It had been three months since the “hotel incident”. Finally, you texted him. You weren’t sure what to expect from him, but you were ultimately relieved by his response, and didn’t wast a single moment on making your way to him.

With each step you take, a small splash sounds beneath your feet. Rain patters on the ground, and you pull your jacket closed in an attempt to shield yourself from the cold gust of wind that blows through the night. Each stride is powerful and determined - the truth is, you like Jenson. What once was a deep disdain for the man has somehow formed into a blossoming adoration for him. Miscommunications and mistakes lead you down the wrong path with him, but ever since the night of the “hotel incident” — as you, Jenson, and your team call it — you haven’t been able to see him in a bad light.

“Look, i’m sorry,” Jenson says, his expression softer than it had ever been towards you. You were almost offended, thinking he was about to try and make you feel bad, but that wasn’t the case. “You’re more than welcome to go - actually, i’ll pay for your hotel room if you want to leave, but if you’re choosing to stay, i’ll give you your space.” It was unlike him, at least, the him that you knew. He seemed remorseful and genuine, like you and him were anything but rivals. It made your heart beat just a little faster in your chest, and you couldn’t deny how strangely right it felt to be in the same bed with him. Even sharing the room was almost natural.

You turned away from each other to change, but both of you were guilty of peeking over your shoulder. Your eyes lingered for longer than you’d ever admit, but the same went for him. Neither of you could muster the courage to say anything, to address the tension between you both, and despite what should have been an awkward atmosphere, you both found yourselves comfortable in each others presence, even with the weight of your forbidden thoughts.

Not much happened after that, truthfully. Things did change though. Suddenly, his presence didn’t irk you, and you could never get on his nerves. You worked together more willingly, almost volunteered, and through those minor changes, you both came to realize how wrong you’d been about the other. Sure, Jenson had his moments, but he was sweet, a genuine and polite guy. You weren’t entitled the way Jenson thought - in fact, you were humble, kind…and how could he ever not see just how beautiful you are?

He doesn’t know the answer to that, but now, knowing that you’re moments away, he finds himself anxious. In a good way. He’s excited to see you, and he laughs to himself about how ironic that is given how he used to dread seeing you. A knock on his door draws him back to reality, and he knows it’s you. Outside of the hotel room, you wait impatiently, and breathe a sigh of relief when he finally opens the door. Instanly, like an instinct, you step forward and wrap your arms around him, nuzzling into his warmth. His reaction is just as instinctive, and he wraps his arms around you, guiding you into the privacy of his room.

For the first time, you talked. Not yelled, not argued, just spoke to one another. It was a completely different experience for the two of you, one that you never thought would come of your relationship, but it came to you naturally. The warm touch of his hand holding yours, the somehow assuring and slightly intimidating way he looked at you as you spoke, the way he didn’t just listen to you, he heard you. And, you did the same for him. Though he didn’t have much to say, you listened and heard, and soon, you felt as though you’d only just met him, yet known him for years. Not the rival Jenson, but a Jenson you could get used to, one that you didn’t back away from when he leaned in.

It was a small, sealing kiss that he placed on your lips. One to really ensure that all of this was happening, that things were changing between the both of you, and you both accepted it, with a weight lifting off of your shoulders.

Summary: The first thing Jenson noticed about his girlfriend when he met her was the smell of vanilla and then he fell in love with her sweet personality that perfectly matched it.

Williams social media manager (mid 20s)!reader

Jenson playing a role in the Williams team means that sometimes they do pull him in for social media stuff and while there's a whole social media and marketing team. It's when the social media manager appears that he is more compliant.

His head raises as he smells the soft scent that is actually still lingering on his clothes from when they were together earlier.

"I was waiting for the boss." Jenson smiles as she looks at him raising her eyebrow lightly in question. Always so cool and collected as she comes into the situation where the rest of the social media team seem to be fussing. "They are stress about something."

"Right, give me 2 minutes." Y/n sighs with a nod pecking his lips gently before she heads over to the very clearly distressed couple social media assistants.

Whatever the issue is, y/n resolves it within the 2 minute window as promised and proves why even though she's young, there's good reason that she's in charge of the socials team.

"Alright, all sorted." Y/n puffs out then smiling as she looks at Jenson with a smile as he looks back at her with that iconic playboy smirk. She's tamed that part of him, but it still lives on in a ghost form only directed at her. "What's that look for?"

"Just you coming in here, taking charge and fixing everything like it's nothing." Jenson smiles with a small shrug as he rests his hands on her waist. "I think I should aspire to be like you."

"Wow, that's bold words." Y/n giggles before she jumps herself up and wraps her arms around his neck as he holds her with his arms wrapping around her tightly to hold her there while he sighs breathing in the soft vanilla perfume. "I am sort of tired."

"Can you make it the next couple hours?" Jenson asks making the young woman hum and hide her face in his neck.

She's strong and calm and just someone that a lot of people rely on. But Jenson has definitely come her pillar.

Jenson sighs getting to their hotel suite and finding that y/n beat him to it but isn't done working for the day as she sits at the table with a set up that makes him sigh.

"Hey, guess what I picked up for you." Jenson smiles placing a box of macaroons down on the table next to her making her smile and perk up from where she'd slouched and balled herself up in the seat while looking at her laptop.

"Oh my gosh...these are so cute-are they vanilla flavour?" Y/n gasps with a small laugh while he nods with a smile and sits down in another seat.

"We should get some room service ordered too, because I can bet good money that you couldn't tell me what you've eaten today or when you last ate." Jenson states making her redirect her gaze to the screen again to avoid the question. "That's what I thought."

Jenson places the room service menu down for her to peruse, which she does then mumbling that she'll get the chicken caesar salad.

"Just a salad?" Jenson hums making her point at the macaroons. "What about the steak?"

Y/n's guilty pleasure and not one she indulges in without his encouragement but when he does poke her into a meal that is more enjoyable than a salad, she isn't so stubborn that she fights him on it.

"Ok, steak does sound good." Y/n states earning a hum and smile from the older man. "Are you getting one too?"

"I think so." Jenson nods while looking at the menu for his own option.

Eventually they order and he does decide to get a steak too before they're just waiting and y/n talks to him through finishing up her work since social media teams are constantly working out of hours. Hell Jenson is surprised they haven't had some of the assistants at the door asking her for help, that's not uncommon.

"You know...the rumours around Kimi and Logan are going too far." Y/n mumbles making Jenson look at the young woman. "It's not fair to Logan for him to have to hear people talk about him the way they do. He is trying."

She might be social media manager, but they prefer to keep those things out of wider knowledge even if the whole team whispers about it.

"I didn't realise was turning into Red Bull." Y/n comments earning a look from Jenson.

"F1 is cut throat, you know that y/n. Anyway, I'm rooting for Logan. We all are." Jenson states earning a grumble from the young woman. "Have you tried speaking to James?"

"Have you?" Y/n questions which is a fair shot because James only speaks when he decides he wants to address someone. Not because he's rude or nasty, but he's a busy man and can't just set aside time for someone if it's about something he deems unimportant.

"Y/n..." Jenson hums making her shrug before there's a knock at the door. "That'll be the food."

"Well timed." Y/n laughs lightly while Jenson smiles back at her.

Y/n moves her stuff from the table and they set down the food to eat together.

There's something in the way that Y/n is absolutely makes Jenson visibly melt or soften that earns a lot of attention and praise towards the couple from the public.

The first thing that gives away y/n is nearby is that vanilla scent.

Jenson even whips his head around on live air when he catches a waft of the perfume and y/n smiles brightly seeing his attention on her.

"Come here." Jenson laughs making her rush to him in a hug.

"Ok, I actually have to go." Y/n whispers having a kiss stolen from the older man before he releases her from his hold.

"Aww...The two of you are such a pair. Everyone loves seeing Jenson and y/n." Simon states while Jenson smiles not even sorry for the public display of affection even if they're on air.

"And now you smell like vanilla." Naomi smiles making Jenson laugh and nod.

"Have to stay on brand." Jenson confirms while smelling what must've been freshly sprayed perfume that's transferred onto him now lingering around him.
