without hesitance. No one else comes close.â
Chat - Coffee:
âOne cup of coffee, with whipped cream, syrup, and sugar please.â
ââŚEh?!! Arlecchino, what are you saying? You always order your coffee black!â
âI know. To be honest, I could not care less about all these extra ingredients. But⌠they always used to try and add things to sweeten the drink behind my back. I suppose I⌠miss them. This reminds me of them, a bit.â
âAww⌠Paimon guesses that even the scariest and coldest of people can have someone special to them.â
About You - The Orphanage:
âThey often spend their time with the orphans. I was initially surprised at first, and so were the other soldiers, but it worked out in our favor. The children love them far more than they will for me or the recruits. [Name] is a gentle and patient soul, after all. Reading stories, putting the kids to sleep⌠they are quite hard working despite having no need to.â
La Signora:
About You - Her Lover:
âMy darling [Name] is the most perfect lover one could ask for. They are beautiful, inside and out. How I love to pamper them so⌠actually, there are a couple of new outfits I want them to try on. I canât wait to see how they look. They are all mine.â
When Itâs Windy:
âTch, this wind is messing up my hair and clothes. [Name] used to always brush and take care of my hair after a long day, after I showed them how to do it correctly of course. Traveler, Iâm afraid I have to go now. I must see them again.â
About You - Letters:
âHmm, hmm, hmm⌠and itâs done.â
âHey Signora, what are you writing?â
âJust a letter to my dearest. They are expecting something from me soon.â
âWow, so you can send letters with your fire moths? Thatâs resourceful!â
âOf course. I always let a few stay around [Name] as well. If any of them happen to be extinguished, Iâll know if anything happened to them.â
About You - Favorite Pastimes:
âThereâs nothing that pleases me more than seeing them all dolled up in the latest fashion. They look simply exquisite, especially when we do each otherâs makeup. But I also adore seeing them lounge around in their favorite hoodies. They look great in anything, really.â
Something To Share - Past Grief, New Happiness:
âSometimes, it feels just like yesterday when I lost him. Grief and bitterness wrapped around my heart like a cocoon that would never hatch. But when I fell in love with them, I felt something that I had not felt in far too long. That cocoon started to shatter little by little, as I started to remember how to love again. I truly love them wholly with whateverâs remaining of my heart.â
Pantalone:
About You - His Lover:
âSo, youâve met [Name], I hear. What do you think of them? Beautiful, am I right? Of course, they are nothing short of perfection to me. Hardworking, determined, helpful⌠I could go on about them. Say, Traveler, would you be so kind to direct me to some of the best shops around here? I would like to find some gifts to send to them while weâre here.â
Worries - Financial Concerns:
âTraveler, I have a great issue on my hands. [Name] has apparently forbidden me from spending any more Mora on them. They keep saying that they do not need anything else, but how can I restrain myself from spoiling my darling?â
About You - Favorite Pastimes:
âOftentimes, we like to end off the day with some leisurely reading. The feeling of them laying against my chest, legs intertwined, as I whisper certain parts of the book softly into their ear, delighting as they turn warm- oho, your face is all red. Did I make you embarrassed? Apologies, I get carried away when talking about them.â
About You - First Meeting:
âMy childhood is not something that I like to remember. But, despite everything, it is pleasant to think about the first time I met them. They were poor, just like me, barely scraping by, though they never failed to greet me every day with a big smile. [Name] would take over the grueling working shifts for me and the younger kids sometimes, and sneak bits of food out the window to me. Even with the fact that I was surrounded by poverty, I couldnât help but think I had a true gem right in front of me. â
When Itâs Cold:
âI confess, I do enjoy the cold, but most of it is due to how adorable [Name] looks all bundled up in my fur coats. Or how they always dive under the covers and refuse to get up for anything. It is always a struggle for even me to get up from bed when they are so warm, too.â
Sandrone:
About You - Her Lover:
âThey are my loyal assistant and lover, always willing to help out with any experiment I ask. I have known them for a very long time. They have always been the one to drag me out of the lab to get some fresh air⌠as a matter of fact, I think itâs about this time when they come to harass me. Somehow theyâve gotten half the robots on their side, too.â
When Itâs Raining:
âThis weather is good for testing how waterproof my robots are and the joints of my Automatons. A long time ago, I built a feature for an umbrella into some of my creations so whenever [Name] and I went for walks and it rained, we would be fine. Huh, youâre asking if you can use it? No, you canât.â
About You - Favorite Pastimes:
âEh? Sandrone, what is all this? Youâre all dressed up!â
âOh, itâs you. Iâm simply preparing for my favorite event with my dear lover. Weâve just finished repairing an ancient Automaton, and theyâve decided a tea party is in order.â
âWow! Even the robots have spiffy suits on! It smells so good here too, hehe, Paimon wants a taste of the tea and cookies too- w-woah! Whereâd all these big robots come from?! Hey, let Paimon down!â
âThis is for [Name] and I only. Now shoo. The tea party is set to begin soon, and I must welcome my honored guestâŚâ
Inspiration - New Creations:
âBefore I met them, I had never thought of using my skills to create mundane things that werenât war machines or destructive Automatons. I thought anything else would be a waste of time, but surprisingly, it is not too bad. Itâs quite nice to feel their fascinated face in the crook of my neck while I work. I usually gift these creations to them, anyway. Theyâre not much use to me, but [Name] likes these kinds of things.â
The Future - Fontaine Frenzy:
âI hear that I am set to head out to Fontaine soon. I would love to see the faces of those poor souls when they realize their technology is nothing compared to what the Fatui has created. Ah, I guess that means Iâll be seeing you there too. Will you be able to keep up with [Name] and I, Traveler? I must warn you, they are a formidable foe, with their refined skill and raw power from my mechanical attachments. Now that I think about there, there were some new weapons we wanted to try out⌠hehe, I canât wait.âÂ
Childe:
About You - His Lover:
âOho, interested in [Name] are you? I donât blame you - they are truly an amazing person. Sweet, kind, and caring, not to mention, they are incredibly strong as well. Teucer loves them too, always wanting piggyback rides. I canât wait to introduce them to the rest of my family.â
About You - First Meeting:
âI clearly remember the first time I laid eyes on them. I was passing through Liyue when I heard of an archery competition, and naturally, I was eager to test my skills. I was sure that I would win first place, but what did you know! Someone called [Name] had stolen that spot from me. Long story short, I pestered them until they fought me, and they really did beat me down. Haha, it feels so long ago, now that I look back on it.â
When It Snows:
âI once took [Name] to Dragonspine, because they wanted to see the snow as it was a rare occurrence in Liyue. You should have seen them, hah! Shaking and sniffling like it was the end of the world. And it wasnât even that cold, as least compared to my homeland. Why didnât I take them to Snezhnaya? Donât worry, I plan to, very, very soonâŚ
About You - Whereabouts:
"Have you seen them, Traveler? No? Haha, they must be hiding from me again. I guess Iâve asked them to spar too many times. Comrade, if you happen to see [Name], tell them Iâm waiting at Northland Bank for them. Xinyue Kiosk, my treat.â
About You - Safety:
âHeh, I wonder what theyâre doing right now. I hope they havenât been roped into any strange commissions again. They are too helpful for their own good. If anything happened to them while Iâm gone⌠Traveler, if you happen to be around, please help them. Iâll owe you, comrade.â

CW. REPOST bc it wasnât showing in tags, possibly ooc (fontaine characters), written BEFORE fontaineâs release, non-established relationships, this was written at 1 in the morning, not proofread, 1.3k words.
EXTRA. this was inspired by our dearest @/seelestia <3 (psst, hi lia!! i finally wrote something sxjksjsj đŠľ)
GENRE. fluff, with bits of angst (depending on the character)

WANTING, NEEDING YOUR PRESENCE ALL THE TIME.
FURINA first realizes sheâs in love when she finds herself wanting, no.. needing your presence all the time. You were one of the only people who could handle her âhystericsâ, a trait only the most worthy people could have (in Neuvilletteâs words). Whenever she stands in the courtroom, a part of her wishes you were there, with you aroundâ the trials are a little less boring and a little more tolerable. Whenever she eats all on her lonesome, she wishes you were across from her table; waiting to ask her how her day went and receiving nothing but complaints of how uninteresting the latest trial was. Whenever you two take a stroll around Fontaine, much to her dismay, she feels at easeâ not because of the sights of the nation she rules over, sheâs seen them countless times; but because of the sight of you.
Any moment spent with you couldnât be wasted on such monotonous activities such as taking a mere stroll around the city you were both accustomed to. The fleeting feeling she absolutely refused to acknowledge, the way her heart hammered in her chest, it all left her unsure. As soon as you came into view, the only thing she ever thought about was to stay beside you as long as she could.
OUT OF EVERYONE, I WANT YOUR EYES SPECIFICALLY ON ME.
Having all eyes on him, something LYNEY had grown used to, the attentiveness of the crowd, and the people who fall for his charms during each and every show. But, how is it that whenever he spots you, he has the urge to be even more spontaneous than he normally is? How is it that whenever you came into view, he tried a little harder to please the audience? Well, he was secretly hoping that you would be as pleased as the rest of them.
Even outside of his performances, he craves your attention, he craves for you to notice him. A small compliment from you on one of his magic tricks, and it leaves his heart fluttering. He had a mission, to impress you enough for you to potentially fall for him, or moreover, to impress you enough for you to see how captivated he was by you. A flame of determination in his eyes was evident in the way he declared that youâll be even more amazed by what he had up his sleeves next. The next time he spotted you among the spectators, he sent a wink in your directionâ and a performance that had you dazzled. After all, what is a magician if not an expert in stealing hearts?
WHATâS IT LIKE? HAVING THE ATTENTION OF SOMEONE YOU LOVE?
Being the lowest-profile Magician's Assistant in the land came with its perks, with the absolute majority of their audience being more interested in her older brother than her. So when LYNETTE is faced with someone whose attention was solely placed on her, she has no idea what to do. The only thing she could think of was to shut you out like the others who have tried to attract her attention before. Unfortunately for her, you were persistent.
She even grew accustomed to your questions after a performance; from answering in at max, five-word sentences, to her answering them in complete detail with a blank expression. The warmth in her chest whenever you seemed almost flabbergasted at how no one seemed to be very interested in her, left her awake at night sometimes. Even her brothers noticed the small glint of light in her eyes whenever you came into her sights, though she refused to speak about it. The two noticed how a light cherry-red tinted her cheeks, almost unnoticeable, that only appeared when you were nearby. Her frequent small smiles were unbelievably rare, but they came so naturally when it came to you.
UTTERLY NERVOUS WHEN IT COMES TO YOU, ITâS A SIGN.
To pique FREMINETâS interest, you had to be patient and understanding with him. Much like his older sister, the young diver prefers to be out of the limelight. It was worse when others couldnât respect that, with interviewers or just random strangers bombarding him with questions not even relating to his line of work, but that of his siblings. He wouldnât have been able to stand it on his own, but you were there with your eyes narrowedâ almost protective, making his breathing almost unsteady. You never pried into his personal life, knowing well how difficult it was for him to open up. You knew what questions made him uncomfortable, and which ones he was okay with answering, and the way he looked a little happier when you showed genuine interest in his profession made you proud to know you were doing something right.
He found himself admiring you, adoring you, and loving you. You already knew how timid he was, but you felt as if he was more nervous around you than anyone else. You pondered for a while whether you had done something wrong, but everyone around you knows that is far from the truth.
MAKING EXCUSES TO SEE YOU, WHILE YOUR NAME SLIPS HIS MOUTH.
KAMISATO AYATO knew he was smitten the moment he realized he was constantly making excuses to see you. You captured his attention, and even he wasnât exactly sure how or even when it happened. The amount of times your name slipped out of his mouth while talking to Ayaka, was embarrassing, to say the least. You never cared about the fortunes of the Kamisato Clan, but even so, you knew he had his guard up during your first few interactions. How he gracefully appeared before you, with you taking it as merely a chance meeting when all of it was already planned in his head like a movie.
The first time Thoma had pointed out his âstrange behaviorâ before apologizing profusely for âbutting into his businessâ, Ayato couldnât find it in him to deny any of his retainerâs claims. You were awe-striking, so much so that whenever your name was mentioned anywhereâ a small smile appeared on his features, illuminating what he desperately wanted to hide, his heart.
STUCK IN DENIAL AS HE BECOMES DEFENSIVE.
It became clear to everyone but the WANDERER that he felt this way towards you, or so they thought. He never gave it away clearly, but it was his defensive mechanism when it came to you that revealed it. He denied any claims, questions, his frown growing deeper when he even thought about it. Others thought of it as him dismissing you completely, but he thought of it as protecting the friendship you both cherished.
Nahida was the only one who understood his train of thought, with how desperately he held onto each moment you spent with him, she knew it was bound to come to this someday. It was rare, but at times she found him sitting under a treeâ the corners of his lips turned slightly upwards as he reminisced to himself. Of course, if she made any outright claim, even if she read his mind and told him what he was thinkingâ he would deny it instantly. He held onto that flicker of flame in his chest so dearly, one that burned brighter when you came close.
OBSERVING YOU WAS ONCE MY DUTY, NOW ITâS HOW I LEARN ABOUT YOU.
Even those who eyed the Chief of Justice constantly wouldnât be able to tell, but NEUVILLETTE was observing you from afar. He knew he had better things to do than to stare at you as you shop, but that thought never stopped him before. It was his job to observe you, to make sure you werenât doing anything that would bring harm to the nation of justice. Right now, however, it wasnât as much of doing his job as it was of him simply learning about you and your daily activities. Ever since you first stepped foot in Fontaine, he was observing your every move. At first, it was because a few people found your presence suspicious, but then he took a small interest in youâ and even went as far as to strike up a conversation or two with you.
Your smile entranced him instantly, and before he knew it, his mind began to cloud with thoughts of you. It was almost contagious, the corners of his mouth turning upwards at the sightâ though only a little. He picked up on every little thing with observation alone. Your favorite things, hobbies, dislikes, he found himself growing to learn them all. The Chief of Justice was loved by many, but now he has learned to love another.

you're a pain in the neck. (literally.)

premise. in which you make a nuisance of yourself in every train ride you share with scaramouche. (inexplicably, he doesn't stop sitting next to you anyway.)
note. we pretend i didn't disappear for months :D enjoy

Neck pain has been increasingly common in Scaramouche's life these days.
The cause of which is sleeping peacefully on his shoulder, snoring softly as the train rattles past. The way you remain deep in slumber despite the constant lurching is impressive, but your knack for unwittingly making yourself a menace to society is even more spectacular.
Scaramouche takes a deep breathâKazuha always did advise him to be more patientâyet the moment he does, tufts of your hair curl against his skin. A flush rises to his cheeks, body caught between freezing in place and jolting out of his seat, but he digs his fingers to his thighs and wills himself to dispel the urge to shoot upright, in fear of...
In fear of what? Shocking you awake?
Nonsense. He's never been that considerate.
(Still, once the tension bleeds from his body, he lets his shoulders drop, fitting your head snugly against the crook of his neck. He grabs your phone from your loose grip, tucks it securely in your pocket, and allows himself to stare at the dark circles beneath your eyes.
He can let himself worry for a bit.)
--
âWhat's wrong with you?â Kazuha's concerned gaze settles over Scaramouche's hunched figure, slumped miserably on the desk. His head is craned in a particular angle, and Childe, obnoxious as he is, had erupted in boisterous laughter when Scaramouche entered the lecture hall tilted the very same way. Unfortunately, Scaramouche had been too sore to swat away Childe's phone as he took a picture of him in a zombie filter.
âGot a crick in my neck.â
Kazuha frowns. âDid you sleep badly again?â
Scaramouche scoffs in defeat. âYou could say that.â

The next time he sees you enter the train, you're drenched.
You make an effort to dry yourself, wiping rainwater out of your hair with a handkerchief and packing your wet jacket in your bag, but you're still undeniably soaked. Some passengers don't bother to hide their distaste, scooting away to other vacant seats as they shoot you a scornful look. Others aren't so cruel, offering packets of tissues and initiating small talk over the worsening weather. Scaramouche watches as your apologetic expression turns into one of gratitude, sheepishly admitting to the nice aunties you forgot to check the forecast.
Scaramouche doesn't quite give you a spare towel or send you a reassuring smile, but he broods silently from where he sits beside you, scowling at the impudent lot now sitting far, far away. Insolent fools, tactless jerks, ill-mannered garbageâa barrage of insults fly in his head, ones he has learned not to verbalize lest he gets in trouble for his crass mouth again.
When the train pauses to his stop, he pulls out a foldable umbrella from his bag, still seething. He hands it out to you, not making eye contact as he's still glaring at the woman giving you a side-eye. âTake this.â
âUh...?â Perplexed, you hesitantly accept it. âBut...â
âIt's fine.â He slings his backpack over his shoulder, walking toward the sliding doors. âSo don't come here drenched in the rain next time.â
He doesn't get to hear your response as he speeds off.
--
âI'm an asshole.â
âIs this your moment of self-discovery?â
âCongratulations.â
Scaramouche's eyebrow twitches, but he's much too panicked to make a snarky quip to fire back. It's his fault for picking the wrong people to talk to, anywayâHeizou is a smartass and Xiao has a perpetual stick up his ass. He should've confided to the empathetic Aether instead, or to Venti who gives surprisingly good advice when you least expect it.
âSo what made you realize it?â Heizou bites down on a pork cutlet, apparently finished with his daily quota for pissing him off and now fulfilling his obligations as a friend. âDid something happen?â
âDoes it have anything to do with how you arrived soaking wet to class?â Xiao adds, poking the tofu on his plate.
âPerhaps you tried stealing an umbrella on your way here?â
âYou got it backwards, dumbass. I gave away mine,â Scaramouche scowls.
âThat sounds like you did a good thing, then. What's wrong?â
The way he gave it away so roughly. The way he said you could use it so condescendingly. How he'd forgotten to offer words of comfort, no matter how painful or awkward for him, because he'd been so absorbed in pointless matters. How he'd completely ruined his chances of being friends with you by acting like an indifferent jerk.
All because he was too embarrassed to say he's worried you'll catch a cold from the rain.
--
When Scaramouche takes the train the way home, it's him who's dripping rainwater everywhere.
Karma had gotten his new umbrella stolen from the rack, it seems. He just bought it from the convenience store, damn it.
So now he stands by the doors, too reluctant to go any further inside the train. His wet sneakers squeak beneath his feet, hair sticking uncomfortably on his forehead. His shirt clings to him like second skin, and the only thing retaining his modesty (because of course he falls prey to downpour the one time he wears a white button-up) is a heavy sweater vest soaked in water.
âSo much for telling me not to come here when I'm drenched.â
A small towel drapes itself over his head, and Scaramouche quickly turns on his feet. Your mouth is curled into a grin when you step to the spot by his side, but not unkindlyâyou aren't here to mock him or return his cruel words.
Scaramouche grabs the towel sitting atop his head, drying his hair with it. As he does so, you make no move to leave even with plenty of vacant seats remaining unoccupied.
â... Aren't you going to sit?â
âHm? No.â You're already holding onto a handrail, staring ahead.
â...Why not?â
âI'm keeping you company.â
???
âOh, and your umbrella.â You fish it from your bag, holding it out for him to take. âCute pattern, by the way.â
âWha-â he's about to say âwhat are you talking about,â but then he sees the cute star print, the gold sparkles bright against navy blue, and his hair rises on end, face flushing a deep red. Nahida was the one who packed it for me...!
â...Cute.â
âI heard you the first time,â he grumbles under his breath, accepting it from your hand.
An endeared smile crosses your face, one that he doesn't see as he stuffs the umbrella into his backpack.
I wasn't talking about the umbrella.

Scaramouche has always made it a habit to take the train before rush hour, but his report is due today, and so he slept for a grand total of two hours last night just to finish it. It wouldn't even be two hours if he hadn't slept through his alarm, but he wishes he'd woken up earlier; if it meant he could've avoided a crowded train, he could stand to lose some minutes of sleep.
âCan you move a bit?â
âOw, ow...â
âSorry, I stepped on your foot!â
âI hope nobody comes in at the next stop...â
Scaramouche empathizes with the last remark in particular, because he really couldn't handle it any more.
Presently, he's staring at the ceiling, praying for divine intervention. His neck is starting to hurt but he forces himself to face upwards, otherwise he would...
âThis is tough, isn't it?â You laugh awkwardly, your chuckle turning into a wince when an elbow digs to your side. The train car is packed at full capacity, and you wouldn't be exaggerating if you were to say you felt like you were drowning in a sea of people.
âThat's a massive understatement,â Scaramouche replies, wishing for death.
âSorry. I can't go any farther than this.â
âIt's fine.â
Actually, nothing is fine.
Scaramouche is trapped against the wall in the farthest location from the exit, surrounded by people from all sides, his stop is two stations away, and he has no idea how he's going to swim all the way through the doors.
Oh, and he's caged between your arms, pressed against your body, and feeling very much like a pervert for sniffing your scent, but it's simply impossible not to smell you at this close proximity (however, it's entirely his fault for thinking you smell good and trying to pinpoint what cologne you use).
Your head is resting on his shoulder, and Scaramouche learns quickly this position is a lot more embarrassing when you're conscious. And fuck, this time he can feel you breathe directly against his neck, puffs of hot air blowing on his reddened skin, and he can only hope for the best you can't sense his racing heartbeat.
You're too goddamn close, even though he can tell you're exerting your utmost effort to create some distance between your bodies. Your arms are straining pushing on the wall just so you wouldn't crush him under your weight, and as much as he should appreciate it, he can hardly think straight over the sound of his pulse in his ears. He's hanging precariously over the edge, and if he crosses his limit, he might just pass away on the spot.
Hell, if he so as much looks down, he's close enough to kiss your forehead, and-
He really shouldn't be thinking about that right now.
So yeah. Scaramouche may look like an idiot facing the ceiling, but at least he isn't at risk of cardiac arrest.
It's fine. This is fine. I'm one stop away. I can survive this. Just a little more.
But the gods above must hate his guts or something because the train screeches to a rough halt at the station, the car rattles violently, and you're squirming underneath him, his hands instinctively wrapping around your waist to steady you, but your head moves to look up at him and-
Scaramouche very nearly astral projects to another plane when he feels your lips graze against his chin.
âHey, you okay?! Did you hit your head on the wall or something?â
He feels like he did. He's so dizzy and the world is spinning around him, but at the same time you're the only one he can see. This must be unhealthy, Scaramouche thinks, and he wonders how much blood has rushed to his head, coloring his cheeks bright pink, and if he can die from losing too much blood this way.
âKuni?â
How do you know my name, Scaramouche isn't sure if he really says it, mind still whirring with thoughts, and oh god his hands are still on your waist-
âYour umbrella had a name tag...â You squint at the neon letters displaying the current station, âHey, your stop is here, isn't it? Excuse me! Coming thro....â
He vaguely remembers your hands pushing him forward and the crowd parting obediently to make way for him when they see his face becoming visibly ill. The rest passes in a blur, and when Scaramouche finally comes to, he's already outside the train station.
For a brief moment, he stays frozen. Then by the corner of his eye, he notices the shopping center.
He stares at the pastel decor from the cosmetic store, approaches the vanity mirror, and if possible, his mind turns even more blank.
A faint kiss mark is stark against his chin, the same color as the lip tint you wear everyday.

âI'm not going.â
Venti sighs, disappointed but not surprised. âYou never go to drinking parties with me. Why do you always head straight home after class?â
âReasons.â Scaramouche closes his laptop and slides it inside his bag, making quick work of packing his things. âIn your case, I'd advise you to go less. Being an alcoholic isn't a good look.â
âMy liver is strong,â Venti insists, a cheeky grin dancing on his lips. âBut seriously, what's up? Don't tell me you have a secret girlfriend you meet up with after class?â
âI was starting to think the same thing,â Aether pipes up, matching curious looks with Venti. âOr maybe you have a boyfriend? Either way, what are they like?â
âI have neither,â Scaramouche grumbles, coming off more pitiful than spiteful. âAnd I'm coming home early today because Nahida wanted me to get something for dinner.â
âEhh, that's boring.â
âYou're the ones making assumptions by yourselves!â Scaramouche snaps, treading towards the door. âI'm leaving. Don't call me to pick you up when you're wasted, it's Xiao's turn this week.â
âOkay, enjoy your date~â
Scaramouche doesn't even bother replying.
--
You get on the train scheduled for 4:15 everyday.
It's not that Scaramouche deliberately researched this information; he really did just catch the same train rides by chance. Over time, he began to recognize you as a familiar face, and eventually, he even became your headrest.
Not by choice, but he supposes he just has to live with it.
It's not that Scaramouche intentionally takes the same train so he could see your face. At least, that's what he tells himself as he silently pressures the retail cashier to scan his items faster and practically flies out the convenience store to rush for the train.
He glances at his wristwatch. 4:11. I'll make it. He breathes a sigh of relief, and checks the shopping list Nahida texted for good measure. Curry mix, milk, a carton of eggs...
A notification sound rings from his phone.
âSorry for the late notice, could you get pudding for dessert too?â
Shit.
Panic flares in his eyes and he spins on his heel, returning to the convenience store. Do I sprint? No, it's still not humanly possible to buy pudding and go back in four minutes... But I could try. Wait, wasn't there a line of customers behind me earlier? I'd still have to wait in line.
Finally, he stops running. This is stupid. Why am I working so hard just to catch this train, anyway?
Before he could even properly sulk about it, Scaramouche bumps into someone hurrying for the train. âOh, sorry! I wasn't looking-â
Much to his surprise, your face comes into view when he looks, chest heaving for breath. You look like you've been running for a good while, hair in disarray from the wind, the reading glasses perched on your nose askew. And that's how Scaramouche knows you're in a real hurry, if you didn't even have the time to put on your contacts.
âIt's okay,â Scaramouche quickly replies, stepping aside out of your path. âThe train is still there, don't sweat it.â
He turns to the convenience store, mood lifted. I got to see them, so I guess this way is fine, too.
--
When Scaramouche returns from shopping, he comes back to a strange sight.
âHuh?â
âWhat are you looking at?â
Good question.
Why was he looking at your figure, still waiting for the next train to come by?
âNo, well...â The plastic bags in his hand crinkle when he tightens his grip on them. Scaramouche blinks repeatedly, trying to see if you'll somehow fizzle out of existence if he closes his eyes enough. âYou definitely could've made it in time for the train, so why are you still...â
Your lips stretch to a small smile. âI didn't.â
No. You definitely did.
You were at a distance where it'll only take three minutes max to reach the train even if you walked the same pace as a turtle. So why...
âYour face can be surprisingly expressive sometimes, Kuni. You're practically a walking question mark right now.â
âKu-â He stops himself from speaking before his voice could crack.
âSorry, you don't like me calling you that?â You're tilting your head at him, putting on puppy eyes. Oh no.
â...No. It's fine.â Damn it. Aether was rightâhe really is a softie.
However, he's still busy pondering. Sure, it's a stroke of luck and Scaramouche won't look a gift horse in the mouth, but why didn't you take your usual train? You were even running towards the station, arriving with wind-tousled hair and disheveled clothes.
âI was waiting.â
Scaramouche blinks. âFor what?â
You stare at him in disbelief, like you seriously can't believe he doesn't know. That's when Scaramouche notices some things about you are a little different from earlier.
Your hair is fixed now, no strands randomly sticking up in the air. Your clothes are neat and tidy too, creases patted down. Your glasses are gone, and Scaramouche isn't sure if it's just his mind playing tricks on him or the color of your lips appears more vibrant from earlier.
He flinches when a sigh escapes you. But then the frown on your face is replaced with a dazzling smile, exasperated but fond.
âWho do you think I'm waiting for, dummy?â

BONUS: A look into the future.

âHas anyone ever told you your chin is really sharp?â Scaramouche grumbles under his breath, movements heavily restricted when your arms are wrapped tightly around his torso and the edge of your chin is stabbing his neck. Cooking breakfast proves to be a lot more of a challenge when a koala is clinging on his back.
âNo,â you chirp, grinning ear to ear as you watch him stir the pancake batter over his shoulder. âHas anyone ever told you how cute you look in an apron?â
Scaramouche glowers. âNo.â If a living person actually did, they wouldn't be for long.
âThat's good.â If possible, you squeeze him even tighter, nuzzling against his face. âI want to keep the adorable Kuni to myself.â
âDisgusting.â
So he says as he leans his head closer when you peck him on the cheek.
Some things just never change, he guesses.
would they choose you over the world?
aether (traveler), dainsleif, scaramouche, raiden ei, lumine (abyss), venti, xiao x gn!reader

AETHER thinks he can save both, no, he knows he can. The powers of this world rests at the tip of his fingertips. Heâs faced monsters and gods and come out alive and better than he was before. Thereâs no reason to hesitate, none whatsoever to consider his decision butâbut. He has never been made to choose before. There was always another way, another choice, another something he could rely on. Itâs a moral dilemma, like the situation with the train where you either save five people and kill one person, or kill five people to save one person. Itâs easy enough to answer when it was simply thatâa moral dilemma created to confuse him, not a world ending decision that lies on his shoulders. To choose one is to doom the other. Most people would choose the world, but while Aether is called a hero and the savior of nations, he is also a person. He looks at your resigned smile, like you already know which one heâll choose, and he decides to prove you wrong.
DAINSLEIF clings to loss like a dying man does to the edge of a cliff. The inevitability of death and your mortality rests on his shoulders much like weight of his entire nationâs death. He wonders what it says about him that heâd rather have you safe and sound than have the world be saved. Five hundred years of aimless wandering, fighting against the remnants of his fallen nation and watching the world move on while he remains untouched by time, the ghost of a past that can never be returned to. Dainsleif isnât a hero, heâs tired. All thatâs left of him are fading memories of a time gone by and moments with you that he clings to like a lifeline. What has this world ever done for him except cause him pain needless grief? What has it done to deserve his sacrifice? Nothing. And so he rests, hand in hand with you on withering grass and waits for the world to end. At least, this time, he wonât be alone in watching the heavens descend.
SCARAMOUCHE laughs, and laughs, and laughs until heâs sure even the gods that reside in Celestia has heard the scorn and mockery in his voice. It is so laughably easy to choose you and denounce the world. Let it be turned to ash and dust, let his body dance on top of a desolate world, let him pull you in an embrace and delight in the fact that no sun and no light (for none of these exist anymore) would ever outmatch the brightness in your eyes, the smile on your face, the tinkling sound of your laughter amidst the remains of a world that once threatened to snuff your life like a candle left in the dark. He is like a flame and you, the spark. Thereâs a tsunami gathering on the horizon, threatening to drown everything in its wake, but instead of preventing it, he revels in the ruin it will bring. It is either your death alone or yours and everyone else, and if you have to die either way, then he will die with you and drag the rest of the world along in his self-appointed destruction. You taught him what it felt to no longer be alone, so he will make sure youâre never lonely, even in death.
EI feels weightless, like a leaf adrift in the wind. It feels like she is back to that moment five hundred (a thousand) years ago, a dilemma, a decision, a choiceâfollow Makoto to Khaenriâah, or defend her people from the monsters ravaging the lands? There was uncertainty there, a small seedling of hope that she would arrive not far from Makoto and see her sister alive and waiting, and so she had made the decision to stayâbut this? Faced with an ultimatum, the world or your death, Ei finds that the decision is much more difficult, much more devastating but no less heartbreaking. Had it been before, in her lonesome at the Plane of Euthymia, the choice would have been easy, barely a thought in her mind, but everything has changed and Ei wants, in a way she has never wanted before, to be with you. You with your smiles and your laughs and the warmth you induce in her frigid heartâand she finds that she cannot make a choice⌠so you do it for her. For the greater good.
LUMINE doesnât hesitate, doesnât even flinch before she turns her back to the world and takes your hand. What good is the world if youâre not there in it? She wonât just stand by and watch as everything she holds dear is destroyed in front of herânot anymore. There is you, there is her, and there is the world burning, and Lumine finds that she can hardly care. Her heart has no place for faceless people, no love left for a world that has done nothing but spurn and trample on everything she had offered. Let it burn if it means having one more second, one more minute, one more lifetime with you. A choice isnât truly a choice if the other option was never considered, and she will never consider a world without you. There are millions, billions, countless other worlds out there she could take you to. Damn this place, damn the heavens, and damn the consequences. Her brother would understand, he always has, and when Lumine meets him again in a new world, sheâll make sure to introduce you to him.
VENTI wants, like Icarus yearning for the Sun, but Venti is Venti, and Barbatos is Barbatos. Right now, he cannot afford to be that carefree bard who spun tales of your lovely hair and lovelier still lips (cannot be Icarus who flew too close to the sun and fell). Venti wantsâbut Barbatos knows the best option, the best choice, the least devastating one but the most heart-wrenching one. The situation is funny, laughable, hilarious, really, the kind that makes his stomach ache and brings tears to his eyes that drip down his cheeks and onto the ground andâoh, heâs crying. Heâs crying and holding you close and apologizing, Iâm sorry, Iâm sorry, Iâm sorry, and he doesnât deserve your forgiveness, doesnât deserve the hand carding through his hair and the soft press of your lips on his forehead as you murmur, donât cry, itâs alright, youâre doing the best you can. But the best means not doing this at all, the best means not having to make a choice at all, the means means not having to say goodbye. Itâs okay, you tell him, I forgive you. But he never forgives himself.
XIAO thinks there must be another way, there has to be another way. He wonât accept this, wonât allow himself to choose between losing you or losing everything, because he knows, deep down, that the choice has already been made and it is not the the one he wants. But he knows better than most that doing what he wants isnât always what is needed, that certain sacrifices must be made despite his unwillingness, despite his entire body protesting against it. Rex Lapis once told him that being a god means making difficult decisions. If this is what it means to be a god, then he will accept a life of service, a life of war and fighting and breathing like every second is his lastâbecause pain and suffering are infinitely better than having to wake everyday without your voice by his ear, giggling about how you finally caught him asleep. A world without your light, without your presence, without you is a desolate one. There must be another way, another sacrifice to be made that doesnât involve you. Justâanything, anyone but you. Even if it has to be him.

Featuringâ neuvillette x reader ⤠warnings: none ! ⤠summary: the melusines play matchmaker a/n: do they need an ideal mother

Your relationship with fontaineâs melusines started when you took on the menial task of helping menthe tailor the sleeves of her too long cuffs, and was solidified after your wholehearted support for aevalâs aquabus tour. In such a small community, word travels fast and your popularity skyrockets when mamere paints your portrait as her muse of choice.Â
Itâs not like you mind, as theyâre quite easy to get along withâvery sweet, if not a little naiveâand you do enjoy their company when they greet you on the streets or invite you to tea. Still, it comes as a bit of a surprise when a few approach you, absolutely convinced that youâd be a great companion to their âvery lonely, very human friend.âÂ
âŚWhich is how you come to find yourself seated at cafe lucerne, impatiently tapping your fingers at this supposed âfriendâ who would be so rude as to make you wait more than 30 minutes past the designated meeting time. You take a deep breath to keep your irritation at bay, convincing yourself that any friend of the melusines, especially one they speak so highly of, must be a good person.
As you continue to wait, one table away, something very blue crosses your line of sight, and you look up to discover that itâs none other than the esteemed iudex himself, the chief justice who radiates such an air of refined elegance that you cannot help but sit up a little straighter in his vicinity. Seems this day just got a little more interesting as itâs not everyday you run into the notoriously elusive monsieur neuvillette just out and about on the streets of fontaine.
You yourself have been to your share of trials at the opera epiclese, seen him from his seat up above, looming over the courtroom, high and mighty. Up close, heâs still all sharp lines and perfect etiquette, the very personification of grace, but you canât deny the fact that heâs so much more handsome in person.Â
He casts a glance towards a nearby clock, and while his expression remains largely neutral, his violet eyes dance, perturbed. Perhaps heâs also meeting someone here? You deduce that it must be so, judging by the fact that heâs seated at a table clearly meant for more, and since you obviously have the time, you might as well play detective, which now begs the question: who could he be meeting?
You highly doubt itâs lady furina, so perhaps another official? Except an outdoor cafe is hardly the place to conduct such business. Besides, the average fontainian would be much too intimidated to dare keep someone of such high regard waiting. Maybe a friend, then?Â
Your head tilts as you think through your observations. At least outwardly, monsieur neuvillette isâŚcold. He presents himself the same way in and out of court: untouchable as the sun, but with none of its warmth. Heâs private and stays out of the public eye, only ever seen interacting comfortably with the archon andâŚthe melusinesâŚÂ
You lean back in disbelief at the way it all clicks. Impossible. The friend the melusines so adamantly wanted to introduce you to isâŚmonsieur neuvillette? What a ridiculous notion to even entertain. Besides, itâs public knowledge that heâs much more of a father figure to them⌠although it does explain why they seemed so tongue-tied describing this so-called âfriend.â
AndâŚhe does look quite forlorn sitting there, face blank and fingers laced together. You make a mental note to remind your little friends that as amiable as he may be with them, they cannot just blindside you with the chief justice of fontaine. Still, a meeting is a meeting, and itâd be terribly rude of you to just up and leave.
âUm, pardon me monsieur neuvillette but you wouldnât happen to be meeting anyone here, would you?â Â
Neuvillette blinks. What a pleasant surprise; not many approach him of their own accord. âAs it happens, I was supposed to meet a few melusines for tea.â He gestures to the evidently empty table, though his sharp ears catch the faint whispers amidst the rustle of leaves to his side.Â
âHowever, I suspect they may have forgotten to inform me of their change of plans.â He clears his throat, tilting his head towards a nearby bush where the tips of a few very colorful pairs of ears wiggle in excitement.
The corners of your lips quirk into the beginnings of a small smile. âThatâs funnyâa few melusines insisted that I meet a very human friend of theirs, though heâs yet to show up.â For obvious reasons, you decide to drop the fact they called him lonely behind his back.
Ah. So you were the kind individual his melusines often spoke so fondly of.
âPerhaps he attended the trial this morning. It did run longer than anticipated.â Yes, you knew there must have been a valid explanation to the tardiness.Â
âWell, maybe we can keep each other company while we wait?â
Neuvillette gestures at the empty chair across from him and you swear the sun seems to shine a little brighter. âI would very much like that.â
