Thanks For Reading!
Thanks for Reading!
Hello, hello!
Today my blog reached 50 followers! This is (very) exciting for me, and I wanted to thank you all for taking the time to read my poems and choosing to stick around for more. (Special thanks to @poetryportal and @writerscreed for the reblogs and mentions, which helped me in reaching a larger audience!)
To celebrate, I posted three poems. I hope that you like them! Also, my asks are open (but I prefer obscure asks if it's something about me)!
I'll keep writing, and I hope that you'll keep reading!
Thanks again!

Poem: Globe
The little globe on my desk
Spins tales for me of the city where we met –
And where you said you loved me
For the first time with your easy summer smile –
But as I twirl it with my finger, so smoothly,
Like you had me wrapped around yours,
I feel a sort of relief in knowing
That I don't wonder where you are
And what you’re doing anymore.

A Plant Update and Another Thank You~
//A non-poetry post
Hello, hello!
Thanks so much for 75 followers! As I've said before, I appreciate that you've taken the time to read my writing and stuck around for future posts. I'll keep on doing my best! I have some poems lined up for this week, so I hope that you enjoy/resonate with them~
I mentioned in an earlier post that I started growing some small plants. As an update, several of the seeds that I planted have sprouted (but I don't have any flowers yet). Watering them is one of the first things that I do every day, and since they first started sprouting, they have looked different every single time. My ever-changing (albeit tiny) garden has given me something simple to look forward to every day since it's different each time, and I definitely recommend starting one as a little summer project!
I hope that my blog grows as well as my plants have (they have leaves already, which is exciting) and has some flowers soon (cheesy, I know).
Anyway, thank you (again)!
Sending good vibes to you all,

Poem: Daybreak
When we came to an end,
I felt for a while as though
The sun would not rise again;
I stayed up until dawn to see
If this could prove to be true –
But when the sun rose as usual
And my heart sank further,
I realized that I shouldn’t expect
That the day wouldn’t break
When my heart was already broken.

Poem: Waiting for the Rain
I sat waiting for the rain to come
Because the rumbling of thunder
Seemed to come from just beyond
My door; I expected the darkness
Of the sky to produce some kind
Of downpour, but none came.
I sat waiting for the rain to come
And wash away my expectations that
The sky would stay so dauntingly gray;
That life would be this way until
A wave of relief flooded it; that I
Would continue to spend my days
Like this, waiting for the rain.

Poem: Unspoken Lines #6
A Haiku // The One about My Heart
“I won’t show you what
A love like mine looks like; my
Heart can’t handle yours.”
